Chapter 239 Forsaking Husband and Child.

"It's yours! Winnie seems to have given birth here. I'm sorry, Mr. L, I came late. Winnie is nowhere to be found now, leaving behind a child..."

"Here, poor little thing, it's so small, barely even crying, seems to not be breathing..."
Lawrence R felt as if all the blood had been drained from his body.

"Winnie had a premature birth? Where did she go? Did she leave their child here?"

A series of information struck his mind, rendering him unable to think. His heart sank, and he quickly ran to Darcy's side. The woman, with a face full of injuries, held up a flashlight and anxiously shone it on the ground.
"The baby is too small, I don't dare to move. Ray called earlier and said he had contacted you, so I've been waiting for you..."

Lawrence R's gaze fell upon the stone mortar, filled with unease. Then, his pupils turned blood-red, filled with a murderous intent.

How pitiful that wrinkled little thing must be, not even having a decent cloth to swaddle in!
And it was abandoned by its mother, discarded like trash under the stone mortar on this cold spring night, with the biting sea breeze.

At that moment, Lawrence R's heart, no matter how cold, hard, and strong, crucified Winnie.
They had so eagerly anticipated this child.

Despite Winnie's repeated betrayals, he couldn't help but value the child they were supposed to have.

Now lying here, so small, smaller than the palm of his hand, covered in blood, almost transparent, gently swaying in the cold wind.

Lawrence R's pupils turned red. His hands trembled lightly as he cautiously picked it up, placing it in his broad embrace. He took off his coat and covered the premature body, his thin lips pressed tightly together, his voice filled with dampness. "Daddy's late, I'm sorry, child."

"Mr. Rodriguez..." Luke saw his dazed and terrified expression.

"Get the doctor from the cabin over here, quickly!!" he yelled, veins popping on his temples. He suddenly stood up, like a mad lion searching frantically in the forest.

"Luke, find her and the other one! They are twins, there's another one!"

Luke felt his helplessness, seeing a towering man with tears shimmering in his eyes.
"Mr. Rodriguez, please calm down, I'll find Miss Anderson right away!"

"Mr. L, don't bother looking!" Darcy walked over crying, "When Jeffery and I came here earlier, we only found this child. Winnie was nowhere to be seen. Jeffery followed a trail of blood along the road for dozens of meters, then it suddenly disappeared."

"What scares me the most is that another part of the blood trail rolled down the slope, perhaps indicating that Winnie threw the other child off the cliff."

"..." Lawrence R stared at Darcy with icy coldness. He couldn't understand a word she was saying.

Meanwhile, Luke's expression had already changed drastically as he used his phone's light source to carefully examine the slope. Indeed, there was a two-meter-long bloodstain.

Lawrence R's gaze turned crimson. He brought the doctor, kicked him down on the slope, and with a chilling voice infused with the coldness of hell, he demanded, "Tell me, is it the blood of the other child?"

"Is that so? Really?" Lawrence demanded.

"Mr. L, please calm down," Darcy approached pretending to care.

"Shut up." Lawrence emanated fire as he spoke.

The doctor took a drop of blood using a testing instrument, quickly analyzed it, and then lowered his head. "Mr. Rodriguez, I'm sorry, but this is the baby's blood. It hasn't dried yet."

Lawrence R was stunned, holding his surviving child in his arms, staring blankly towards the edge of the cliff. Below the edge lay the boundless sea.

The chill of spring penetrated their bones, as the sea breeze cut through them. The white waves crashed against the mountainside, while distant flickers of light signaled the presence of a ship.

He couldn't believe it. His handsome lips turned pale, and he let out a sarcastic laugh, shaking his head repeatedly.

Darcy's eyes flashed a cold light, constantly suggesting, "There is a large bloodstain on the side of the road. I think it's Winnie. She...she ran away. Maybe she was in a hurry to escape from the sanatorium, anxious to save Rock. She doesn't even care about the child anymore!”

“Alternatively, she might hate you for keeping her in the sanatorium, so in a fit of anger, she threw the child down. Whichever possibility, discarding one and abandoning the other, this is not something a mother would do. She has a cold heart and doesn't deserve to be a mother..."

"Luke, go and confirm if there really are any bloodstains on the side of the road!" Lawrence R's eyes were furious.

Luke quickly led his subordinates to check and when he returned, his tone was unnatural. "Mr. Rodriguez, there are indeed long drag marks of blood, and there are women's footprints, very messy ones."

In reality, those were footprints left behind by Winnie when she escaped here before. Darcy glared fiercely towards the cliff. Winnie jumped down with the child—chances of survival were slim.

There was no evidence of anything; it all depended on how she could fabricate it! She wouldn't let Mr. L know that Winnie was dead. She wanted to deceive him and make him hate her.

An evil smile formed in her heart. She had arranged everything perfectly. Darcy sobbed while saying, "Mr. L, she abandoned you and escaped. Don't be angry, it's just that this child is truly pitiful, being heartlessly thrown down by their mother right after birth."

"It's impossible. My child isn't dead," Lawrence R murmured.

The man's tall legs gave way, and he knelt weakly at the edge of the cliff. His prideful back was filled with hatred, and the sharp angles of his eyes resembled a blade, showing extreme vulnerability at this moment. He gazed at the sea, with hatred piercing through.

Holding tightly onto the child in his arms, he roared, "Winnie, hand over the other child!"
"I'm asking you, where is the other child?"

"Venomous serpent, your heart is colder than anyone's. You killed one of my children. No matter where you run to, even at the ends of the earth, I won't let you go!"

His icy roar tore through the silence of the night, revealing the profound emptiness in his eyes.

It was easy to understand. This despicable woman thought she was carrying only one child; he never revealed the truth, and every hospital examination was masked. Darcy summed it up in her head as well.

So, when she prematurely gave birth, this child in his arms didn't cry, and she didn't notice. Winnie thought she only had one child. In order to save Rock, to seek revenge for being kept in the sanatorium, and to get rid of the troublesome premature baby, she heartlessly threw the child down the mountain, into the sea.

She...

Mother is the culprit, she had an affair, and no matter how much she hurt him before, this time was unforgettable for him. He hated her so much that he wished he could tear her into pieces.

Is this woman still human when she doesn't even want the children? He wanted to spend his whole life entangled with her, even if it meant hating each other.

But she couldn't wait to abandon him, completely abandoning him and the child from her heart!

Lawrence R's eyes flashed with panic and a surge of hatred, making him feel helpless and fragile like a child. Unforgivable, can't forgive! He coughed up blood suddenly.

"Mr. L!" Darcy ran over with concern.

Luke helped the stunned man up. His handsome face was too pale, frozen like a wooden statue. Luke felt distressed.

"Mr. Rodriguez, don't let anger cloud your judgment. I still believe Miss Anderson wouldn't abandon her child and run away. She just had a premature birth. Is it possible that she and the child accidentally fell into the sea? I will quickly seal off the scene and call the police to search for Olivia and find out the truth..."

"We mustn't go near my son!" Lawrence R protectively held the tiny thing in his arms. It was heartlessly abandoned by its mother. If he had arrived a few minutes later, it would surely have perished.

He tenderly and reluctantly lowered his head, gently stroking his suit, not daring to touch his son. He no longer cared about anything else here, striding vigorously onto the plane.

Before leaving, he scanned the sea surface coldly, "Search and rescue teams, should search relentlessly. If she's really dead, I want to see her body, to grab her by the neck and ask why she was so heartless."

Luke sighed, "I've just contacted the naval search and rescue team!"

Darcy clenched her fists and pondered again. The cliff was so high, Winnie and the premature baby couldn't have survived. She got on the plane with peace of mind...
