Chapter 822 He Is Not Mia's Biological Father

Jeremy's glasses flashed as he glanced at Olivia.

She was petite, and he was so tall that he could easily see the top of her soft head. Her naturally curly hair framed her small face, making her look very cute.

He moved his thin lips. "Mia called me today, crying a lot. She thought I was dead, so I want to go see her."

He was seeking her opinion.

"Huh?" Olivia was stunned, feeling secretly annoyed.

How did Mia get in touch with Jeremy? She had gone to see Mia last night and hadn't mentioned Jeremy at all.

It was probably Sidney or Oscar who shared the news.

Mia was particularly attached to Jeremy and very smart, but she had been really down since Jeremy disappeared. Olivia couldn't refuse, "Well... then you can come with me to see her."

"Okay, I'll get the car. You wait here." Jeremy waved his hand, signaling her not to move.

Jeremy strode down the steps, his lean body and sharp demeanor exuding a manly aura that Olivia couldn't forget.

His back was so handsome that she stared at it for a long time, her heart pounding uncontrollably.

When Jeremy drove the car over, she quickly lowered her eyes.

They didn't talk much on the way.

The suffocating silence was completely broken by Mia when they returned to the Dazzling Estate villa.

"Jeremy, you're finally back. I... I thought you were dead and cried for a month." Seeing Jeremy, Mia ran up to him, acting spoiled.

She had been waiting at the door for a long time, with a few snowflakes falling in the winter. The nanny had wrapped her up, and she wore a red little cloak, with tears in her eyes.

Seeing this, Jeremy's heart melted completely.

He didn't know why he liked Mia so much.

Especially after Olivia brought her to Trento City, his feelings for Mia grew day by day.

After all, she was Sam's child, carrying a family connection.

"Come here, let me hold you." He squatted down, opening his strong arms.

Mia quickly climbed onto him.

"Mia." Olivia gave a subtle look, a bit gritting her teeth and embarrassed, "How many times have I told you not to always let Jeremy hold you? He's not..."

"He is, he is!" Mia shouted, ignoring Olivia, "I know he's my daddy. I only want a handsome man like Jeremy to be my daddy! Daddy, okay?"

She snuggled into Jeremy's neck.

That milky scent made it hard for Jeremy to say 'no.' He glanced at Olivia with a slight smile, "Does it bother you that much?"

His eyes were particularly deep under the light, seemingly holding some other meaning.

Olivia couldn't understand what it was. Was it a test?

Her heart raced, avoiding his gaze, "But you are not."

"Mia likes it, so calling me daddy isn't a big deal. She lacks fatherly love; you don't have to be so strict with her, do you? Making her unhappy, does that make you feel better?" Jeremy retorted, seemingly unconcerned.

Olivia felt uncomfortable hearing his words.

He was playing the good guy in front of Mia.

But in the future, when Mia understood, how would she explain this awkward relationship, saying Jeremy was her uncle?

"I don't get you. You're an unmarried man; don't you mind being called someone else's dad?" Olivia frowned, countering.

"I don't mind." Jeremy's deep voice was gentle.

His eyes looked at her again, very straightforward, "I like Mia. If I could be her dad, it wouldn't be a problem."

"What do you mean?"

His gaze confused her.

The temperature on her face even rose with her quickening heartbeat.

Was he saying that because he liked Mia, he could be with her? Was that what he meant?

"If you mind me being her dad so much, don't overthink it. I don't plan to interfere in your lives. Who knows what you plan for your future? Didn't you say last night that you wanted to marry Sam?"

Before Olivia could think more, her heart fluttering slightly, a bucket of cold water was suddenly poured over her.

Her eyes dimmed, biting her lip as she glared at him, "Did I say I wanted to marry Sam? That was just because you made me angry!"

"Don't you want to marry him?" Jeremy squinted his eyes.

"Of course not! Do I have a masochistic tendency?" Olivia retorted sharply, "Do you think I'm a resigned woman who would humbly marry the man who once humiliated me?"

When she got emotional, she clenched her fists, her eyes slightly teary.

Jeremy's heart tightened, his big hand reaching over Mia's shoulder to grab her wrist, hurriedly explaining, "That's not what I meant. I just thought you seemed to plan on getting married in the future, and it made me angry."

Olivia found it amusing, thinking, 'Why are you angry? What does it have to do with you?'

But she pouted, swallowed, and asked, "Why are you angry?"

"Just upset that you didn't put Mia first. If you get married, what about her? Will she be mistreated by a stepfather? Have you thought about her?" Jeremy's expression was stern, hiding his true feelings.

In fact, he was just angry, not wanting to see Olivia belong to another man!

"That's none of your business." Olivia didn't get the answer she wanted, feeling unhappy, and mocked lightly, "Sam doesn't worry about Mia's future, so you don't need to either."

Jeremy was angry, coldly glancing at her wind-blown pale face, "Do you have to provoke me? Can't you talk nicely?"

"I am talking nicely, just stating the facts. Mr. DeRoss, don't worry about things that don't concern you!"

"Daddy, Mommy, what are you arguing about? Who is Sam?" Mia was upset seeing them argue, not understanding a word, and anxiously interrupted, "I'm so cold."

At this point, the two adults realized how long they had been arguing in the snowy night at the door.

Jeremy, looking apologetic, picked up Mia, "Sorry, Daddy neglected you. Let's go inside."

"Mia." Olivia wanted to catch up and take Mia.

But she suddenly heard him call himself 'Daddy,' and she rolled her eyes, speechless.

He was willing to be Mia's dad? Too bad, he was not.

Olivia sighed inwardly, watching him carry Mia, thinking, if only he were Mia's real dad.

All the troubles would be gone.

But three years ago, she was humiliated by Sam, so it was impossible.

"The caregiver has made dinner. Daddy, Mommy, let's eat together!" Mia enthusiastically pulled Jeremy to sit down.

Olivia had no choice but to go to the kitchen and get three sets of utensils.
