Chapter 498 Stirring Up Scandal

As Seraphina read the praise online, she felt a bit guilty. She wasn't the one who saved the person; she just did what she could.

She vented a little to Terry about bringing the elderly man today, but his response caught her off guard.

"Don't be so modest. You deserve this."

"Who would've thought Seraphina did something like this?"

Margaret nodded in satisfaction as she looked at the news online. She had just confirmed the truth with Seraphina's agent and had the company's PR team keep the trending topic alive to maintain Seraphina's popularity.

Just then, there was a knock on the office door. Margaret looked up, "Come in."

Lyle appeared, nodding politely at Margaret.

"What's up?" Margaret was a bit surprised to see Lyle.

"The agent said there are a few scripts for me to choose from. He's got a new talent to manage and wanted to get your opinion." Lyle's deep eyes focused on Margaret.

Hearing this, Margaret realized it was time to strike while the iron was hot and get Lyle into a new project.

She started to get up, but then glanced at her computer screen and paused.

"Is there a problem?" Lyle asked, puzzled.

Margaret shook her head, picked up a stack of scripts from the shelf, but didn't hand them to Lyle.

"These won't do."

Margaret quickly scanned the scripts and noticed that the roles were similar to the one Lyle had played last time. While it might be good to build on his current popularity, it would also limit him as an actor.

"Lyle, do you want to play a role similar to your last one?"

Lyle shook his head without hesitation. As a Best Actor, he should challenge himself, not get stuck in one type of role.

"I've decided to tailor a TV series for you," Margaret mused.

"For me?" Lyle was taken aback.

"Half and half." Margaret clapped her hands and showed Lyle the news about Seraphina on her computer.

"You'll be the male lead, and Seraphina will be the female lead."

Although Lyle had seen Seraphina trending today, he hadn't paid much attention to it.

Seeing the media's extensive praise, Lyle had some thoughts.

"A youth idol inspirational drama. With Seraphina's current popularity, it's perfect for this kind of promotion," Margaret planned simply, but then noticed Lyle's hesitant expression.

"Is there a problem?" Margaret asked.

Lyle snapped out of it and asked softly, "Can we get someone else for the male lead? I..."

Last time, Seraphina had suddenly confessed to him, and things had been awkward between them since. Now, having to work on the same show again, Lyle thought it might be best to avoid each other until Seraphina had processed her feelings.

Thinking of Seraphina's hurt but restrained expression that day, Lyle felt a pang of sadness.

"Last time, the rumors about you and Seraphina were so popular. Fans love seeing you two interact again," Margaret said calmly.

Lyle frowned slightly.

"With your and Seraphina's current popularity, stirring up rumors can only be beneficial."

While repetitive roles might bore the audience, the buzz around celebrity pairings wouldn't. In fact, it was a great promotional hook.

Lyle understood this logic, so he had no choice but to agree.

"Great, the script will be ready in a few days," Margaret nodded.

Seeing this, Lyle turned and left the office. He glanced at his social media and saw that Seraphina had posted a wrap-up photo.

"Lyle!"

His agent's voice interrupted his thoughts.

"Which script did you choose?" The agent asked, seeing Lyle empty-handed.

"Margaret said they're tailoring a series," Lyle replied calmly, putting his phone back in his pocket.

"What did you say?"

Seraphina looked at her agent in disbelief, wondering if she had heard wrong.

"What, are you so flattered by the online praise that your ears aren't working?" The agent chuckled. "The company has decided to promote you heavily. With your current popularity, they've lined up several gigs and variety shows for you. You'll be busy for a while."

Seraphina blinked in surprise, feeling overwhelmed by the sudden good news.

She had decent opportunities before, but nothing like this. She knew this was her chance to become a top star.

The agent flipped through the schedule. "The company is also planning a custom TV series for you, with you as the female lead."

"And the male lead? Is it decided?" Seraphina asked curiously.

The agent's next words made Seraphina's smile freeze.

"It's decided. Someone you know—Lyle."

"What?" Seraphina's heart started racing.

"Lyle, you worked with him before," the agent repeated.

Seraphina bit her lip and slowly sat back on the couch.

She thought that after her confession was rejected, they might never cross paths again. But now, they had another chance to work together.

Seraphina looked down, her fingers twisting the hem of her shirt. She couldn't deny she was happy.

She liked Lyle. She often found herself staring at his WhatsApp profile, but she didn't dare contact him, afraid of making things more awkward.

In the same company, they were bound to run into each other.

But now, they had a chance to work together again. Besides being happy, Seraphina felt a bit lost.

"What's wrong? You don't look happy," the agent asked, seeing Seraphina's downcast expression.

"It's not that. I do want to work with him again, but I'm afraid it'll be awkward," Seraphina said softly.

"Awkward? You two have worked together before. It won't be awkward," the agent patted Seraphina's shoulder.

"You don't understand..." Seraphina pouted, turning away with a complex expression.

She had poured her heart out to him, but he only saw her as a friend.

Seraphina suddenly felt that some TV dramas, though seemingly unrealistic, were definitely based on real events.

"Relax. The first time you worked with Lyle, it was fine. Plus, with your combined popularity, the company will definitely capitalize on it," the agent encouraged Seraphina, who had been with her since her debut and knew her well.

"Let's hope so!" Seraphina straightened up, mentally cheering herself on.
