Chapter 226 He Has No Interest in Her

Darcy couldn't hide it anymore and could only lament, "I don't know what's going on. I should have been okay tonight!"

"If you're on your period, you should rest well. It's not urgent," he replied, relieved to get this answer. He hugged her shoulder and comforted, "Besides, I'm not in the right state tonight. I don't want to leave a bad impression on you, Darcy. Get some rest!"

His tone was overly calm. Darcy, being intelligent, suddenly thought of the ginger soup she had earlier. Her gaze froze for a moment, revealing a hint of paleness while trying to probe him.

Lawrence R's gaze was tender, and he didn't avoid her. There was a hint of depth in his calm eyes. Clenching her fists, Darcy couldn't muster the courage to question him. He helped her put on her clothes, carried her gently to the bed, and touched her forehead.

"Sleep well, my good girl." He turned off the lights and walked out indifferently.

In the pitch-dark room, Darcy soon heard the sound of the living room door closing downstairs. She hated him so much that she gritted her teeth. Barefoot, she rushed downstairs and picked up the bowl of ginger soup from the table.

Deceived by him, she had drunk it hurriedly, but now she could discern an unusual medicinal smell. She realized she had fallen into a trap! Darcy secretly pressed her nails into her palm, a mixture of embarrassment and anger making her smash the bowl hard!

To prevent anything from happening between them, he had deliberately prepared the medicine to make her menstruate earlier. How could he! his thoughts were truly sinister, and yet he had such an indifferent expression that no one could detect!

Why? Why won't he be intimate with me? Darcy felt her head was about to explode. Initially, she thought it was because he lacked the ‘romantic’ mood, but now she finally understood that he had no interest in her.

He didn't love her, he had looked so calm when he saw her revealing her body. It's all because of Winnie. He still cherished that wretched woman's body, which is why he didn't care about her!

It's all that fox's fault. Even after the divorce, she was still trampling on her, embarrassing her on her engagement night. Darcy hated her to the bone, her face contorted. As long as that wretched woman didn't disappear, Mr. L's thoughts wouldn't return to her! She began to contemplate coldly.

Lawrence R came to the apartment alone, standing by the desk window and smoking, his tall figure desolate. Luke felt that the CEO was deeply troubled, his lonely figure keeping others at a distance.

He left the villa estate, he had little contact with Miss Ordelia. His thoughts were visibly not on her. Tonight, he might have to sit alone until dawn. Luke had prepared everything, as instructed and seeing the man's intense action of crushing the cigarette, he looked once again at that deep and pale handsome face, unable to help but comfort.

"Mr. Rodriguez, she won't belong to anyone else, but to you. Are you sure you want to do this?" The man closed his eyes deeply, his slender fingers against his temple, silent and ruthless.

Rock arrived late at night, to the apartment. Winnie and her two close friends were making spicy sandwiches, and the aroma drifted out of the kitchen.

"What's so delicious and tempting?" Rock smiled. Behind him were the manager from the company's venture capital and two female stylists, carrying several luxurious dresses.

"We're making sandwiches to eat," Winnie smiled. Rock glanced at her two friends and gently pulled Winnie over, his voice gentle, "I was worried about your mood today and didn't dare to disturb you rashly.”

“I thought it would make you even sadder, but it turns out that two beautiful ladies have comforted you. Thank you to them."

“Mr. Harrington, do you have to be so sweet?” Olivia muttered. "Mr. Harrington?" He didn't understand.

Laura laughed, "Olivia's former fiancé, Jason, you're familiar with him, right?"

Rock was taken aback and looked at Winnie, shaking his head, "I'm not familiar with him. My nephew is such a scumbag, we are not on the same side."

Olivia laughed mischievously, poked Winnie, and whispered, "He's good at making you happy. This old man really knows how to sweet talk."

"Miss Smith, I can hear you," the man said helplessly. Winnie's mouth twitched. Why did it feel like Rock instantly captured the favor of her two close friends?

She changed the topic, "Mr. Harrington, do you have something to say?"

"A lot of things. We're getting engaged tomorrow, and there are many preparations to be made today. But I'm afraid you'll be unhappy. The dresses just arrived at this hour. Of course, the most important thing is a funding document that needs your signature."

The man snapped his fingers elegantly, and the manager handed over a contract. Winnie glanced at it, surprised and somewhat moved, "Rock, $2 billion investment in Triton is not a small amount. The situation is unstable now. Will this reveal our engagement plans?"

"Fool, as long as you see Triton getting better step by step! Leave the rest to me. I promise to fulfill the investment before our engagement." He was so trustworthy that it made her feel inferior.

"A $2 billion investment, Mr. Rodriguez is being generous. Let's just consider it as a dowry." Olivia liked to tease.

Winnie glared at her, "You all know that he and I are actually..."

“Don't spill the beans, Mr. Harrington is taking it seriously. Even if it's fake, there's plenty of time, and if conditions permit, it can become real." Olivia looked at Rock's doting gaze and couldn't help but advise, "Winnie, after the engagement tomorrow, everything will become clear. You need to change your mindset and live differently."

“You have a best friend and a man who supports you. What else do you fear? Leave behind everything from before and think about the child, your uncle, and your cousin."

Yes, Winnie had planned to rely on Rock's help to save her uncle after the engagement. Lawrence R is already engaged and deeply in love with Darcy. It's time to let go of love, hate, and infatuation and move towards a new direction.

With his actions today, he bid farewell to everything they had. She took a deep breath, Triton will be revived with the injection of capital, and her life will improve, right? It seemed that tonight became a turning point, and she hastily bid farewell to the past.

"Alright, I will gather my spirits and face the new life, earning money to support the baby." She smiled slightly.

"You don't have to worry about earning money to support the baby. You're a female boss, and the Harrington Group is so wealthy," Olivia reassured, holding her hand. "Let's do our best together."

"Okay, we won't disturb Mr. Harrington in arranging tomorrow's banquet. See you in the morning." The two best friends left in a hurry, not wanting to be a third wheel.

The apartment fell silent for a while, and Winnie pretended to be nonchalant as she picked up the dress. "I'll go try on the size."

"Looking forward to it," Rock gestured gently.

The man looked around the somewhat modest apartment and said in a warm and loud voice, "It looks a bit shabby here, but I've already picked out the baby crib, the same blue color. The baby will definitely like it."

He turned his head and his voice abruptly stopped, stunned by what he saw. The woman walking out of the bathroom in a champagne-colored dress moved gracefully, her body wrapped in curves everywhere except her swollen belly.

Her skin was so delicate it could be pierced with a needle, snow-white and flawless, without any makeup on her face. She casually pinned up her long hair, but it exuded an extraordinary beauty.

Her eyes, despite being calm, inexplicably ignited the fire within Rock as a man. His Adam's apple twitched slightly, and he pressed his hand against his lips, his gaze deep and intense. His voice was low, "You look stunning, Winnie."

Winnie awkwardly clutched her skirt, feeling uncomfortable being praised by a stranger. Her cheeks had a faint blush under the light.

She quickly smiled in a work-like manner, "As long as it fits, tomorrow is just a formality!"

He couldn't help himself and walked over, gently pulling her into his embrace. When Winnie struggled, Rock tightened his arms. "You truly captivate me. I'm sorry, let me hug you, just for a moment, please?"
