Chapter 471 Their Family's Treasure
Dione walked over to Juniper and Samuel, placing her freshly made soup on the table.
Juniper smiled and nodded as she took a sip of the soup. Just then, the doorbell rang. The housekeeper went to answer it, and in walked Margaret, carrying a bunch of supplements. She smiled at Juniper and said, "Hey! How are you feeling these days?"
Seeing Margaret, Samuel quickly went over to greet her with a smile, taking the supplements from her and finding a suitable place to put them. Margaret sat down next to Juniper, looking at her rounded belly, and gently touched it. "You must be about four or five months along now, right? Did the doctor say if it's a boy or a girl?"
Juniper gave Margaret a playful look, seeing all the supplements she brought. "Why did you bring so much stuff? I'm not a national treasure, and I'm fine now."
"Oh, come on. You're carrying a baby, which makes you their treasure. And remember, you promised I'd be the godmother when the baby is born."
Margaret laughed heartily. Seeing Juniper being accepted by the Hall family made her feel at ease, and she joked around comfortably.
Juniper smiled shyly. Ever since she was saved in the hospital, Samuel and Dione had been treating her like a precious gem, not letting her do anything risky. She had gained a bit of weight and looked much healthier.
"Of course, you will be the godmother. But when are you and Mr. Fisher going to have a baby? We can go shopping for baby clothes together."
Margaret was momentarily taken aback. She looked at Juniper's smiling face and felt a bit embarrassed. To be honest, she and William hadn't thought that far ahead yet.
But if she brought it up to William, he would probably start planning right away.
"We're not in a rush. But what about you and Samuel? When are you planning the wedding? You can't just skip it now that you have a baby on the way."
Juniper sighed. "I'm over five months along now, and I wouldn't look good in a wedding dress. Plus, the doctor said both the baby and I were lucky to make it through. I need to rest and can't exert myself. So, Samuel and I decided to have the wedding after the baby is born and I'm healthy again."
"Exactly," Samuel said, bringing over a plate of grapes and placing it in front of Margaret and Juniper. "Juniper has been through a lot, and her health is our priority. Both our parents agree with this plan."
"You two are doing great," Margaret said, nodding with satisfaction as she looked at Juniper and Samuel. It was like watching her daughter get married.
At this moment, she wouldn't mention Alden. What could be more important than seeing Juniper happy?
"Your main focus now should be taking care of yourself and the baby. Don't let anything go wrong. You have no idea how scared I was when I heard you were in surgery."
Margaret's words were filled with concern as she held Juniper's wrist.
Juniper nodded. "I know, I know. How are the preparations for your and Mr. Fisher's engagement party next month?"
"Almost done. He said there are just a few details left to sort out. Grandpa has already made the guest list. You and Samuel must come."
"Absolutely!" Samuel responded with a big smile. "Juniper and I will be there. I need to learn from your experience."
"Stop it," Juniper said with a playful smile, and Margaret joined in the laughter. The three of them chatted happily and harmoniously.
Margaret stayed at the Hall Villa until noon. Dione wanted to invite her to stay for lunch, but Margaret politely declined. "Mrs. Hall, thank you, but I need to get back to the office. You all enjoy your meal. I'll come by for lunch another time."
As she left the Hall Villa and walked to the gate, she noticed a white Porsche parked outside. It was Michael's car, and he was waiting by the bushes.
Margaret frowned when she saw the car and glanced around as she walked out. Michael heard the sound and turned to approach her. "Ms. Scott, what a coincidence."
"Not really," Margaret replied, giving a polite smile. "You've probably been waiting here for a while. I'm straightforward, Mr. Fisher. If you have something to say, just say it."
Michael smiled, not feeling awkward at all. "Alright, I have been waiting. I wanted to ask if you've thought about our collaboration."
"And since it's lunchtime, I was wondering if you'd like to discuss it over a meal?"
"Thank you, Mr. Fisher, but I don't think that's necessary." Margaret felt uncomfortable. She wasn't very familiar with Michael, and his recent attentiveness was puzzling.
Michael, however, was persistent. "Ms. Scott, don't be so quick to refuse. I just want to have lunch and discuss business. Consider it a friendly gesture."
Margaret looked at him, thought for a moment, and then nodded. "Alright, let's talk over lunch."
Michael smiled and opened the car door for her. Twenty minutes later, they arrived at a well-known private dining restaurant in Ravenford.
Following Michael inside, the waiter nodded at him and led them to a quiet, window-side table. Michael gestured for the waiter to hand the menu to Margaret.
"Ms. Scott, please order whatever you like."
Margaret took the menu and casually remarked, "Mr. Fisher, it seems you planned this well. You even reserved a table."
Michael smiled, unfazed. Though he felt out of his element, he was willing to try anything for Lucy.
"Business requires sincerity. And since you agreed to lunch, I wanted to be prepared. Are there any issues with my proposal?"
Michael's straightforwardness surprised Margaret. His offer was indeed generous, but she couldn't shake the feeling that there might be a catch.
