Chapter 390 Blocking the Gun

After leaving the house, Grace's smile disappeared in an instant. She pulled out her phone and found the news article she had bookmarked. Margaret had been supervising on set recently, right?

Well, she was about to show Margaret what lifelong regret really felt like!

"Take me to this address. I have a friend filming there, and I'm visiting the set."

Grace handed the address of the film crew's location to the taxi driver. Half an hour later, she arrived at the set.

"Cut! Lyle, that was fantastic. You really nailed the male lead's inner turmoil and sadness. Your eye acting was spot on. No wonder you've won Best Actor!"

The director glanced at the footage on the monitor, nodding in satisfaction and praising Lyle.

Lyle smiled, "That's thanks to your great direction. Actors and directors always complement each other."

"Don't be so modest. I just watched with the director, and you really nailed that scene. But the next one, where the male lead is taken away by the army, is crucial. There are a few details to pay attention to..."

Margaret said with a smile. Lyle, always serious about his craft, immediately focused on her words, and the two moved aside to discuss the plot.

The set was bustling with people coming and going, so the staff didn't notice Grace's arrival.

Grace walked forward, quickly spotting Margaret and Lyle in a corner. She couldn't hear what they were saying, but seeing them laughing happily made her furious.

Grace strode over, glaring at Margaret. "Margaret!"

Margaret turned at the sound, momentarily stunned to see Grace's face.

Lyle was equally surprised and asked, "Grace? What are you doing here?"

"Margaret, you bitch!"

Grace's eyes were red with anger as she spat out the words, her voice filled with hatred.

She wanted nothing more than to kill Margaret.

"What are you talking about?" Lyle reprimanded Grace before Margaret could respond, frowning at her with confusion and anger.

Grace looked at Lyle with a mix of love and sadness. She could see how much Lyle liked Margaret from his expression while talking to her.

Because Lyle liked her, Grace wanted to destroy her!

Lyle glared at Grace, unceremoniously ordering her to leave. "This is a film set. Please leave immediately!"

Tears glistened in Grace's eyes as she gave Lyle one last look before turning back to Margaret.

"Feeling proud, aren't you? First, you hooked up with William, got dumped, and now you're seducing Lyle, making him willingly be your lover, right?"

"Margaret, you look so gentle and sweet, but who knew you were such a promiscuous woman? I regret not tearing off your fake mask in front of all those reporters, letting them see the real you—the infamous president of Starlight Entertainment, a woman who sleeps around!"

Grace was completely unhinged, her eyes filled with hatred, her words venomous, as if she wanted to devour Margaret.

Lyle was furious too, his fists clenched, veins bulging on his forehead as he tried to control his anger for Margaret's sake.

Margaret frowned at Grace. "Grace, have you lost your mind?"

"Yes!" Grace shouted, drawing the attention of many onlookers. Some tried to pull her away, but she broke free.

"I don't get how a woman like you can keep two men wrapped around your finger, making them both devoted to you. Margaret, you're so skilled. I'm crazy, yes, I'm crazy. You framed me, got me arrested, and drove my family to the brink of bankruptcy. It's all your fault! Margaret, how can you still pretend to be gentle and dignified in front of others? How dare you!"

Grace's hair was disheveled, her eyes wide with rage, her voice hoarse and echoing through the set.

Grace was truly unhinged.

Margaret shook her head, feeling pity but not sympathy for Grace.

"Grace, you need to understand something. You were the one who made the first mistake. If you hadn't helped Lucy with all those schemes and hired a hacker to infiltrate our company's network, none of this would have happened."

"As for your family's bankruptcy, you can't blame me. It's your own fault. If your actions hadn't been exposed, you wouldn't have ended up in jail. I was just defending my rights and seeking legal help. Grace, don't you realize your mistakes?"

Margaret's tone was calm, but she knew Grace was too stubborn and radical to change.

Margaret's words only enraged Grace further.

Grace's face turned red with anger, her fists trembling. Suddenly, she pulled a short hunting rifle from her pocket, aimed it at Margaret, and screamed, "Then die!"

Margaret's eyes widened. Grace was truly insane!

"Margaret, watch out!" Lyle reacted instinctively, lunging to shield Margaret.

The surrounding crew panicked, and security rushed over.

A gunshot rang out.

Blood stained Lyle's clothes, a deep red mark spreading across his back.

Margaret was stunned by the sudden turn of events.

Lyle had taken the bullet for her.

Margaret looked at Lyle's pale face with concern.

Blood trickled from his mouth, but he still worried about her. "Margaret, are you okay?"

"I'm fine, I'm fine. Lyle, hang in there. The ambulance is on its way. Someone call an ambulance!"

Margaret's hands trembled slightly. Grace couldn't believe Lyle had taken the bullet for Margaret.

She was completely broken.

Security quickly restrained Grace and dragged her away, while someone called for emergency services.

Fortunately, the set was close to the city. About ten minutes later, someone ran in, shouting, "The ambulance is here, parked at the entrance!"

As soon as the words were spoken, several paramedics rushed in, lifting Lyle onto a stretcher. Margaret, worried, followed them to the hospital.
