Chapter 752 Administering Medicine
Rock said, "Dad, I'm sorry it took me a few days after you woke up to come visit you."
Rock gently sat by Carlos's bedside. "Firstly, I was afraid Winnie hadn't fully explained our marriage yet, and I didn't want to startle you. Secondly, Winnie said you had been in a coma for so long that your hearing and vision hadn't fully recovered, and I didn't want to add to the confusion."
Carlos remembered Rock. Previously, Rock had helped Winnie multiple times, and they were already engaged at the Blanchet Villa.
However, before Carlos fell into a coma, Winnie and Lawrence still had many unresolved issues.
He didn't expect that in these four months, Winnie would ultimately choose Rock.
Carlos didn't know what had happened during this time, but the outcome was likely because Lawrence had completely broken Winnie's heart.
He preferred that Winnie chose a man who would treat her well.
Carlos asked, "Rock, will you be good to my daughter for the rest of your life?"
Carlos's speech was still unclear, but he asked with a serious expression.
Rock solemnly replied, "Dad, please rest assured, Winnie and I made vows to each other at our wedding. Before the wedding, we specifically came to visit you. She believed you would respect her decision to marry me although it was a pity you couldn't see it personally. Now, Winnie and I are living together happily."
Carlos took a deep breath.
His vision hadn't recovered, and he could only see Rock's blurry silhouette.
These words were similar to what Winnie had told him.
However, he always felt a bit sensitive. he always felt that Winnie didn't seem that happy.
Carlos coughed. "If you love her, you must find ways to make her happy, and love her two children as well."
"Of course, I will." Rock stood up and quickly helped him adjust his breathing mask. "Dad, are you okay?
He asked the caretaker. "Does he need to take his medication?"
"Yes, Mr. Harrington, I was about to give Mr. Blanchet his medication." The caretaker held a tray with the pills already sorted.
Rock glanced at it and took it with a smile. "I must have interrupted. How about letting me feed him his medicine? I also want to chat with him."
The caretaker hesitated because Winnie had instructed that she personally handle the medication each time.
"With you here, there are some Blanchet Family matters I can't discuss with him." Rock squinted his eyes, looking troubled.
Carlos frowned upon hearing about the Blanchet Family.
These days, when Winnie visited him, she never mentioned what had happened in the Blanchet Family, only that she was now a director at the Blanchet Group.
He had a feeling that something had happened in the Blanchet Family, but Winnie wouldn't say.
"You can go out and stand by the door," Carlos said to the caretaker.
Upon hearing Carlos's words, the caretaker reluctantly handed the medicine to Rock, providing him with instructions on its usage.
Then, the caretaker walked to the door.
In that moment, Rock quietly dropped the pill he was holding into the water cup.
The pill quickly dissolved.
A dark glint flashed in his otherwise gentle eyes.
"Dad, time to take your medication!" Rock naturally helped Carlos sit up.
Carlos grabbed the pills from the table. Although he couldn't see clearly, he carefully counted them before putting them in his mouth.
He took the water cup from Rock and drank it in a few gulps.
The cup was completely empty, and Rock's clenched fist relaxed.
Carlos, concerned about the Blanchet Family, asked, "Rock, Winnie won't tell me. Can you tell me what has happened in the Blanchet Family these past few months?"
Rock watched his reaction after drinking the medication.
He sighed, "Dad, a lot has happened in the Blanchet Family. Winnie didn't tell you because she was afraid you'd be angry and upset. But since you really want to know, I can't hide it from you."
"What exactly happened?" Carlos's expression suddenly became grim.
Rock leaned closer to the bed and lowered his voice. "Actually, the incident where you were shot and seriously injured was orchestrated by Patrick and Eleanor."
He added, "This is a family feud within the Blanchet Family. The two of them have been secretly involved for years. After you were hospitalized, Mr. Blanchet let Patrick take over the company. Patrick and Eleanor controlled the Blanchet Group for over four months. Fortunately, recently, Winnie caught Patrick's wrongdoing, and with my help, we drove Patrick and Eleanor out of the company. I suggested that Winnie become the director, and now the company is basically stabilized."
Carlos clenched the bedsheet with his fingers, full of disbelief. "How could Patrick betray me? He has been paralyzed with a leg disability since childhood. Patrick and Eleanor have actually done such a thing!"
Rock said, "Dad, don't get agitated. In the end, we managed to take back the Blanchet Group."
Rock subtly emphasized his contribution to Carlos.
Carlos looked at him with vacant eyes. "Thank you, Rock. Have you always been supporting Winnie?"
Rock replied, "Of course, we are married. Winnie wants to protect the Blanchet Group for you, and I will do everything I can to help."
"My head suddenly feels dizzy!" Carlos clutched his head, frowning in pain.
Rock immediately squinted and turned to call the caretaker. "My father-in-law is feeling unwell. Go get the doctor."
The caretaker, seeing Carlos in pain, panicked and ran out.
"Dad?" Rock looked over.
Carlos looked confused, staring blankly at one spot. "Why am I so dizzy, Rock? What did you just say? I suddenly can't remember."
Rock observed him, the symptoms matched what Ishara had described after taking the medication.
He slowly took out a small bell and placed it in front of Carlos. "Dad, look at this bell. Remember what I just said. I am the benefactor of the Blanchet Family, the only man who is good to Winnie. You will tell Winnie to agree to the cooperation between the Blanchet Group and the Harrington Group. I need to hold a high position in the Blanchet Group. Do you understand?"
Carlos nodded dazedly. "Yes, I understand. I will tell her."
Watching Carlos like an obedient puppet, Rock coldly smirked.
Ishara's lab was indeed impressive. These drugs were surprisingly effective.
With Carlos's intervention, would Winnie dare not listen to him?
The Blanchet Group would be his sooner or later.
The caretaker returned with the doctor, only to see Rock carefully tucking Carlos in, and Carlos seemed to be asleep.
Rock stood up and gently stopped the doctor. "He just fell asleep. He suddenly said he was tired. It's my fault; I talked to him for too long. With me taking care of him, don't you feel reassured?"
