Chapter 295 Mia's Disappearance

"This man is..." Margaret furrowed her brows, a vague suspicion forming in her mind.

Anthony reached out, pointing at the screen, and said calmly, "It's Jack. The background of this photo suggests that it was taken in Aurorania."

"It really is him." Margaret squinted her eyes.

Her previous suspicion was spot on.

In other words, Angel and Jack had known each other for a long time.

It wasn't just when he leaked the bid to BPL to frame her that they met.

"Did you find out what their relationship is?" Margaret pressed.

Anthony shook his head. "Not yet."

Margaret curled her lips. "Keep looking into it for me."

"No problem, Ada!" Anthony agreed immediately.

Suddenly, he remembered something. "By the way, Ada, it was Mia who instructed Leander to hurt you this time."

"I know, William has just told me." Margaret nodded. "I don't expect that woman to hate me so much, wishing I were dead."

If she had known Mia was this crazy, she wouldn't have let Matthew take her away back then.

"It's not Matthew's fault; Mia snuck out of the Davis Family," Anthony seemed to read Margaret's thoughts and explained.

Margaret pursed her lips. "Have you found out where Mia is now?"

Anthony's face turned cold. "I looked into Mia's activities during the two days you were unconscious. But strangely, she disappeared."

Margaret frowned. "Disappeared?"

As soon as she finished speaking, she saw Anthony shrug. "Indeed, I can't find her."

Margaret was silent for three seconds.

She added, "She didn't return to the Davis Family?"

"No." Anthony's face was full of contemplation. "That's why it's strange. The Davis family sent many people to find Mia, Mr. Fisher is looking, and I'm looking, but there are no clues."

"Maybe she's hiding out of guilt." Margaret flipped through the documents and photos in her hand.

She realized that it wasn't just hiding; the entire city, all surveillance footage including blind spots, only captured Mia three days ago.

After Leander's incident, there was no trace of Mia.

"She hasn't left our city; there's no record of her entering or leaving. The last place she appeared was at a nightclub under Leander's name, and it seems she never came out," Anthony told Margaret, "The Davis Family has already checked that nightclub and didn't find Mia."

"Don't worry about her." Margaret knew Mia. Now that she was hiding, not even returning to the Davis Family, she was likely waiting for an opportunity to strike back.

After all, if the Davis Family caught her, they would guard her closely and never let her escape again.

"When she thinks the time is right, she'll show up." Margaret organized the documents and put them aside, then lay down.

Her body hadn't fully recovered, and she was already feeling tired.

"Take good care of yourself; I'll keep investigating," Anthony sighed, stood up to leave, but suddenly turned around, giving her a meaningful look.

Margaret immediately understood what he meant.

He was referring to her and William.

Margaret turned over, pretending not to see.

Then she heard the door open and close, and even with her eyes closed, she felt a large shadow looming over her.

She didn't open her eyes but said calmly, "Leave, I need to rest."

"Are you hungry?" William said slightly, his clear voice tinged with a bit of gentleness, always very pleasant, "Anthony's soup probably wasn't enough, right?"

Margaret wanted to shake her head, but her stomach growled at that moment.

Unable to pretend to sleep any longer, Margaret opened her clear eyes, sat up from the bed, and smiled. "I want a donut."

"I'll go get it for you." William looked down at her, his tone deep.

"Okay." Margaret nodded.

William suddenly leaned down and planted a light kiss on Margaret's forehead. "Wait here obediently, okay?"

Margaret was silent.

"Got it, now go!" Margaret glared at him.

As soon as William left, Margaret let out a long sigh of relief.

She didn't know why, but ever since she woke up, she felt an inexplicable awkwardness facing him.

Maybe it was because that day, William suddenly showed up to save her, and her feelings for him surged like a tide, impossible to suppress.

Margaret didn't want to admit it, but she was becoming more and more dependent on this man.

While Margaret was lost in thought, she didn't notice another person had entered the ward.

Until they stopped in front of her.

"William, you're back so soon?" Margaret was a bit surprised, thinking William had returned, considering he had only been gone for a few minutes.

But when she looked up, she saw Lyle standing in front of her.

Even though Lyle was fully armed with sunglasses and a mask, she recognized him immediately.

"Margaret, are you okay?" Lyle asked with concern.

Margaret smiled. "I'm fine."

"I'm sorry, Margaret, it's all my fault." Lyle's tone was full of guilt.

After all, Mia had become so crazy because of him.

If it weren't for him, Mia wouldn't have tried to harm Margaret so many times.

"This has nothing to do with you. By the way, you should be careful too," Margaret said seriously.

Who knew what crazy things Mia might do? If Mia knew Lyle still cared about her, she might even harm Lyle in her madness, and the consequences would be unimaginable.

Lyle felt a warmth in his heart at her words. "Margaret, thank you for caring about me."

Before Lyle could finish speaking, the door to the ward opened.

William was back.

The moment he saw Lyle, his previously sunny face suddenly darkened.

He had only been gone for ten minutes, and Lyle showed up!

William placed the donut on the small table by Margaret's bed, his brows furrowed, his eyes full of coldness.

"Lyle, I hope you stay away from my fiancée. If it weren't for you, Margaret wouldn't be seriously injured and hospitalized."

Although William had suppressed the incident between Margaret and Leander, preventing it from spreading online, people in their circle knew.

Lyle should be well aware that Margaret's accident was Mia's doing.

Mia was jealous of Margaret because of him and had hurt her multiple times.

Lyle was stunned for a moment, wanting to say something, but Margaret interrupted him, "Lyle, you should go back. Be careful and protect yourself."
