Chapter 613 Wife

"Luke, Winnie said that she married Rock only because Ishara threatened her with Oscar's life. I want you to investigate this immediately! I suspect Rock is involved in this."

Lawrence's thin lips pressed against the phone, his slender fingers twirling a blue velvet box in his palm.

Luke was very efficient in handling tasks.

A few minutes later, Luke returned his call. "Mr. Rodriguez! I just checked urgently. In the middle of last month, right after Ishara revealed her pregnancy, she met with Winnie! Winnie visited her from her own company, so we were unaware. Interestingly, prior to their meeting, Rock had a private discussion with Ishara.

Lawrence ruthlessly ground out his cigarette, and in a flash, it all made sense.

If Ishara used Oscar to threaten Winnie into marriage, she could threaten her to marry anyone.

Why did she have to marry Rock?

It turned out Rock was meddling behind the scenes. they teamed up to break him and Winnie apart.

Thinking of the child he lost, Rock taunted him, saying he advised Winnie to have an abortion.

A crimson chill swept through Lawrence's eyes, shrouded in darkness.

"Mr. Rodriguez... Where are you right now?" Luke, still cautiously persistent, said, "Everyone in the Rodriguez family is waiting for me to check your message, I..."

Click.

Lawrence decisively hung up.

In the sacred church next to the manor, Lawrence left and returned.

To Winnie's surprise, he had changed into a white suit, looking distinctive and somewhat gentle, the white accentuating his features sharply, but a chill crept into her chest as she saw the small blue velvet box in his hand.

Approaching her, the man forcibly took her hand, and turned to the priest, "Let's begin our wedding."

"I won't." Winnie's eyes shimmered with tears, she kept retreating, trying to escape the church.

But the man embraced her firmly.

She sorrowfully said, "I already had a wedding with Rock at noon, Lawrence!"

"That doesn't count, forget it. Winnie now is our real wedding." He spoke self-assuredly.

"Father, you may begin."

The Caucasian priest smiled and nodded.

He gazed tenderly at Lawrence and asked, "Lawrence, do you take Winnie to be your lawfully wedded wife, to live with her in accordance with God's plan, to share a life of happiness in holy matrimony, and pledge to love, honor, and cherish her, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"

Lawrence's long eyelashes flickered, his throat hoarse but smiling, "I do!"

The priest turned to Winnie, who sat there like a lifeless doll.

"Winnie, do you accept Lawrence as your lawful husband, to live with him according to God's plan, to live happily in holy matrimony, and promise to love, respect, comfort, cherish him, till death do you part."

Winnie's face was desolate, she shook her head resolutely, "I don't..."

"She certainly does!" Before the words were finished, Lawrence answered first, gripping her shoulder a bit harder.

She winced in pain, unable to speak.

Enraged, Winnie lunged at him, pounding him like a madwoman. "This forced wedding is ridiculous. I don't care about your fantasies, I have married ock! I will always be his wife, stop this absurdity... mmm."

Lawrence covered her mouth, his eyes cold and indifferent, suppressing her regardless of what she said.

As he saw the expensive diamond ring on her right hand, his eyes darkened, he removed it and threw it on the ground.

Then, gently placed the pink diamond from the velvet box on her finger.

"Winnie, do you like it?" He smiled.

Winnie tried to pull it off, but it wouldn't budge.

The priest cheerfully said, "The ceremony is complete, groom, you may now kiss the bride."

Wide-eyed, Winnie hadn't reacted before the man leaned down and forcefully sealed her lips.

In an instant, her warmth receded, how ironic, Rock had only just kissed her.

Her conscience tormented her, she bit him repeatedly, but couldn't escape, as the man's thin lips pressed against her trembling ones, intimately entwined.

Only when a trickle of blood slid down his lip did Lawrence release her, casually wiping the blood away, even smirking, "Biting me? Men go crazy when they see blood."

"..."

Winnie no longer recognized him.

This was in a church, with the priest and dozens of servants watching.

Despite her shattered emotions, she maintained her composure, her face flushed, painfully stomping on his white handmade shoes to vent her frustration.

"Go ahead, keep stomping, darling, however, if you want to vent, go ahead." He paid no attention, lightly catching her.

"I can never calm down, this wedding can never be real, let me go!"

Winnie fiercely clutched the pink ring, cursing, and tearfully ran out.

The priest's voice echoed behind her, "Lawrence, Winnie, congratulations."

Ridiculous!

The canopy descended, and Lawrence wasn't worried about where she could run off to.

With a few large strides, he caught up to her on the beach, a princess carry, holding her securely around the waist.

"Behave, let's have our wedding dinner."

"Lawrence, how long will you keep this up? Are you satisfied with your madness?" Winnie was hysterical, "I want to go home! Where am I? Why can't I leave?"

He remained silent.

He carried her straight into the luxurious dining room.

The butler had already instructed the servants, arranging a variety of sumptuous dinners, "Lawrence, I wish you and your wife a pleasant meal. The bridal chamber is also ready."

"Very well, get some wine for the lady."

With a slight smile playing on his lips, Lawrence sat across from Winnie, his dark eyes glowing like a cage in the warm light. He exuded elegance and depth, resembling a noble royal as he unfolded a handkerchief and placed it on his knees.

Winnie, like a puppet, was attended to by the maids, who placed the handkerchief for her.

Another white male servant poured a full glass of red wine for her.

She watched as Lawrence cut into the steak, then slowly passed the plate to her, "Eridia air-freighted this, try it, have some with the wine."

Exhausted, Winnie chose silent resistance.

She pushed the steak slowly to the ground.

Snap. The sharp sound of shattering startled the servants.

The butler, nervously looking at Lawrence, "Lawrence,"

Lawrence calmly took a bite of the steak, his gaze unmoving, shadows dense under his eyelids, "She doesn't like this steak, why not change it?"

The butler, perspiring, promptly assented and hurried off to make arrangements in the kitchen. Shortly after, the head chef brought out another plate and set it down before Lawrence.

With the same care and tenderness, he cut it into small pieces for her. This time, he stood up, elegantly carried the steak, and placed it in front of her.

As Winnie, expressionless, reached out to flip the plate again.

His hot hand pressed down on her delicate hand, his aura suddenly enveloping her, he gently controlled her on the table.

Not in anger, but with interest, he lightly twirled the stray hair near her ear.

As Winnie shivered, Lawrence leaned in, kissing her earlobe, his chest vibrating sensually against her back, "Don't like steak? Honey, tell me what you want, and I'll have it made."

"I am not your wife!" Winnie exploded in anger, her eyes chilling.
