Chapter 756 Rock's Suspicion

Winnie froze, her delicate hand trembling violently as she heard Rock's gentle voice, "It's noon, so I'm inviting Winnie to lunch."

When she was completely flustered and at a loss, Lawrence still hadn't moved. He leaned in close to her and asked ambiguously, "Should I hide now?"

She was extremely angry but also felt that since there was nothing between her and Lawrence, hiding would only make her feel more guilty.

But if he didn't hide, Rock would see him and misunderstand.

While she was thinking chaotically, Lawrence had already quickly opened the door to her lounge and hid inside.

The practiced way he did it almost made Winnie suspect he was a habitual offender.

Before she had time to adjust her darkened face, Rock pushed open the office door and walked in briskly, "Winnie, why didn't you say anything?"

On Winnie's desk, Lawrence's lunchbox was still open, not yet cleaned up.

Fortunately, she had thrown the bouquet of flowers under the desk.

She looked up guiltily, "Oh, I was just..."

Rock quickly noticed the lunchbox. He stiffened, a cold glint flashing in his eyes, "Who brought you this lunch? Could it be Lawrence?"

Winnie was momentarily stumped by the question.

If she answered yes and then explained that she hadn't accepted Lawrence's lunch, would Rock believe her?

In a moment of desperation, she said, "No, Lysander got this lunch for me from the company cafeteria. By the way, Rock, how did you know he came to the Blanchet Group?"

She asked softly, her almond eyes clear.

Rock stiffened slightly, then said, "I heard security downstairs say a strange man had come to the company. I guessed instinctively, and it turned out to be true. So, did he leave?"

"Yes, I didn't let him come up." Winnie didn't dare to look in the direction of the lounge, feeling very guilty.

"Good that he didn't come up." Rock's gentle eyes scanned the office, and he suddenly said, "It smells nice in here. Did you buy fresh flowers?"

"No!" Winnie stood behind the desk, feeling as if the pink roses at her feet were pricking her.

She quickly walked out, "Maybe the cleaning staff sprayed some perfume. Rock, didn't you invite me to lunch? Let's go."

"Alright." Rock stared at her, glanced in the direction of the lounge, and smiled, "Wait a minute, I need to use the restroom."

Winnie was stunned for a moment. Lawrence was hiding in there.

She was almost too scared to move and was about to stop Rock, but he walked too quickly and pushed open the lounge door, stepping inside.

Winnie was exceedingly nervous; she glanced up and saw that the lounge was empty!

Her heart pounded as she stared at the only cabinet in the lounge, guessing that Lawrence had hidden in there.

Sweat broke out on her palms as she watched Rock walk into the restroom.

She didn't know if it was an illusion, but she felt that Rock suspected Lawrence might be in there.

But Rock's face was calm, which didn't quite fit.

Rock came out. He didn't say anything, took her hand, and walked out of the office.

Rock's gentle eyes glanced at the lounge. Right now, he had more important things on his mind.

Rock said, "Winnie, let's take the food to your father's hospital and have lunch with him. I visited him last night and found that his spirits were much better. He can hear and his vision has also improved. He said he wanted to see you."

"Alright, I was very busy yesterday and didn't go to the hospital." A look of joy appeared on Winnie's face.

Carlos was recovering a little every day.

The two of them bought takeout from the company cafeteria and got into the car. Winnie took the opportunity to text Lysander: [Go to my lounge and find Lawrence, get him out of there.]

Lysander's reply came quickly: [Ms. Anderson, I can't get him out. He said he wanted to sleep on your bed for a while and take a shower. He asked if I had a towel.]

Winnie was furious. Just thinking about a man lying on her small bed made her face turn red.

She angrily typed: [Don't give him a towel.]

Lysander: [He used your towel.]

Five minutes later, Winnie's phone beeped with a new message.

She was sitting in Rock's car and accidentally opened it.

The message was a photo: Lawrence, with slightly wet hair, sitting on her bed. His selfie was close-up,  but his delicate features were still visible, with sharp, handsome lines, a chiseled jaw, and brow bones.

Water droplets from Lawrence's shower trickled down his throat, flowing directly to his chest and meandering through his six-pack abs.

Further down was his strong, narrow waist and an unseen area that sparked the imagination.

This casually taken photo was almost like a picture of a handsome man just out of the bath.

Lawrence sent several more texts: [Feeling a bit sleepy, I'll borrow your bed for a nap.]

[Your bed smells nice. I'll wait for you to come back.]

She was so angry and sent: [Get out!]

Rock asked, "Winnie, why are you always on your phone when you're with me?"

Rock's voice came from the driver's seat, his sharp eyes looking over.

Winnie was so scared her face turned pale. She immediately deleted the photo, clutching her phone in shame, "Sorry, Lysander needed something from me just now."

Rock smiled helplessly. "We're on a date. Focus a bit, or I'll think you don't like spending time with me."

Winnie felt even more guilty, clutching her phone, "No, I'll turn it off."

"We're at the hospital." Rock's attitude softened again. He got out of the car to open her door and carry the lunch boxes.

Holding her hand, they walked into Carlos's hospital room together. He smiled, "Dad, Winnie and I are here to have lunch with you!"

Carlos said, "It's rare for both of you to come."

Carlos was in good spirits. Seeing Rock, his eyes seemed to be fixed on him, "Rock, you do think of me."

Rock said, "Dad, don't say that. Your health needs to recover, and Winnie and I should naturally spend more time with you."

Rock, looking considerate, personally opened the lunch boxes and carefully served food and soup to Carlos.

Winnie watched his considerate actions, remembering how he had also taken care of Sidney and Oscar at the Elliott house.

Her heart grew more complicated. Rock was great, but she was still entangled with Lawrence.

Even at last night's banquet, Lawrence had kissed her. After experiencing a life-and-death moment, he had even declared he would win her back.

For a moment, her heart had been stirred by him.

She blinked her eyes in frustration.

Carlos noticed her silence, "Winnie, why are you so quiet after coming here?"
