Chapter 253 Oscar's Secret Return.
"Nothing... just thinking about some work troubles." He hastily covered up.
Darcy looked at him suspiciously, but she had no doubt that he could go for three years without fooling around outside.
There couldn't be another woman distracting him!
She smiled casually, "Come, try the steak I fried, and this bottle of Chateau Lafite. I had it air-shipped early this morning, Mr. L, Give it a taste."
She sat delicately at the dining table, her legs lightly wrapped around his, subtly caressing them.
Lawrence R felt uncomfortable, frowning as he swallowed the steak that tasted like wax.
The man glanced at the red wine, the woman's clear intentions reflected in her eyes, and he declined, "I still have work later, so I won't drink."
Darcy secretly bit her lip, ecstatic to know that he was responding normally.
Tonight, she wanted to have him!
She took a sip herself, stood up seductively, and sensually embraced his neck, whispering softly, "Then, I'll have to feed you...."
Just as her red lips approached his, Lawrence R forcefully grasped her chin, his gaze slightly cold.
"Mmm..." Darcy opened her eyes and trembled at the coldness in his eyes. Then, in a sorrowful tone, she said,
"Mr. L, with our current situation, how can we get married and have children? Everyone in Lymington knows we're getting married in a month, and my parents will be urging for grandchildren. I hope I can be a happy bride."
He didn't respond to her whimpering but instead asked, "Why was my medical record sent to you in real-time?"
Darcy paused, having forgotten that Mr. L was cold and aloof, detesting others controlling him.
Having violated his taboo, she pleaded with a tone of being wronged, "I just care about you too much, Mr. L."
"I think you're just too eager to have a child," Lawrence R said indifferently.
Her eyes turned red, and tears welled up. "Mr. L, are you blaming me? I'm just afraid of becoming an older mother. I truly want to establish a closer relationship with you and make our love more stable."
This woman had sacrificed so much for him. Lawrence R softened his gaze, cradling her face helplessly. "Why are you crying more and more? I will get better, give me some time. If you're in a hurry..."
He furrowed his brows and lowered his voice, "You can buy what you need..."
Darcy's face sank, feeling guilty and embarrassed. She had bought them a long time ago, but that was only a temporary solution! He was a living person who was right in front of her.
She was going insane, but she couldn't let him think she was an immodest woman!
She pretended to shyly cuddle into his embrace and said, "What are you saying? What kind of person do you take me for? I only love Mr. L and I'm willing to wait for your recovery."
"Since that's the case, I'm not in the mood tonight. Will you wait a little longer, hmm?"
Lawrence R was caught off guard.
He was becoming more and more resistant to this matter and now it seemed that tonight was another failed attempt. He wasn't sure if he had lost interest in women or if there was something wrong with his body.
Unable to accept this defeat, she could only find some benefits for herself. With a change of heart, she hugged him and said, "Then you'll have to compensate me, Mr. L."
"What do you want?" Lawrence R thought that as long as it didn't involve that matter, he didn't really care what she wanted.
In the past three years, he had been generous in satisfying Darcy's material desires. She understood that this was his way of compensating her.
She gladly accepted and sometimes even took the initiative because she knew that the excessive indulgence from Mr. L served as proof of his love for her.
This time, however, Darcy smirked as she made her request, "I heard that the assets of Eternity Jewelry Co. Ltd are going to be auctioned off."
Lawrence R paused, not paying much attention. "Hmm."
Three years ago, that woman had escaped and they had no idea whether she was alive or dead. At that time, they didn't have divorce papers, so legally Triton belonged to Lawrence R.
However, he couldn't be bothered and left Triton to be arbitrated by the court.
When Rock was released and wanted to intervene, Lawrence R cut off the funding. Triton had been frozen by the court for three years and now its assets were being liquidated through an auction.
Lawrence R didn't bring it up, as he had long forgotten about it. He raised his gaze, his eyes half deep.
Stating it as a matter of business, Darcy said, "I want you to buy it and give it to me, not for any other reason, but because I have high regard for Triton's long-established brand. Mr. L, I'm a talented designer, and as you know, I have the ability to run a company. I want to add something to your portfolio."
"I don't need you to add anything to my portfolio. My money is more than enough for you to spend in five lifetimes." Lawrence said proudly.
Darcy happily threw herself into his arms and understood him well. "After all, it is Sidney's birth mother's company. Even though you hate Winnie, I also want to do something for Sidney."
"You are too kind," Lawrence R softened his gaze. "I will make sure Sidney gets along well with you."
Darcy smirked invisibly. She was not doing this for that little bastard; she wanted the whole of Lymington to see just how much Mr. L doted on her. With just a word from her, she could acquire his ex-wife's company through the auction.
So what if Winnie was dead? Darcy would still trample on her grave. Running her own company was her way of achieving victory!
And now, she had managed to gain some favor in Mr. L's eyes. Just like that, he would treat her with great respect, just as he did to that little bastard.
Hmph.
Wearing a gentle expression, Darcy said, "I want to bring Sidney to the auction tomorrow night. He has a connection with Triton. Plus, Mr. L, Sidney is almost four years old now. It's time for him to experience the outside world; otherwise, he will become even more lonely and withdrawn."
Lawrence R furrowed his brows. "Sidney has never appeared in public, and besides, he is physically fragile!"
Darcy could only continue to persuade, "We're getting married soon, Sidney can't hide forever. We can travel in secret, and I promise to take care of the little one. You can't keep him locked away in an ivory tower forever, can you?"
Lawrence R also questioned if they had protected Sidney too well, causing him to become lonely and withdrawn. He pondered for a moment and said, "Do as you say then!"
Darcy smirked, realizing that this was her mother's plan. With Sidney's first public appearance and Lawrence R buying Triton for her, it held significant meaning.
In the eyes of the high society, Mrs. Rodriguez's position was now truly secure. Everything was being prepared for their wedding.
The next day, in the evening, the auction of Triton's assets took place at the Lymington Convention Center. As promised, Alan had sent a gown and arranged for a driver.
Winnie thought that since he was on his way, she could apply light makeup and went downstairs to get into the car.
At this moment, a secretive figure with a small suitcase appeared outside the luxurious apartment building.
Oscar took off his sunglasses and peered out, seeing mommy clearly getting into that luxury car! Where was she going? He had finally figured out her location in China with the help of his GPS watch, and she left without saying a word!
Oscar didn't dare to call mommy right away, afraid that she would scold him to death. Instead, he decided to see what she was up to. He pursed his lips and left the suitcase at the lobby before quickly hailing a taxi. He said, "Driver, follow that Lamborghini in front!"
"My goodness, kid, you're only three or four years old, and you know about Lamborghinis? Aren't you too smart to go out alone? Is your mommy not worried?" The driver was shocked and hesitated whether to call the police.
Oscar glanced at him and quickly took out a few bills, saying, "Grandpa, take the money and don't ask too many questions. I'll be very grateful to you."
The driver looked at the angelic smile on the child's face and reluctantly drove the car. Kids these days are becoming more mature and intelligent at such a young age, surpassing the average IQ.
