Chapter 9 The company is seized

Winnie stood in front of the tall building that housed Triton Company, gazing deeply at the building, she thought of Eternity Jewelry Co Ltd which was originally inherited from her maternal grandfather.

When she turned twenty, she took over and managed to develop it in just three years. Originally, she wholeheartedly supported Daniel and let him be the president, while she took on the role of general manager, silently helping him.

Winnie had always thought that they would be a family in the future, but in just ten short days... everything had changed!

Winnie clenched her fists and went straight to the top floor shareholder meeting room. The door was not closed, so Winnie walked in and suddenly saw two intertwined figures on the conference table.

Ava was pinned down by Daniel, a tall man, who was passionately kissing her neck. Ava's smug eyes looked at Winnie, her voice weakly saying, "Daniel, this is Winnie's favorite table..."

Since the day of the kidnapping, Winnie's had already given up hope. But the scene in front of her still made her feel pain. She had used to foolishly believe that on this conference table, Daniel would sit at the head with her by his side, perfectly in love together. She liked to sketch on this table because it was a memento left by her grandfather.

How many times had they defiled it? She shuddered at the thought.

Winnie stared directly at Ava's mocking smile. Since Ava had provoked her, Winnie would satisfy her. Winnie picked up a glass of water and coldly poured it on Ava.

"Ah!" Ava was soaked, she turned her head in shock and exclaimed, "Winnie?"

Daniel suddenly turned his head and saw Winnie, his face stiffening. A complex emotion flashed in his eyes. Daniel was startled by Ava who weakly hid in his embrace, as he glanced down to noticing the Ava’s injured hand.

Daniel furrowed his brows and asked, "Ava, what happened to your right hand?"

Ava looked at Winnie aggrievedly and said, "Yesterday, when my parents and I picked Winnie up, Winnie stabbed me out of anger..."

"What?!" The wound was not minor, and Daniel's face immediately darkened. "Winnie, they kindly picked you up, and you hurt Ava. You've gone too far!"

Winnie couldn't help but want to laugh. Even a numb heart would still bleed. She looked at the man she had used to love. It was not excessive for them to kidnap her, but it was excessive for her to hurt Ava's hand.

Ava hid in Daniel's embrace, feeling triumphant. She knew best that Daniel loved the weak. Wasn't the previous Winnie too good, suppressing him too hard?

Otherwise, how could he end up in her bed? She smiled inwardly. Yesterday, this despicable woman had dared to beat her and her mother, but today, it was her turn to suffer.

"Daniel, don't blame Winnie," Ava sobbed.

Winnie walked over and sneered, "Did you hear that? She's telling you not to blame me, so maybe it doesn't hurt." As she said this, she grabbed Ava's hand and pressed the pen against the wound on the table forcefully.

"Ah! Ah!" Ava let out a scream.

"Winnie!" Daniel's face turned dark and menacing.

Winnie extended her right hand, still healing from being stepped on, towards him. "An eye for an eye. When will you repay my life?"

Looking at her cold and delicate face, Daniel felt a sudden shock. A hint of guilt flashed through his mind. If she hadn't been so controlling over the company, he wouldn't have entertained that thought.

Ava sobbed weakly, "Daniel, Winnie still blames us."

In reality, Ava was reminding Daniel that Winnie was here to collect her debt. Daniel suppressed his astonishment at Winnie's icy gaze and coldly asked, "You're no longer the general manager of Triton, so what are you doing here?"
Ava nestled against Daniel, revealing the title "General Manager" on her chest.

Winnie's gaze turned even colder.

Once, this man had made a promise to her, "Winnie, you will always be my general manager."

She sneered sarcastically, glaring at Daniel. Without another word, she went to open the doors. Outside, all the shareholders were standing. Clearly, everyone had heard that Winnie was here and hesitated to come in.

Winnie returned to her position as the general manager, composed and calm. "Please take a seat, everyone."

Her confidence emanated from years of honing her skills and business acumen, which was completely different from her delicate and beautiful face. Everyone feared her, but now that she had stepped down, many shareholders no longer followed her command and instead looked towards Daniel.

Daniel glanced coldly at Winnie, annoyed by her dominant nature. She had never shown him any respect before.

Ava gently comforted the man, "Don't be angry. Winnie has always been like this."

Winnie ignored the two of them completely. With a cold smile, she faced everyone and said, "I am the legal representative of Triton. I heard that today the shareholders are voting to transfer the ownership to Daniel and Ava? Well, I'm still alive, everyone. A forged will becomes null and void."

Daniel looked at her proudly raised head, his gaze bewildered, but his lips pursed.

Ava immediately stood up, sadly presenting a medical record.

"Winnie, we're all glad to see that you're fine. However, you have been sick for a long time. Chairman Davis had no choice but to let you go home and rest. The medical record proves your severe nervous breakdown and mental trauma, rendering you incapable of managing the company."

Winnie abruptly turned her head, the cold gleam in her eyes momentarily freezing Ava.

But when she looked at Daniel, who remained silent, she became confident. She handed the medical record to Winnie. "See for yourself."

Winnie looked at the 'medical record' in disbelief, then raised her head to look at Daniel.

It was a record of her short-term anxiety disorder that she had suffered due to the pressure of helping him with a project in the past. She had sought medical treatment and left behind the record, which only Daniel knew about.

He had taken this record and presented it to the Anderson family, forging it to make it seem like she had a nervous breakdown and mental illness.

There was no honor among thieves. Her prime years had been ruined by him. Giving in had become the blade that would expel her in the future. Winnie sneered, almost laughing out loud.

Immediately, there was a shareholder exclaiming, "There is a hospital seal, it's real!"

"It’s fake! My tone and thoughts are clear. Can't everyone see that?" Winnie coldly shouted.

Her composed demeanor had always been astonishing, leaving the shareholders momentarily unable to respond.

At this moment, one of the smaller shareholders glanced at Ava discreetly and spoke up, "Winnie, you have been withholding our dividends and mismanaging the company. The rapid development of the company is all thanks to Mr. Davis's orders and Ava's popular jewelry designs!"

"That's right, the company has survived these years because of Mr. Davis's orders, and Ava's jewelry designs have been selling well. Even if you weren't sick, you wouldn't be qualified to manage the company."

Winnie paused and smiled coldly.

Yes, in the past, she had always been the one to shoulder the blame. To save face for Daniel, she had handed over all the orders to him.

For the sake of hearing Daniel say "I love you," she had continuously drawn sketches for Ava because Daniel said he wanted to nurture Ava into the face of the company, so that she could have more time to be his wife.

But all of this was a lie!

"Winnie, you are too strict in managing the company and lack the ability. Just focus on your illness! All those in favor of Winnie's withdrawal, raise your hand!"

Instantly, four or five shareholders raised their hands, causing the others to follow suit and slowly raised their hands.

Ava looked at Winnie with a satisfied and evil glint in her eyes.

Winnie's face turned pale, indifferently witnessing the world’s cruelty. It was not difficult to understand that the Anderson family was currently in power, and she had been labeled as mentally ill. Who dared to stand by her side?

This scheme to deprive her of power had been carefully planned probably by her own family. Today, it seemed like she would not get what she wanted, but she would eventually regain control of the company.

At this moment, Daniel stood up and announced, "The change of the company's legal representative has been successful."

"I appoint Ava as the general manager, and everyone shall follow her lead from now on!"

Ava looked over with concealed satisfaction and approached Winnie, hypocritically extending her hand. "Winnie, take good care of your illness. You can still return to the company in the future."

Winnie pushed her hand away. "Don't touch me, it's disgusting."

Ava's face turned ugly. "You!"

Just as she was about to lose her temper, a group of people walked in from outside.
