Chapter 175 Cohabitation

"What's up?" Margaret asked, looking confused.

"Check this out, they're trashing you online again. Now they're saying you're hooked up with Lyle." Juniper shoved her phone at Margaret, her voice dripping with anger. "These gossip writers are the worst; they'll make up anything."

Margaret glanced at the screen. First thing she saw was a pic of Lyle carrying her suitcase in one hand and helping her out of the car with the other. It was snapped the day Lyle brought her over. From the angle, it looked like they were super close.

[Lyle's new girlfriend revealed: the former fiancée of the Fisher Group's president, Margaret. The two spent the night together, suspected of cohabitation.]

These gossip writers had wild imaginations. They would write anything for clicks.

"Margaret, should I get someone to take down these fake stories? This is just too much!" Juniper suggested.

Margaret, though, was laser-focused on getting to Glacial Crest ASAP. She replied coolly, "Don't sweat it for now. Let's get moving. Let Lyle deal with this mess."

Juniper nodded and they headed to the airport.

At the entrance of the Fisher Group building.

Watching Margaret's somewhat cold and distant figure disappear, William's eyes narrowed, and his lips pressed into a tight line.

"William, didn't you say you were taking me to the hospital?" Angel's words snapped William back to reality. He turned to look at Angel. "Yeah, let's go."

Then he started walking towards the parking lot. Angel hobbled behind him, calling out sweetly, "William, don't walk so fast. Wait up."

William paused, seeing Angel's pained expression, and reached out to support her. "You okay?"

"I'm fine, just my knee hurts a lot." Angel leaned against him. She licked her lips, her soft breast brushing against his strong arm, her movements full of allure.

William, though, didn't react.

Angel felt a bit let down, biting her lip, and said pitifully, "William, does Ms. Scott really hate me? I begged for her forgiveness, but she not only refused, she even pushed me hard."

At the mention of Margaret, a flicker of something complicated flashed in William's eyes. He impatiently loosened his tie and glanced at Angel. "Marjorie, get in the car."

Angel got in but noticed William wasn't joining her.

"William, aren't you coming?" Angel asked, puzzled.

William smiled and explained, "I'm having the driver take you. I got an important meeting at the company I can't miss."

After saying that, he pulled out his phone and called for the driver.

Hearing this, Angel clenched her fingers but forced a sweet smile. "Alright, William, you go ahead and handle your work."

"Okay," William responded indifferently and turned to leave.

Watching his tall, somewhat indifferent figure, Angel bit her lip tightly, her eyes dimming a bit. She thought, 'Why is William so cold to me?'

Just now, when she stormed into the president's office, she caught that intense look in William's eyes when he looked at Margaret!

'Margaret! She's just a self-indulgent vamp!' No way was she letting Margaret get another shot at seducing William!

Angel hit up the hospital for a quick bandage and then had the driver take her back to the Fisher Group. The employees at the Fisher Group knew Angel as William's first love, who'd been all over the internet lately, so she waltzed right in.

In the president's office, William sat upright in his chair, leaning back a bit, his cold eyes glued to his phone screen, his handsome face tense.

On the screen was a pic of Margaret and Lyle together. Their cozy pose was super provocative.

Below were all kinds of comments:

[Didn't expect Lyle's partner to be William's recently dumped fiancée, Margaret. Lyle has no taste, does he like used goods?]

[Who knows, maybe Margaret and Lyle have been having an affair for a long time.]

[That actually makes sense. Margaret is just a promiscuous woman. I can't believe I used to be infatuated with her, ugh!]

[I feel bad for William, being played by a woman!]

William's large, defined hand gripped the water cup on the table, his eyes darting back to the glaring photo, and he threw the cup down hard. The cup hit the ground, shattering into pieces.

When Angel pushed the door open, this was the scene she walked into. The loud crash scared Angel, her face turning pale, almost getting hit by the cup.

A few seconds later, Angel pulled herself together and quickly walked to William's side. "William, what's wrong?"

Realizing he'd lost his cool, William glanced at Angel indifferently. "Marjorie, why are you here? Didn't I have someone take you to the hospital?"

"Oh, I already went. The doc said my knee was just scraped, nothing serious." Angel put on a charming smile. "I was worried you might be concerned, so I came to let you know."

William responded absentmindedly, "It's good that you're okay."

"By the way, William, why were you so mad just now? Did something happen?" Angel asked curiously.

"Nothing." William put away his phone and slipped it into his suit pocket. But Angel still caught a glimpse.

"William, are you mad because of Margaret?" Angel's feelings were all over the place.

She was happy there was so much dirt on Margaret online, especially the stuff about her and Lyle. Any normal guy would be upset, let alone someone as high and mighty as William.

But she was also worried that William's anger over Margaret meant he still cared about her.

Thinking of this, a barely noticeable flash of jealousy crossed Angel's eyes. She cautiously glanced at William and said, "Margaret is so outrageous. She just broke up with you a few days ago and is already openly living with Lyle."

William's face darkened immediately.

Angel continued, "I saw online that Margaret has been involved with Lyle for a while and has been with several other men at the same time. William, if these rumors are true, I really feel bad for you."
