Chapter 433 Kiss Scene
Margaret burst out laughing and said, "I just broke the apple peel, I'm fine."
William was stunned.
"Then why'd you scream? You scared me for nothing," he said, letting go of Margaret's hand and going back to his work.
He was clearly upset. He had been genuinely worried, and now Margaret was laughing about it!
She was making light of something he took seriously! Anyone would be annoyed.
"William?"
"William? Why aren't you talking to me? Are you mad?"
William ignored her. Of course, he was mad; he had been worried, and she was joking about it!
Margaret looked at him and laughed again.
"Why do you look like you're throwing a fit?"
"I'm not playing around. I just remembered something; I need to go back to the office. Come with me."
"William, why aren't you talking to me? If you don't come with me, I'll go alone."
Margaret walked to the door and put on her shoes. "William, I'm really going alone. Are you sure you don't want to come with me?"
William kept ignoring her, focused on his computer.
"I'm really leaving."
Margaret pretended to open the door, but William still didn't react. She glanced back at him; he didn't budge.
"William, I'm really leaving."
This time, Margaret actually opened the door and stepped out.
William couldn't sit still. He immediately got up and chased after her. As soon as he opened the door, he knew he had been tricked because he smelled Margaret's familiar perfume.
Next, a pair of delicate hands wrapped around him.
"I knew you wouldn't let me go alone at night."
"William, what are you doing? That hurts!"
William grabbed Margaret's hands and pulled her into his arms, lowering his head to kiss her red lips.
"Stop it." Margaret regretted teasing him; she wouldn't have done it if she knew it would lead to this.
On the way to Margaret's office, William spoke up, "This weekend, we're going to Fisher Manor to talk to Grandpa about our engagement."
Margaret refused without hesitation, "No way."
William turned to her with a cold look, "Are you rejecting me?"
"Yes, is that not allowed?" Margaret replied playfully.
Seeing William's face darken, she quickly added, "Alright, alright, I was joking."
"I have to go to Parislia for a fashion design competition. Even if I hurry, I won't be back for a week, so the engagement will have to wait."
William suddenly slammed on the brakes, causing Margaret to lurch forward. He pulled her close.
Margaret was forcefully kissed.
"William, what are you doing?"
"Just braking properly!"
Margaret was annoyed, but William's mood improved. He pinched her cheek, "No matter what, the engagement has to be our priority."
"Fine," Margaret said, exasperated, "after I get back from Parislia."
At the hospital.
"I know my own body; you don't need to convince me."
Lyle stood by the window, looking at the paparazzi waiting outside.
"But what if Margaret finds out?" His assistant was visibly troubled, wanting to stop him but not daring to.
Hearing Margaret's name, Lyle's intense gaze flickered. "Just do your job."
A clear warning to the assistant not to forget who he worked for.
Lyle put on a mask and sunglasses, completely hiding his handsome face.
They bypassed the paparazzi outside the hospital and reached the parking lot.
The driver looked at Lyle, hesitant to speak, but eventually drove him to the set.
The assistant nervously clutched his phone, looking at Lyle's injuries. "I know I can't stop you, but your wounds have already reopened once. Please be careful while filming."
Lyle didn't remove his sunglasses, glanced at the assistant, pursed his lips, and nodded slightly, making no further moves.
The crew was surprised to see Lyle back so soon.
The director and producer were frantic, rushing to check on him.
"Mr. Pennington, you just got out of the hospital. Your wounds can't be healed yet. Why are you in such a hurry to film? What if something happens again?"
The director was distressed. Lyle's previous accident had already caused a lot of trouble with fans. If something happened again, could they even continue filming?
"Exactly!" The producer chimed in. "We're filming the supporting roles now. Your scenes can wait. Please go back and rest, and come back in your best condition."
Lyle looked at the two, feeling no emotion. With everything that had happened, his mind was a mess, and he needed work to distract himself.
"Director, producer, don't worry. If I'm here, it means I'm fine."
Hearing Lyle's determination, the director and producer exchanged glances and reluctantly backed down, deciding to take good care of him.
"I'll call someone to do your makeup."
The director called for the crew, who quickly led Lyle to the makeup room.
Seraphina was already there, studying her script. Hearing the commotion, she looked up.
Seeing Lyle, her eyes lit up. "Mr. Pennington, you're back!"
Lyle removed his sunglasses and sat down, nodding slightly at Seraphina.
Seeing his usual distant attitude, Seraphina looked back at herself in the mirror, feeling a bit dejected.
The crew called the makeup artist for Lyle while coordinating the shoot over the phone. Once done, they informed Lyle and Seraphina.
"We're filming scene 346 next. Please review the script."
The crew member left quickly to handle other tasks.
Seraphina hurriedly flipped through her script. She remembered scene 346 well...
The makeup artist smiled, "It's a kissing scene. Time to test your acting skills."
The makeup artist's expression was teasing, making Seraphina blush and look down at her script.
She was nervous but curious about Lyle's reaction.
Unfortunately, Lyle remained indifferent throughout the makeup session, leaving Seraphina disappointed.
Their kissing scene was set on a summer night, with the crew bringing in fireflies for effect.
On the grassy field, with a gentle breeze, a handsome man and a shy girl sat under a willow tree, surrounded by twinkling fireflies, creating a romantic atmosphere.
Seraphina sat next to Lyle in a white dress. After hearing his heartfelt confession, she shyly closed her eyes, expecting to feel his warm lips, but she didn't.
