Chapter 950 Interrogation
Ray and Winnie were on the same page.
From the evidence they had, it was clear Mia had been kidnapped.
Was Lynn really so desperate that she would drag Mia down with her?
Who was the mastermind behind this wretched woman?
She knew that the official paternity test agency wouldn't keep the original hair samples. Only the results were kept after the test was done. If a retest were needed, new hair samples would have to be provided. This was the law for forensic testing.
So, she wanted to kill Mia?
To prevent Jeremy from ever doing another paternity test, making it impossible to confirm Mia was his daughter. Plus, Louis might not believe the damaged paper report. She wanted Mia's true identity to remain hidden forever!
How ruthless!
Winnie's face turned icy, a chilling coldness emanating from her. She strode over to Jeremy, gritting her teeth as she spoke in a low voice, "It's Lynn. She must know I revealed the truth to your family, the DeRoss Family.
She's terrified that Olivia and Mia will resurface and that your family will come after her. In her panic, she decided to kidnap Mia and destroy the evidence.
To find Mia, you need to find her first!"
Olivia's strong heart shattered at the mention of "destroy the evidence." She was heartbroken, "Jeremy, Jeremy…"
"Don't worry, I will save our daughter." Jeremy supported her as she nearly collapsed, then turned and jumped into the street, his body radiating intense anger. "Ms. Anderson, please keep Olivia calm and stay with her.
Ray! Access the traffic cameras immediately and notify the police to send in the SWAT team. We need to track Mia's whereabouts! As for Lynn, I'm going to deal with her right now."
His eyes were filled with a terrifying rage. Winnie saw it and prayed that Mia would be safe. How could Lynn harm such a small child? Winnie, who had children of her own, felt immense guilt.
This was partly her and Ray's oversight.
"Olivia, I'm so sorry…"
"Don't say that. I just hope Jeremy can get the information from Lynn. Mia is not even three years old. If anything happens to her, I don't want to live…" Olivia cried, heartbroken.
"Don't say such things. Lynn must have lost her mind. Otherwise, why would she not realize that touching Jeremy's child would be her end? The crimes she's committed before are nothing compared to this. Jeremy will tear her apart for this."
Olivia shook her head, "I think it's more complicated than that. Lynn doesn't seem smart enough to plan this.
And you don't know her. Lynn's jealousy of me has twisted her completely. She would rather die than see me happy!
Now I understand why she resents Mia so much. I found out the truth too late…"
Olivia wiped her tears, gathering her strength, "I can't just sit here. Mia must be so scared. She's waiting for me to save her…
Mr. Martin, Winnie, do you have a laptop in your car? I need to hack into the traffic cameras on this route right now!"
Winnie saw Olivia's determination and knew she was holding back immense grief. She nodded, walking to her car, "I have a laptop in the car."
"Give it to me!" Olivia wiped her tears, breathing heavily.
At the Lymington Police Station—
The door to the holding cell creaked open, and Lynn looked up, startled.
A police officer approached, his face blank. "Lynn, you're free to go."
Free to go?
Lynn was suspicious. "Did my lawyer bail me out?"
"Yes." The officer stood in the dimly lit doorway, his response vague.
Lynn wanted to get out of there. She knew what she had done would soon bring Jeremy to her door. She had already told Noah to bribe the police to release her so they could escape. Only with freedom could she gain the upper hand in Mia's kidnapping.
It seemed Darcy had handled things smoothly. She was always cunning.
Lynn quickly left the holding cell, collected her belongings, and contacted Liliana to arrange a car and bodyguards as she walked out of the station…
But as she looked up, the sky darkened, and a tall, cold figure stood at the police station entrance.
His tall, imposing figure was like a grim reaper from hell.
He still wore his rimless glasses on his straight nose, looking refined and scholarly, but the light in his eyes was chilling. When it fell on her face, she felt a coldness that cut to the bone.
Lynn's phone nearly slipped from her trembling hand. "Jeremy..."
Her face turned pale. She realized she had been tricked.
It wasn't her lawyer who bailed her out. It was Jeremy.
He had arrived so quickly? Lynn hesitated for a moment, then turned and ran back. "No, Sir, I don't want to be bailed out. Lock me back up!"
Staying in the police station was safer than being in Jeremy's hands. No matter how powerful he was in Lymington, he couldn't harm her in the police station.
That's why Lynn dared to act against Mia now, because she was in custody.
"I want to go back to the holding cell..."
"Grab that woman and bring her here!" Jeremy's voice was cold and impatient. He signaled his bodyguards, glaring at Lynn's retreating figure, veins bulging. "Lynn, you're dead."
"No." Lynn ran into the police station lobby like a headless chicken.
But no officers helped her. Her face turned pale, and she grabbed an officer's arm in panic. "You see this? Jeremy is attacking me in the police station. You have to protect me!"
The officer shook off her hand, seeing Jeremy walk in calmly. The officers lowered their heads and stepped back.
Lynn's eyes widened. She hadn't expected Jeremy's influence to silence the entire police station.
Was this his power in Lymington?
For the first time, she was truly terrified. But she had no way out. She ran around the lobby, and Jeremy quickly caught up, grabbing her hair.
He never stooped to hitting women, but now he dragged Lynn out of the station by her hair. Her legs dragged on the ground as she screamed in terror and pain. "Jeremy… what are you doing? Why are you doing this to me?"
"Playing dumb?" Jeremy's face was cold and ruthless. He yanked her hair so hard her scalp felt like it was being torn off. In pain, she cried out, and Jeremy glared at her, cursing, "Bitch, I know everything. Mia is my daughter. You deceived me! To cover it up, you kidnapped her. Tell me where she is, or I'll tear you apart piece by piece!"
