Chapter 217 Urgent Task

"Margaret, answer me, you good?" William clutched her tight, his voice all worried and stuff.

He'd tailed Lyle's car all the way to the villa, and after Angel's call, he saw a bunch of folks rush in. Freaking out about Margaret, William bolted outta his car and stormed in. Who would've thought he'd see Margaret taking a dive into the pool the second he walked in?

Even though he knew she could swim, his nerves got the best of him, and he cannonballed right in after her.

"Margaret, hey, you okay?" William's familiar, deep voice hit her ears, making her a bit out of it.

Suddenly, old memories flashed by. That time they crashed into the sea, William held her just like this, keeping her close in the vast ocean. Despite his own injuries, he protected her fiercely, just like now.

"Margaret, you alright?" Seeing her frown and stay quiet, William got even more worried.

"I'm fine." She snapped back. "You know I can swim, right? What's the big deal?"

"As long as you're good," William sighed, relieved, and scooped her out of the pool.

Under everyone's shocked stares, William carried her towards the villa's entrance. His cold, powerful vibe made the crowd part like the Red Sea, even Mia didn't dare let the bodyguards near.

"William, put her down." Lyle stepped up, trying to block him.

"Move!" William's voice was low and commanding.

His presence was so intense that Lyle froze. William sidestepped him, walking out of the villa with steady steps.

Margaret, snug in his arms, felt his warm, broad chest, her face flushing a bit. She decided to play along and pretended to faint.

William gently placed her in the car. Seeing her soaking wet, her white dress clinging to her, he asked, "Margaret, you okay?" He swallowed, took off his jacket, and wrapped it around her.

"I'm fine. What are you doing here?" She asked, lips pursed.

"Just passing by." William's face was cool, his sexy lips curving slightly as he spoke.

Margaret raised an eyebrow, puzzled. 'Why's William here at Lyle's place? Shouldn't he be at the hospital with Bradley?'

She glanced at him but kept quiet. After all the chaos, she felt tired, closed her eyes, and decided to nap.

William started the car, gripping the wheel tight, and drove towards Water Moon Estate. Half an hour later, they arrived. He stopped the car and looked at Margaret beside him.

She was out cold, breathing evenly, her hair still a bit wet, sticking to her forehead. William's heart skipped a beat, and he reached out to brush her hair away.

Margaret woke up, seeing his familiar, handsome face, feeling a bit dazed.

"Margaret, hop out, we're here," William's voice rumbled.

Margaret glanced out the window and realized they were at Water Moon Estate, not East Garden.

"William, take me home," she frowned.

He raised an eyebrow, cool as ever. "There's some urgent stuff for the North Bay project you need to handle."

"What urgent stuff?" she asked, skeptical.

"We'll talk once you're out of the car," he said with a slight smirk.

With him being her boss and all, she couldn't really say no. Margaret followed him into his apartment, everything feeling oddly familiar.

"Mr. Fisher, Ms. Scott," Isolde greeted, clearly surprised to see her. Since Margaret had moved out, William had been a grump, and Isolde had noticed.

William's eyes narrowed. "Isolde, you can leave now."

"Alright, I'll be going then." Isolde smiled at Margaret. "Ms. Scott, it's good to have you back. You don't know how much Mr. Fisher has missed you."

Margaret stayed silent.

Isolde left, and Margaret snapped back. "William, what's the urgent task for the North Bay project?"

William dodged the question. "Go take a shower first, you'll feel better."

She did feel gross from the pool and the cold breeze, but she shook her head. "No need, I didn't bring any clothes."

When she moved out, she took everything with her.

"I got you covered." William smirked and headed upstairs.

Margaret was puzzled. Two minutes later, he came back with a bag of clothes and handed it to her. "Here."

She looked at it, surprised. "What's this?"

"I had someone buy them for you," he said nonchalantly.

Margaret's mind raced. 'When did he buy these? Did he plan for me to come back? Was this all a setup?'

"Hurry up, don't catch a cold," William urged, seeing her hesitate.

Under his intense gaze, she took the bag and headed to the bathroom.

After a hot shower, she felt way better. She picked a red nightgown from the bag and put it on, finding it surprisingly well-fitting.

Thinking that William had bought it for her, her heart felt a bit chaotic. Taking a deep breath to clear her head, she opened the door and walked out.

William was lounging on the couch, flipping through a financial magazine, looking effortlessly elegant. Hearing her, he looked up, and his eyes widened in amazement.

The woman in front of him had just showered, her long hair draped over her shoulders, still wet, and her tanned skin looked smooth. The red nightgown he had chosen perfectly showcased her tall, curvy figure, making her look incredibly sexy and alluring.

William couldn't help but swallow, suddenly standing up, taking a step forward, looking down at her, his voice a bit hoarse. "Margaret."
