Chapter 871 Domineering

Winnie stared at Lawrence's deeply chiseled face on the screen, silently taking a deep breath.

She really didn't expect Lawrence to be so ruthless when pushing someone. She felt a bit scared.

The phone rang. It was Lawrence.

Winnie answered with mixed feelings, "Your methods of torturing Rock are a bit harsh."

She sighed to Lawrence.

Lawrence sneered inwardly and thought, 'That's because you don't know how vicious Rock is. He hid our daughter, Winnie.'

He felt heavy-hearted and gave a cold smile, "I can't repay evil with kindness like you! I'm helping you get rid of him, aren't you satisfied?"

Winnie's scalp tingled, her heart turned cold, and then instantly warmed up again. She said softly, "Thank you for helping me get revenge on Rock. He has two lives in his hands, one of Sierra's and one of Olivia's, which I also count as his. For someone like Rock, you can't be soft, nor can you give him any chance to turn things around. You've handled all of this for me."

What she didn't say was: If it weren't for him, she really wouldn't know what to do.

But that didn't stop the deeply thoughtful Lawrence from understanding instantly.

On the other end of the phone, Lawrence's low, deep laughter came through, "Then can I ask you out for dinner, Ms. Anderson?"

Winnie's cheeks heated up for a moment. Maybe it was his magnetic voice; being teased by him felt completely different from being teased by others.

It was as if an electric current flowed into her ears.

She unconsciously shrank her earlobe, bit her lower lip, and glanced at her watch, "I would naturally be willing to thank you with a meal. Seven o'clock, I'll bring the two kids."

This immediately blocked Lawrence's idea of booking a candlelight dinner.

Lawrence raised an eyebrow slightly. Winnie was very smart.

Bringing the two kids, how was that different from yesterday's gathering with the Rodriguez Family?

Lawrence's handsome face darkened slightly. At this moment, he found the two sons a bit of a nuisance.

There was a light knock on the office door, and Bryan came in, looking thoughtfully at Lawrence.

Lawrence waved his hand, frowning slightly, and immediately said to Winnie, "Then I'll book the restaurant and wait for you, darling."

His gentle voice disappeared as he hung up.

He lifted his eyes to look directly at Bryan, full of gloom, "So, Rock hasn't called to beg for mercy?"

Bryan held up the photos sent in real-time by the detective and shook his head, "Since Global Trust Bank imposed economic sanctions on Rock and froze all his company's assets, he hasn't left his villa. Reporters are even speculating whether you've driven him to suicide in his villa!"

"Suicide? Impossible." Lawrence sneered.

He picked up a cigarette from the table but didn't light it. Instead, he squinted his eyes and crushed it until the tobacco was ruthlessly ground to pieces. He withdrew his hand, put his arms in his pockets, and stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking out coldly.

After a moment of thought, his eyes were deep and cold, "Ordinary people would be on their knees begging for mercy if all their assets were frozen and their company was ransacked! Moreover, I didn't take his life; I just want him to reveal Ishara's whereabouts."

"In this situation, the fact that he hasn't said anything is suspicious, Bryan. I suspect Rock is still holding out, possibly with another purpose in mind. This purpose must be related to his urgent need to send Ishara away."

He added, "Rock might be waiting for some opportunity. He doesn't think he's lost yet, so he's holding on tightly. His mind is full of schemes and plots, and he won't let go of any person he can use. Maybe there's something beneficial to him besides the child that Ishara is carrying. He must need Ishara for something."

"Bryan, go find Jeremy immediately and see if he has found out which illegal yacht Ishara took to leave the country last night."

Lawrence's face looked grim.

Bryan could also sense that Rock was now fearless. As long as he wasn't dead, he would hide.

If he didn't say anything, Lawrence would have to spend time finding Ishara's whereabouts!

But the child Ishara was carrying was said to be six months old; they couldn't wait too long.

Bryan also felt anxious. "Mr. Rodriguez, please stay calm. You will definitely protect your and Ms. Anderson's daughter."

Lawrence leaned against the large desk, closing his eyes heavily. After a moment, he opened them, glanced at his watch, composed his facial expression, grabbed his suit jacket, and strode out, "Handle the search for Ishara quietly. Don't let Winnie notice!"

"She's been tormented enough by me this past year. Now I just want her to feel comforted, that there are no more hardships in her life. Otherwise, she will be more resistant and lose confidence in us."

"I understand, Mr. Rodriguez. I'll inform Mr. DeRoss and the kids."

Oscar was naturally sensible, but as for Sidney, he was another story.

Lawrence's thin lips curved slightly as he drove to the dinner location with Winnie. As soon as he walked in, he saw Winnie with a fresh face, long hair, and pink lips, already there with the two sons.

Sidney was clinging to Winnie's leg, begging for ice cream.

The weather was still a bit cold, so Winnie naturally wouldn't allow it.

Lawrence stood at the restaurant's glass door, his chiseled, handsome face deeply shadowed, watching Sidney cling to Winnie's smooth leg.

"Winnie." Lawrence immediately walked over.

Winnie turned around, and before she could see his face clearly, a large men's suit jacket was draped over her.

And Sidney, who was clinging to her leg, was pushed aside by Lawrence.

"Daddy, why did you push me so hard?" Sidney almost lost his balance and fell.

Oscar also looked over in confusion.

Winnie bent down to help Sidney, "Lawrence, what are you doing?"

"Don't move!" Lawrence's large hand protectively held her waist.

He glared at Sidney, sternly warning, "In the future, don't cling to her leg in public. Do you understand the rules? Show some manners!"

Sidney was silent.

What did he do to deserve being scolded?

"Lawrence, what's wrong with you?" Winnie looked at Sidney, whose eyes were red, completely puzzled. If Sidney weren't his child, Winnie would have suspected that Lawrence was about to throw him out.

Lawrence glanced at the silent Oscar, "Take the unruly Sidney to your side."

Oscar looked at Lawrence holding Winnie's waist and seemed to understand a bit.

Lawrence's possessiveness was beyond words.

It wasn't until the two sons reluctantly went to their seats that Lawrence adjusted the suit jacket on Winnie.

His large hand was casual but with great force, wrapping the jacket tightly around her, making it very uncomfortable.

"Take the jacket off. It's hot, and I'm hot too."

"No."

"Why?"

Lawrence glanced at her, full of coldness, and leaned down, lowering his magnetic voice, "Don't you know? Just now, when Sidney was clinging to your leg, your skirt almost got lifted. Why are you wearing a short skirt after work? And don't wear these tight skirts to work either! Are other skirts not for sale?"
