Chapter 465 Design Competition (1)

Camille moved with an almost hypnotic and almost hypnotic gracea grace, and Mia couldn't help but watch her every move.

Mia furrowed her brow and asked, "What's up with all this?"

After locking the cabinet, Camille gave it a firm tug to make sure it was secure, then let out a sigh of relief. She looked up at Mia with an apologetic smile.

"Sorry about this, but Leo handed this to me yesterday. It's her design for the competition, and it can't be leaked before the contest starts. I really need you to keep this under wraps. If word gets out, I'll be in serious trouble, maybe even lose my job."

Camille's eyes were pleading, her expression almost pitiful, and she clasped her hands together in a gesture of supplication.

Mia had her own agenda, but faced with Camille's earnest request, she nodded firmly. "Don't worry, I won't say a word. Once I leave this room, I'll forget all about it!"

"Thank you so much!" Camille's worried face broke into a smile, her mood visibly lifted. A moment later, her phone rang. "Okay, I'll be right down."

"I need to go downstairs to pick up a package. Want to come with me?" Camille asked politely as she stood up.

Mia snapped out of her thoughts and shook her head. "Nah, you go ahead. I need to hit the restroom."

After Camille left, Mia glanced around the room and noticed the key to the drawer was left on the mouse pad. Seeing that no one was around, she quietly picked up the key, carefully inserted it into the lock, and opened the drawer. She took out the design and slipped it into her handbag.

After completing this task, she slowly locked the drawer again, returned the key to its original place, and tidied her hair before confidently leaving the design room.

Five minutes after Mia left, Camille returned. Seeing the empty chair next to her workstation, she smiled slightly. The first thing she did was open the drawer.

Noticing the design was gone, she smiled knowingly and happily resumed her work.

Mission accomplished!

Leaving Leo's studio, Mia walked down the street, a smug smile spreading across her face as she thought about what had just happened.

Mia thought, 'Margaret, no matter what, you're still going to lose to me.'

Arriving at Susan's studio, Mia saw Susan in her office and immediately took the design out of her bag, placing it on Susan's desk. "I got the design. It's the dress Camille mentioned before. You can make your changes."

Susan's eyes widened in surprise as she looked at the design, then at Mia. She hadn't expected Mia to manage to get Leo's competition piece.

But her surprise quickly turned into intense joy. She eagerly took the design and placed it in her drawer.

Mia watched Susan's actions with a knowing smile. "Alright, I got you what you wanted. Now it's your turn to keep your promise."

Susan nodded, her confidence bolstered by having Leo's design in hand. "Ms. Davis, you can count on it."

After Mia left, Susan took out the design and carefully studied Margaret's style. She had to admit, Leo's design was clever, always finding unique details. But so what?

After a day of work, Susan finally finished modifying the design, adding her touches to Margaret's original concept. Now she just had to wait for the competition to start.

On the day of the design competition...

After two rounds of model presentations and design evaluations, it was no surprise when the head judge stood up to announce, "The winner of this design competition is Leo, the lead designer of Leo's studio!"

"Wait!" Susan, who had been standing in the crowd, finally spoke up after the announcement. She confidently stepped forward and said, "I accuse Leo of submitting a design that plagiarizes my work!"

The audience was shocked, murmurs spreading through the crowd. The judges exchanged glances and began examining the designs on the table.

The head judge's hand paused, his expression becoming complex. Susan watched his reaction closely, thinking she had succeeded, her smile unwavering.

She couldn't believe Leo would escape this time!

"Ms. Lewis, please return to your place," the head judge finally said. Susan didn't sense anything amiss and returned to the lineup, giving Margaret a meaningful look.

Strangely, there was no further reaction from the judges. Susan waited but heard nothing, growing increasingly puzzled.

During the exhibition, Susan's expression changed.

All the entries were displayed anonymously, first shown by models and then hung on racks. But when the attendants brought out the racks, Susan didn't see the red dress she expected.

What was going on?

She frowned, her hands clenching as she glanced at Margaret, who didn't even look her way.

Susan looked at the nameplates on the display cases. When she saw "Leo's studio," she found a sky-blue mermaid dress with a gradient skirt adorned with sequins. Susan froze.

She remembered clearly how the dress had dazzled everyone during the model presentation, its three-foot-long skirt shimmering like a starry sky. Even she had been genuinely impressed.

How could this be?

Susan felt uneasy. She realized things weren't as simple as they seemed, and everything that had happened started to connect in her mind, revealing inconsistencies.
