Chapter 596 He Really Let Gov
Bob confessed, "I called the reporters! Ishara is very uneasy, saying that others are gossiping behind her back about her pregnancy to the Rodriguez family, not getting your attention. We, the Rodriguez family, will not tolerate such scandals. You better accompany her well, don't ruin your image in front of the media."
Lawrence R didn't take Bob's words seriously, let alone his image.
Lawrence R squinted, a faint cold light flickering in his deep and profound eyes, not sure what he was thinking, but his steps came to a halt.
Seeing this, Ishara gently took his arm. "Lawrence, Uncle Rodriguez is also considering the reputation of the Rodriguez family. Just endure it a bit and come with me to buy some baby clothes."
Lawrence R remained calm and neglected, not refusing. He let Ishara lead him as they walked toward the baby store.
In the afternoon, the news of Mr. Rodriguez from the Rodriguez family accompanying his fiancée Ishara to the maternity store made headlines, overshadowing even Miss Blanchet and Rock's wedding news.
When Winnie returned home from work, she saw this news.
A message popped up on her phone, showing the handsome profile of Lawrence R accompanying Ishara to the maternity store. She remained silent, showing no emotion.
Her hand moved away from the screen, pressing the door lock code, and Winnie entered.
The TV in the villa's living room was connected to the internet, playing entertainment news. The figures of Lawrence R and Ishara shopping together appeared in the baby store.
Olivia frowned, looking complex.
Just as she was about to change the channel, Shane came down from upstairs and suddenly threw a bag of things on the floor.
"Shane! What's wrong with you?" Olivia looked up.
Shane stared at the entertainment news on the TV screen, his face showing a sudden realization and disappointment. He threw the LEGO sets that the old Mr. Rodriguez had given into the trash can.
"These LEGO sets cost thousands of dollars per box! Why don't you play with them and give them to Mia to play with?" Olivia wanted to pick them up.
"I don't want them!" Shane growled.
Olivia looked at him and then at the TV. "The gifts were from your dad, and then he accompanied Aunt Ishara to buy clothes for their child. So, are you angry because of that?"
"Deceiver!" Shane shook his head in frustration. "Grandpa Bob is a deceiver. He doesn't really like me. He used me to lure Daddy out. As soon as I left, Aunt Ishara came. Grandpa Bob loves the wild seed in Ishara's belly! Daddy has no idea where he is."
Shane sat on the ground, angry and sad. "He also cares a lot about Ishara's child, right? They are all deceivers. In the morning, he clearly looked so heartbroken and helpless when talking about Mom getting married, as if he was about to die."
Olivia glanced at the TV and quickly turned it off.
She walked over to Shane, touched his red eyes, and expressed her opinion, "Your dad is indeed a real jerk. He is genuinely sad, but he is not idle. It's certain that your mom will get married. Your dad has recovered quickly. Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to accompany Aunt Ishara to shop for their unborn child. I think it's for the best! Perhaps it proves that your dad is no longer obsessed with your mom's remarriage, hysterical. As long as your dad doesn't ruin the wedding, your mom's wedding will proceed smoothly!"
Winnie listened to Olivia's words at the door, lowered her eyes, and saw the sweet moment between Lawrence R and Ishara. Her thoughts echoed Olivia's.
The attitude Lawrence R displayed on the phone that day made Winnie uneasy. He said he wouldn't let her go! But then he turned around and busied himself building a relationship with Ishara. Perhaps Lawrence R had already let her go. He threatened her because he couldn’t accept it.
Lawrence R would also have a new family. He probably didn't have time to ruin her wedding anymore.
Winnie took a deep breath, feeling relieved. Suddenly, the low sobbing of her son came through, "I'm so conflicted. I want Daddy to come and ruin the wedding, take Mom away! But I don't want Mom to be desperate! This morning, I told Daddy that if Mom remarries, it would make her happy. I begged Daddy not to interfere. Aunt Olivia, do you know what Daddy said?"
Olivia also wanted to know Lawrence R's attitude. "I don't know."
"Daddy said that what he wants most is to make Mom happy," Shane said blankly. "I think that's what Daddy truly means. If Daddy makes Mom unhappy, that's also the root of his pain. He told me that if he leaves Mom, Mom may not be happy."
Olivia bit her lip.
Shane covered his face sadly. "Perhaps this sentence means that he is letting go. At that moment, I was both happy and sad! Daddy letting go will prevent more conflicts. But if Daddy lets go, I will no longer have a complete family."
Winnie stood by the door, slowly holding onto the door frame.
So, this was how Lawrence R thought. He really has figured it out.
She walked in, hugged her son's trembling shoulders from behind, her eyes misty. "Shane, Mom will always love you and Oscar. Your dad will also always love you. It's just that the four of us can't be together. Your mom is sorry she can't give you a complete family. But happiness will come in a different form. You will be happy soon, trust me."
Oscar was coming back soon, as long as her wedding was completed.
Shane turned around, pursed his lips, and said, "I know that you and Dad can't live together. Mom, I accept this fact, I don't blame you! Well, I'm not particularly sad. I'm just angry at what Dad is doing, why is he buying baby clothes with Aunt Ishara? I'm jealous! I'll call him and give him a piece of my mind."
Shane changed the subject, got up, and ran upstairs.
Winnie's arms felt empty, and as she was about to get up, Olivia held her back, looking complicated. "If Shane says that, he's probably letting go of you. It's rare for Lawrence R to come to terms. I thought such a domineering man like him would only demand. So, your wedding with Rock shouldn't face any setbacks, right?"
"Yeah." Winnie smiled with relief. "As they say, new love is the best way to heal old grievances."
Olivia understood that she was referring to Lawrence R and Ishara.
However, what was this jerk Lawrence R really thinking? Was he so quickly accepting Ishara's child? His wavering seemed to show that he didn't love Winnie that much. It was fortunate that he let Winnie go.
Meanwhile upstairs, Shane called Lawrence R, but Luke answered the phone.
"Let my dad answer the phone. I'm angry, I have something to ask him!" Shane was indignant. Oscar hadn't been found yet, but Lawrence R was already showing concern for Ishara's child. Although Oscar and he would definitely live with Mom.
However, his father's love for them seems to be divided, which makes Shane feel heartbroken!
