Chapter 600 Carlos's Surgery
Rock was determined to make Lawrence taste the pain of falling from a high place!
He wasn't capable of doing that, but now he had found the right support.
Mars wished Lawrence to die.
Lawrence was on the verge of losing everything.
Rock tightened his fists, but Ronnie's words caused him to furrow his brow.
Although his main objective was to seek revenge on Lawrence, he truly desired to marry Winnie. If the wedding became too extravagant, it might provoke Lawrence and lead him to try and take Winnie back.
He wanted everything to go smoothly during the wedding.
Seeing his hesitation, Ronnie patted his shoulder and said, "Mr. Harrington, it's clear that you are a smart man. Between women and career, which is more important, you should understand."
"Whether you like it or not, Lawrence is very likely to show up at the wedding, and you can't stop him."
"Don't worry, on that day, I will help you deal with him! With the support of the Peterson Group, the Harrington Group will soon rise to the top in Trento City. Your future looks bright!"
Rock's concerns were eased, cold lights were gleaming in his gentle eyes.
He complimented me with a smile and said, "With Mr. Peterson's assurance, I have no worries about my wedding. Lawrence, under your control, is a dead man walking. I'm waiting with bated breath to see Lawrence's fate."
Ronnie squinted as he watched Rock leave.
Mars stepped forward and said, "Uncle, you are insightful. Rock hates Lawrence. When did you find such a good chess piece?"
"It's been a while. Mars, don't underestimate any member. Rock is ambitious, and Lawrence's emotions will be his downfall. Any ambush needs to be planned in advance and executed thoroughly."
Hellen smirked, "Ronnie is the master of ambushes. He will catch Lawrence and Bob off guard."
Winnie attended the opening ceremony of the Harrington Group's company as promised. Rock held her hand when they took pictures.
He knew that Lawrence was not in the country, and Mars was monitoring Lawrence.
After the banquet, Rock, having had some drinks, held Winnie's hand tightly.
Under the moonlight, Winnie walked from the banquet hall to the garden, wanting to go home.
Rock suddenly embraced her.
She moved away slightly, looking back at him. She could tell he had been very happy lately.
"Rock, congratulations on founding the Harrington Group in Trento City and holding your ground," Winnie remarked.
Rock gazed at her tenderly, "That's not what I am happy about."
"What makes you so cheerful then?" Winnie asked.
‘Lawrence is going down, of course, that's worth celebrating!' Rock thought.
Unfortunately, he couldn't tell Winnie yet.
Rock held her delicate hand, contemplating a kiss but paused, giving it a gentle squeeze as he spoke, "Winnie, the wedding dress will be arriving in Lymington in a couple of days.
"I apologize for not having enough time to prepare a perfect dress for you. But I believe you will be the most beautiful bride."
Today, my father said that he and my mom would not meddle in the wedding arrangements."
"Do you want it grand or low-key?"
Winnie lowered her eyes; she didn't want to attract attention, especially from Lawrence.
She smiled and replied, "Let's keep it low-key. After all, this is my second marriage."
"No one would dare say it's your second marriage. You are the most beautiful bride in my eyes." Rock looked at her affectionately and casually mentioned, "If Shane didn't mind, I would have wanted him to be our ring bearer. You are so beautiful and have the genes for twins."
"I am sure that after we marry, we will have other daughters."
"They will form a basketball team together with Shane and Oscar."
Winnie was momentarily stunned upon hearing about childbirth.
Rock lifted her chin gently, his voice soft. "Winnie, even if we avoid these topics, our parents will bring them up. You are young. Don't you want to have children with me?"
Winnie's eyebrows tightened slightly.
She knew they couldn't avoid the topic on their wedding night. She had also said herself that she wasn't marrying Rock for any bad reasons.
After pondering for some time, her furrowed brows slowly eased, and a hint of relief graced her lips. "I'm not avoiding it. However, matters like this should happen naturally. Let's take it slow."
"As long as you're not opposed!" Rock stroked her hair, his tone gentle. "You said you would be sincere with me."
"Certainly." Winnie let out a quiet breath, adjusted her demeanor, and turned to look at him earnestly. "Rock, I wish to live a fulfilling life with you. Once we're married, you are my husband, and nothing else or no one else will matter to me."
Rock's emotions fluctuated, revealing a smile.
Even though he understood that she was marrying him to rescue Oscar, it was clear that she was genuinely moving on from Lawrence.
Winnie reminded herself once again that Rock was someone she could trust. After enduring so much pain, this time, she wanted to grow old with Rock and never think of Lawrence again.
Soon, half a month passed.
Carlos was finally sent into the operating room, where Winnie and Rock waited. After a grueling eight-hour surgery, Dr. Ivan finally came out of the operating room.
Having comforted Winnie, Rock strode over swiftly and inquired, "Doctor, how did it go?"
Dr. Ivan took off his mask, nodded at Rock and Winnie, and said, The surgery was successful. Mr. Blanchet's intracranial hemorrhage and nerve damage have been repaired. His chances of regaining consciousness depend on his ability to heal himself. We will be monitoring him closely for the next 24 hours. You can check on him once he is out of the critical stage. "
Winnie was expecting this outcome, but she couldn't help feeling disappointed, hoping for a miracle.
"Winnie, don't be sad. Dr. Ivan said that Carlos' nerves have been repaired, didn't you hear? Maybe he will wake up on his own after some time," Rock comforted Winnie.
Olivia also approached them and whispered, "Our goal was to stop Patrick. Now that Mr. Blanchet's surgery went well, his chances of recovery are high. It's just a pity that he won't be able to see you get married. If the wedding is postponed..."
"Miss Smith, our wedding is in three days. Are you trying to ruin it?" Rock smiled bluntly, a hint of coldness hidden in his eyes.
Olivia felt the undercurrent of discontent in his words. Somehow, Rock seemed to be shedding his former gentlemanliness, his rough edges coming to the fore, growing increasingly sharp.
Feeling uncomfortable and even a little chilled, Olivia, mindful of Winnie, stuck out her tongue and said with a smile, "Mr. Harrington, you know I'm blunt. I meant it would be nice if Mr. Blanchet could see Winnie get married."
