Chapter 251 In This Life, He Only Loved Margaret

With their lips locked, William held his breath, heart pounding. Her lips were just as soft and sweet as he remembered, still burning hot.

That familiar, amazing feeling made William's heart race. He wanted to kiss her like this forever. But first things first, he had to get this medicine into her to help with her allergy and fever.

Pushing down the flutter in his chest, William took a deep breath, pried open Margaret's mouth with his tongue, and fed her the medicine, sealing her lips with his to keep her from spitting it out.

Margaret felt uncomfortable but couldn't break free, instinctively swallowing the medicine.

Seeing her swallow, William felt a wave of relief.

He repeated the process, his eyes soft with a touch of indulgence, feeding her mouthful by mouthful until the cup was empty.

"So bitter," Margaret muttered, passively drinking the whole cup, instinctively licking her lips.

That simple action was incredibly tempting to William. His gaze became intense.

Staring at her, William's mind replayed the scene of him feeding her the medicine. Her lips were so enticing, leaving him wanting more.

Even though her allergy had made her look a bit off, she still had an irresistible allure to him because he loved her.

He loved her not just for her beauty, but for her irresistible charm. Her smarts, confidence, and calmness made William's heart flutter. This feeling was something he had never felt before.

In this life, he was sure she was the one. He'd do whatever it took to make Margaret fall for him again and accept his proposal. He'd love and care for her forever.

William took Margaret's hand, placed it on his lips, and gently caressed it, his eyes showing a tenderness he'd never shown anyone else.

"Margaret, you'll be okay," William said in a low, deep voice.

Margaret leaned against William's chest, letting out a soft moan.

Instinctively, she found William's lips cool and comforting, rubbing her cheek against them. That cool sensation made her want to get closer.

Margaret's action made William lose control. He cupped her cheeks with both hands and kissed her enticing red lips.

The next day, the sky was clear.

Sunlight streamed through the window, dazzling Margaret. She rubbed her eyes and slowly opened them. The first thing she saw was William's handsome face.

"Margaret, you're awake?" William sat by the bed, having stayed up all night, worried about her. Seeing her finally awake, his tone carried a hint of joy.

"William? Why are you in my room?" Margaret instinctively asked.

William looked at her and said in a low, deep voice, "You had an allergic reaction and a fever yesterday. I was worried, so I stayed here with you."

Margaret rubbed her temples as yesterday's memories slowly came back.

She remembered the opening ceremony of "Imperial Secrets: Palace of Roses." While she and Lyle were answering reporters' questions on stage, she suddenly had an allergic reaction.

She felt awful and was swarmed by reporters. William had swooped in, shooed them away, and carried her to the car.

Margaret couldn't quite remember what happened after that.

"How do you feel?" William asked, noticing her face looked much better. Harlan's medicine seemed to be working.

With William's question, Margaret realized she still felt a bit itchy. She glanced down at her shoulder and chest, which were no longer as red and swollen as yesterday, and the rash had subsided a lot.

"I'm much better." Margaret smiled. "Thanks to you yesterday."

"No need to thank me," William said in his deep voice, "As long as you're okay, I'm relieved."

Meeting William's deep gaze and hearing his concerned words, Margaret felt moved.

William's handsome face showed signs of fatigue, and he looked a bit tired.

"Did you stay here all night without sleeping?" Margaret asked.

"Yeah." William nodded lightly.

He suddenly remembered something, picked up a bottle of pills from the table, and handed one to Margaret. "This is the medicine Harlan prescribed for you. It's pretty effective. You took it last night, and you're already much better today."

"Did you feed me the medicine last night?" Margaret took the pill and instinctively asked.

William raised an eyebrow, looking at her deeply, saying slightly, "Who else?"

Margaret looked down at the pill in her hand, thinking, 'I was so feverish and out of it yesterday. How did he manage to get me to swallow such a big pill?'

Hazy images flashed in her mind. Last night, she vaguely felt like someone was holding her and kissing her, making her feel like she couldn't breathe.

The fragments of William feeding her the medicine now floated in and out of Margaret's mind, making her blush.

"Margaret, why's your face red?" William squinted his eyes slightly, asking with a half-smile.

Margaret felt embarrassed. "Maybe the fever hasn't completely gone down."

"Really?" William smiled.

Early this morning, before Margaret woke up, William had taken her temperature. Her fever was gone.

Seeing William's mischievous smile, Margaret glared at him, got out of bed, and went to her suitcase to get her homemade ointment.

Although Harlan's medicine was effective, it hadn't completely cured her. Using her ointment in combination would make her recover faster.

As soon as Margaret got out of bed, William pushed her back down.

"What are you doing?" Margaret frowned.

William leaned over, his hands on either side of Margaret's shoulders, looking down at her. "I should be asking you. What are you doing? You're still sick, and you want to run around? Harlan said you need to rest. Stay in bed and rest."

Looking at William's handsome face, Margaret's face started to heat up again. She took a deep breath. "Move, you're crushing me."
