Chapter 256 Another Identity Exposed?

Margaret's jaw practically hit the floor when she heard that. She locked eyes with William, who had this sly grin on his face. "How'd you figure it out?"

By asking, she was basically admitting it.

William's eyes got all intense as he stared her down. He nailed it; Margaret was totally Leo.

"Honestly, it wasn't rocket science," William chuckled, his voice low and smooth. "It was kinda obvious."

Back at the Fisher Mansion, Lucy had thrown shade at Margaret for giving Bradley a fake painting, but Margaret clapped back, pointing out that Lucy's so-called Leo Studio dress was a top-notch knockoff.

Margaret even called out the unique mark on Leo Studio's clothes. Then Juniper went and spilled the beans to the media about that mark. If Margaret wasn't Leo, she wouldn't know that stuff.

Later, when Marilyn tried to pin plagiarism on Margaret, Juniper swooped in outta nowhere to clear Margaret's name and expose Marilyn as the real copycat.

Then, Margaret and Juniper teamed up to find Pryce. When Margaret got caught in an avalanche, Juniper was a wreck and did everything to save her.

That kinda devotion screamed that Margaret and Juniper had something special going on. And the only person Juniper would go to bat for like that was Leo. So all signs pointed to Margaret being Leo.

Just now, William had eavesdropped on her phone call with Juniper outside her room, sealing the deal.

"Alright," Margaret blinked her gorgeous eyes, feeling kinda cornered.

Just a few days ago, her gig as the CEO of Starlight Entertainment got outed, and now her secret as Leo was blown in front of William.

"Why'd you keep it from me?" William's gaze was loaded with meaning.

He knew Margaret wasn't just any girl. But he hadn't expected her to be this badass.

Bradley's words echoed in his head. ''Even though I'm old, my mind is sharp. I wouldn't pick the wrong granddaughter-in-law.''

No wonder Bradley was so set on their engagement; Margaret was a total catch. To William, she was the most amazing woman ever. And she was all that.

But thanks to some of his screw-ups, Margaret got the wrong idea and called off the engagement. William was dead set on winning her back.

"There's nothing to say. Besides, I only came 'cause my grandpa asked me to. I bet him I'd leave after three months," Margaret said. She'd always been low-key and didn't want her identity out there.

"Leave?" William suddenly grabbed her shoulder, holding on tight. "No way I'm letting you go."

Margaret stayed quiet. She'd made a bet with Xavier that if she didn't fall for William in three months, she'd leave the Fisher Family, and Xavier couldn't force her to stay engaged.

It looked like she was already head over heels for him. Even though a lot had gone down between them, and she was still salty about his thing with Marjorie, she couldn't deny she was in love with him.

Back when the plane went down and they were staring death in the face, he risked it all to parachute to safety with her, and she was totally moved.

Later, when they ran into a gnarly fish in the middle of the ocean, he saved her, danger be damned. Right then, she fell head over heels for this guy.

She agreed to let him chase her and wanted to be with him. But the deeper she fell, the more scared she got of losing it all.

When Marjorie showed up, it felt like she got yanked from heaven straight to hell.

William ditched her for Marjorie. Even though he explained later, Margaret was still somewhat bothered.

Seeing her stay quiet, William leaned in closer, his voice soft. "Margaret, I know you feel something for me. Why won't you just be with me? Are you testing me?"

His handsome face was getting closer, and Margaret felt a bit dizzy. Right then, she could feel his real feelings for her. But she wasn't sure if he had really moved on from Marjorie.

'William has been colder to Angel lately, but that is probably 'cause Angel has crossed a line, not necessarily 'cause of Marjorie. What if Marjorie came back one day? What would William do then?' Margaret furrowed her brows, feeling a bit annoyed.

Just as she was about to say something, her phone rang.

Margaret snapped out of it and picked up her phone. It was Lyle calling.

Under William's icy stare, Margaret answered. "Lyle, what's up?"

"Margaret, how's your allergy?" Lyle asked, sounding worried.

Margaret smiled. "I'm good now, all better."

"Filming starts tomorrow. When do you think you can shoot your scenes?" Lyle asked, wanting her input.

Since Margaret was the CEO of Starlight Entertainment, her schedule was a big deal. She thought for a sec and said, "Tomorrow works."

William had given her a few days off to chill at home.

It was her first time acting, and it was for her own company. Margaret didn't want any special treatment. She'd show up when it was time to shoot.

"I'll pick you up tomorrow," Lyle said gently.

Lyle was bummed when Margaret moved out of his place and back in with William. But he couldn't control her and just had to watch her go back to William.

Maybe filming would give him more chances to get closer to Margaret. He hoped their relationship could move forward.

"Alright, we'll talk tomorrow." Margaret hung up and looked up to see William's cold face.

"I'm heading to the set tomorrow," Margaret said, feeling like she should let William know.

William's face darkened. "I'll take you."

"No need, Lyle said he'd pick me up," Margaret said, pressing her lips together under his intense gaze.

"I'll take you," William repeated, his face getting even colder.

He could easily guess what Lyle was up to—trying to spend more time with Margaret and win her over. No way was he giving Lyle that chance.
