Chapter 108 So It Was Annie

"I just saw Margaret getting all cozy with some dude. They were heading up to the lounge on the second floor," Lucy said, laying it on thick. "Margaret's something else, huh? Totally ignoring her status. She's out there openly flirting with some guy; it's a total slap in your face."

Before Lucy could finish, William, looking like he could freeze hell over, took off for the second floor.

Up in the lounge, Annie was sprawled on the sofa, tugging at her clothes, feeling like she was on fire. Just then, the door swung open, and in walked a guy with bleached blonde hair. This was the thug Lucy had set up to come in and assault Margaret. According to their plan, by the time they were both all hot and bothered, Lucy would drag William in to catch them red-handed.

The blonde dude walked in and immediately spotted Annie on the sofa.

"Damn, you're gorgeous," he said, all excited. "Tonight, I get to sleep with a hottie and get paid for it. Sweet deal."

"Come here, baby. Let me show you some love," he said impatiently, diving onto the sofa where Annie was.

Drugged up, Annie let out a soft moan and clung to the guy in front of her.

"William, wait up!" Lucy was hot on William's heels, arriving at the lounge door on the second floor. A bunch of reporters had already gathered at the door.

Lucy had Grace send out anonymous tips to the reporters, telling them to come over.

The reporters were buzzing. They got a tip that William's fiancée, Margaret, was in the lounge on the second floor, cheating with some random guy. William's fiancée, who had just danced the opening dance with him, caught cheating within an hour? Scandalous!

The reporters were about to bust in when they saw William coming and went dead quiet.

William's icy vibe made the air feel like it dropped ten degrees. The reporters shivered but didn't want to miss the scoop. They could hear faint sounds of passion from the lounge. They exchanged excited looks, trying not to show it in front of William.

"William, let's go in and see!" Lucy urged, barely able to contain herself. She couldn't wait to see Margaret get busted. That bitch Margaret, she was going down this time!

William stared at the lounge door, stone-faced. Could Margaret really be in there? He couldn't wrap his head around it.

Seeing William ignore her, Lucy turned to the reporters. "What are you all waiting for? Go in!"

But with William there, the reporters didn't dare move. They all wanted to see the drama unfold, but no one had the guts to push the door open.

Just then, a clear female voice cut through the tension. "Why's everyone hanging around here? What's the deal?"

William's heart skipped a beat. He turned to see the familiar figure that had been haunting his dreams. It was Margaret!

So, the chick in the lounge couldn't be Margaret.

A smile crept onto William's face.

Lucy was floored when she saw Margaret. Wasn't Margaret supposed to be in the lounge, getting dirty with that thug? Why was she here?

Lucy gasped, "Margaret, what are you doing here?"

Margaret grinned. "Why wouldn't I be here?"

"Aren't you supposed to be..." Lucy stammered, totally thrown off.

Annie had said everything was going smoothly, so why was Margaret standing here all fine and dandy? If Margaret wasn't in the lounge, then who was?

Margaret said calmly, "Supposed to be what? In the lounge?"

Lucy bit her lip, her face darkening. William shot a sideways glance at Lucy. "Didn't you say you saw Margaret with a guy in the lounge?"

"Maybe I was mistaken," Lucy said, wiping the cold sweat from her forehead and gritting her teeth.

"Is that so?" William said coldly. "Apologize to Margaret."

Lucy clenched her fists, glaring at Margaret with pure rage. Why should she apologize to Margaret?

Sensing Lucy's hostility, Margaret smiled. "William, since Lucy said she was mistaken, maybe she really was. Why don't we go in and see who looks so much like me that she mistook her for me."

"Alright," William said indifferently.

The reporters, who had been chomping at the bit, immediately kicked open the lounge door with William's nod.

The door swung open to reveal a scandalous scene. Annie and the blonde guy were all over each other, going at it.

"Annie, it's Annie!" a reporter recognized her and shouted excitedly.

Flashlights started popping off like crazy.

How could the reporters miss such a juicy scoop? Even though the woman in the lounge wasn't Margaret, Annie was still a actress with some fame, and there were rumors she was Bruce's ex.

Annie, hearing the commotion, snapped out of it a bit. She came to and saw herself stark naked, surrounded by excited reporters snapping pics. Quickly grabbing her clothes to cover up, Annie screamed, "Stop taking pictures! Stop it!"

The reporters shoved their mics in her face, bombarding her with questions.

"Annie, who is this guy? Is he your new boyfriend?"

"We heard you broke up with Bruce. Is that true?"

"Annie, why did you and Bruce split? Was it because of him?"

Annie's face went pale, holding her head and trembling. She didn't even know this guy!

This was all Margaret's fault!

With a face twisted in anger and hatred, Annie pointed at Margaret and screamed, "Margaret! Margaret set me up!"
