Chapter 324 Margaret, I Miss You
"Speak your mind!" William's voice was cold.
Peter's expression turned serious. "It's just that BPL has been making constant small moves. They suffered a big loss on the North Bay project last time, so they won't let it go easily."
William's eyes narrowed slightly. "I understand."
Jack's targeting of the Fisher Group has been going on for a while now.
It was definitely not just about the North Bay project.
Thinking of the photos Margaret showed him, Angel and Jack had known each other since their time in Aurorania. William's expression grew even colder.
"You can go now. Keep an eye on BPL," William ordered in a deep voice.
"Yes, Mr. Fisher." Peter nodded.
As he turned to leave the CEO's office, he heard William's clear voice from behind. "Did Margaret come to work today?"
Peter paused and quickly turned back. "Ms. Scott is here."
William's handsome face visibly softened, leaving Peter dumbfounded.
Margaret was reviewing the latest designs submitted by the design department for the "Ice and Fire" jewelry and couldn't help but shake her head.
The areas she asked Olivia to improve were completely ignored, resulting in a mess.
It seemed she had to handle it herself.
At that moment, the phone on Margaret's desk rang.
She glanced at it; it was a call from William.
Margaret picked up the phone, and William's extremely magnetic voice came through. "Come to my office."
"Okay." Margaret agreed.
After hanging up, Margaret took the elevator directly to the CEO's office on the eighteenth floor.
She reached out and knocked on the door, but there was no response from inside.
Margaret was puzzled when the door to the CEO's office suddenly opened, and William's tall and slender figure appeared in her sight.
"Come in," William spoke in a low, deep voice, reached out, and pulled Margaret inside.
With a bang, he closed the door and then pressed Margaret against it, his hands on either side of her body, his deep gaze fixed on her face.
"Margaret, I miss you." William's low, deep voice sounded in Margaret's ear.
Facing William's intense gaze, Margaret's heartbeat slowed for a moment.
"It's work hours; it's not appropriate to discuss personal feelings," Margaret cleared her throat and spoke seriously.
William's gaze darkened a bit. "Don't you miss me at all?"
"No..." Before Margaret could finish her sentence, William suddenly leaned in and kissed her, blocking all her words.
Margaret was speechless, wanting to push him away, but he didn't budge and deepened the kiss.
William's strong tongue pried open Margaret's small mouth, intertwining with her lips and teeth, both domineering and gentle.
Margaret couldn't resist and instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck.
This action was incredibly tempting, making William even more uncontrollable.
The atmosphere in the office was filled with inmitation.
It was unclear how long it lasted before William finally ended the deep kiss, still unsatisfied.
Margaret panted heavily, glaring at him. "You rogue!"
William chuckled. "Kissing my fiancée is perfectly legitimate. How is that roguish?"
"It's roguish." Margaret pushed him away angrily and sat on the couch nearby.
William kissed her so intensely that she felt weak all over, her heart still pounding.
William took a step forward, sat next to Margaret, put his arm around her shoulders, and whispered in her ear, "There's something even more roguish. Want to try?"
Margaret was shocked.
"Alright, get to the point. Why did you call me here?" Margaret quickly changed the subject.
If this continued, who knew what shameless things he might do next.
William stopped teasing her, leaned back on the couch, and said in a deep voice, "Angel has late-stage stomach cancer."
"What?" Margaret was shocked.
"Do you believe it?" Margaret turned her head and asked William.
"The doctor said so," William replied calmly.
Margaret said, "There might be something fishy about this."
"Forget it, let her get treated if she's really sick." William rubbed his temples. "But your plan..."
"The plan stays the same!" Margaret said coldly, "After work, go visit her in the hospital."
"You mean..." William glanced at Margaret.
Margaret playfully winked. "You know what I mean."
After work, William drove to the hospital.
He arrived at Angel's ward, and Angel was already awake.
William pushed the door open and walked in.
Angel, with a pale face, saw William and immediately sat up from the bed. "William, what's wrong with me?"
William stood by, hands in his pockets, looking down at her.
He suddenly thought of Margaret's words.
Angel's illness came very suddenly.
"Marjorie, you're sick. The doctor said you have late-stage stomach cancer," William said calmly.
"What?" Angel's eyes widened in disbelief.
"No, that's impossible!" Angel's eyes reddened, and tears flowed uncontrollably.
She cried for a long time before looking up pitifully at William. "William, am I going to die? I don't want to die."
William stood in front of Angel, thinking of Margaret's words.
He asked in a deep voice, "Marjorie, didn't you know you were unwell?"
Illness didn't come suddenly; Angel had always been healthy before.
How could it suddenly be such severe late-stage stomach cancer?
Angel lowered her head, her voice full of grievance. "William, do you think I would lie to you about something like this? I know I've done many wrong things before, and you don't trust me anymore."
Angel tightly clutched the blanket. "William, it doesn't matter if you don't believe me. Just leave me to fend for myself."
William didn't show the pity Angel expected. He just frowned slightly. "The doctor said you have late-stage stomach cancer. If you undergo chemotherapy, you have two years to live. If you don't, you only have a month. No matter which you choose, in your limited time, you can have anything you want, as long as I can provide it."
