Chapter 402 For You
"Lyle, how are you feeling today?"
Margaret walked into the hospital room and saw Lyle awake, holding a book of essays.
"The doctor says I might need to stay a bit longer for observation, but honestly, I feel like I'm already better."
Seeing Margaret, Lyle instinctively put the book aside and spoke candidly.
He had been lying in bed every day, feeling like a mushroom, unable to go anywhere or move freely, and constantly troubling Margaret to visit him at the hospital.
More importantly, he wanted to get discharged soon so he could finally ask Margaret the question that had been on his mind.
"Margaret, how's the progress on set? I remember I still have several key scenes left to shoot. I'm worried that if this drags on, it will slow down the film's production. Missing the deadline for the film festival would be a disaster."
Thinking about the film shoot, Lyle furrowed his brows and spoke anxiously.
Margaret had already informed the director to shoot all the scenes without the male lead while Lyle was hospitalized. However, even just those scenes would take nearly two weeks to complete.
Right now, the most important thing was Lyle's health.
"I've already taken care of everything on set. You don't need to worry. They'll shoot the scenes without you first, giving you enough time to recover. Besides, most of your scenes when you return are dialogue-heavy, so it's fine."
Margaret spoke softly to comfort him. Just then, a nurse came in to check on Lyle, and Margaret asked a few questions about his condition.
"But I still want to get back to filming," Lyle said honestly. He was an actor with a strong sense of professional responsibility. "This was just an accident. If I keep everyone waiting, it wouldn't be fair."
"It's okay. Everyone knows about your situation. You don't need to worry. Just focus on getting better."
Margaret had been running back and forth between the hospital and the company these past few days. Lyle knew how busy she was. Although he wanted to return to the set, he didn't want to worry her, so he nodded.
Ravenford Airport.
A tall woman with a suitcase walked out of the airport. As she reached the bottom of the stairs, she took a deep breath, removed her sunglasses, and smiled.
Mia, no, she should be called Anna now.
'Margaret, I'm back.'
She knew Lyle was currently in the hospital. On her way back, the taxi radio had been talking about Lyle.
Thinking of Lyle, Anna couldn't help but smile. She arrived at the hospital and asked the nurse at the reception desk which room Lyle was in.
As she approached the room, she noticed the door was slightly open, and she could hear laughter inside.
Peeking in, she saw Margaret sitting by Lyle's bedside, peeling fruit for him. Lyle was smiling at her.
It seemed that even after all this time, Lyle's feelings for Margaret hadn't changed.
The more Anna noticed this, the angrier she became. Her gaze turned cold. When she saw Margaret leaving, she instinctively hid. After Margaret walked away, Anna clenched her fists, watching her retreating figure.
Margaret left the hospital, planning to drive back to the company.
After driving for a few minutes, a slender woman suddenly appeared out of nowhere, holding a phone and looking very anxious. By the time she noticed the car horn, it was too late.
Margaret's eyes widened, and she quickly slammed on the brakes.
Thankfully, she stopped in time.
She watched as the woman was slightly hit. Although she had braked in time, the woman might still have some minor injuries.
Margaret quickly got out of the car and saw the woman sitting on the ground in front of the car, with a scrape on her right knee.
The woman frowned, looking in pain, and instinctively gasped. She tried to touch the wound but froze, unable to move.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to. Here, let me help you up." Margaret apologized repeatedly, carefully helping the woman to her feet.
The woman limped due to her injured leg but smiled, not seeming to mind.
"It's okay. I was on the phone, arguing with someone, and didn't notice the car. It's partly my fault too."
Margaret sighed in relief. The woman spoke gently and didn't seem like someone who would make a fuss.
Still, Margaret felt guilty. "There's a hospital nearby. Let me take you there to get that bandaged. It's the least I can do."
"Thank you," the woman said softly. "But I think it's just a minor injury. A bandage should be enough. Don't worry."
Margaret smiled. For some reason, the woman's eyes seemed familiar, but she couldn't place where she had seen her before.
They quickly arrived at the hospital. Margaret helped the woman the whole way. After the nurse bandaged the woman's leg, they sat on a bench in the hallway.
"Are you feeling any other discomfort? Should we get you checked out?"
"No, that's not necessary." The woman looked at her bandaged leg and shook her head. She smiled at Margaret. "You're very considerate. You're beautiful and kind. You must have many admirers."
Margaret had received many compliments, but hearing it from a stranger she had accidentally hit with her car made her a bit embarrassed.
"We've been talking for a while, but I still don't know your name."
The woman smiled brightly and extended her hand.
"Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Anna."
She looked into Margaret's eyes. "I lived abroad for a while and just returned. I don't have many close friends here. It's nice to meet you."
Anna? A common name.
Margaret briefly thought about the name. Anna continued to smile at her, and Margaret shook her hand politely.
"Hi, I'm Margaret. Nice to meet you."
Anna looked into her eyes, silently adding in her mind, 'Yes, I know you're Margaret.'
It's because of you that I've become who I am today.
