Chapter 374 A Hacker Invasion
William pressed his lips tightly, looking at Margaret with a displeased expression, without saying a word.
Angel heard her words and immediately teared up, gripping William's hand tightly. When she spoke to Margaret, her voice was trembling.
"Margaret, I have no grudge against you. Why do you say such things about me? Why do you want to ruin things between William and me? You know very well that he likes me. He said he would marry me. You are the homewrecker. Why do you keep accusing me?" Angel looked at William with teary eyes, seeking his help.
Margaret crossed her arms over her chest, her gaze shifting between the two, both angry and amused. "Do you really think William likes you and that you will be the rightful future Mrs. Fisher? Let me tell you, Bradley only admitts me as Mrs. Fisher. You are just some wild girl who appeared out of nowhere!"
Margaret glared at Angel, her face full of anger, completely different from her usual calm and elegant demeanor.
Margaret rarely confronted another woman so aggressively.
"You!" Angel's eyes widened as she glared at Margaret, but she only managed to say one word before her steps faltered, looking as if she was about to faint. Her hand went to her forehead, her face pale.
And her hand was clutching William's sleeve, her body about to fall into his arms.
"Marjorie!" William's face turned ashen as he quickly supported Angel, helping her to the couch to rest.
He turned his head, glaring at Margaret with a dark expression, and scolded, "Margaret, haven't you had enough? Marjorie just got out of the hospital. Can you stop causing trouble here?"
Angel looked at William in surprise but felt a bit happy inside.
William was arguing with Margaret for her sake. It seemed Margaret would soon lose William.
Margaret's eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at William, fiercely retorting, "William, what dou you mean by that? It seems she holds quite a place in your heart! Don't forget, Bradley wants me to be your wife. If I don't agree, she!"
Margaret pointed at Angel. "She won't even think about becoming Mrs. Fisher. "
William knocked Margaret's hand away, his voice filled with restrained anger. "Watch your mouth! Don't come here causing trouble. As for you, there's nothing between us anymore. I'll talk to Bradley soon and bring Marjorie over."
"You!" Margaret looked at William in disbelief, then glared at Angel sitting on the couch.
Finally, she gritted her teeth and said, "Fine, William. As long as Bradley likes me, I will always be Mrs. Fisher, and you and she will never get your way."
"Just wait to see," William said coldly. Margaret glared at Angel one last time before storming out.
"William," Angel spoke weakly, looking at William with concern. "Is Margaret really okay?"
"Don't worry about her," William said impatiently, but when he looked at Angel, he deliberately softened his tone. "You just need to rest here."
Margaret left Water Moon Estate with a slight smile on her face.
She had acted like a shrew in the apartment to make Angel completely let her guard down, believing there was no entanglement between her and William, so she could more directly find out who was behind her.
"Grace, the opening ceremony for 'The Last Actor' is tomorrow. You better do something at the ceremony. I want everyone to see Margaret make a fool of herself. I want her to be a laughing stock forever." Lucy and Grace were having coffee on the Thomas Family's garden terrace. Lucy put down her coffee cup and informed Grace in a serious tone.
Grace nodded, smiling obsequiously. "Lucy, don't worry about it. I've already made arrangements."
"Really?" Lucy raised an eyebrow, her tone skeptical.
"Yes," Grace said confidently, "I contacted a hacker with the codename L. He's a well-known hacker. I've asked him to hack into Starlight Entertainment's internal network. When they play the video at the opening ceremony, who knows what will be shown."
Lucy nodded in understanding, a satisfied smile on her lips. "I'll leave it to you. I want to see Margaret humiliated."
After Lucy left, Grace called L, "Do you understand what I asked you to do?"
"Don't worry." A completely unfamiliar voice came from the receiver, clearly altered by a voice changer. "I'm already on it."
"Good," Grace replied, smiling. "If you succeed, you'll be well rewarded. But there's one more thing."
With the opening ceremony approaching, Margaret was typing on her keyboard, preparing to check the video materials for tomorrow on the company's internal network. But as soon as she logged in and opened the webpage, a string of garbled code appeared on the screen, constantly flashing and increasing.
The prepared preview video had been hacked.
Margaret took a deep breath, her brows slightly furrowed. The code used by the hacker was advanced, but for her, it was just a piece of cake.
However, she didn't plan to crack the hacker's code right now.
Margaret knew that many people had grudges against her and wanted to see her embarrassed at the opening ceremony tomorrow. But it was also possible that someone had hired a hacker.
Margaret leaned back in her chair, pinching the bridge of her nose, and casually closed the video page, dialing Anthony's number.
"Ada, what's up?"
"Our company's internal network has been hacked. The video materials for tomorrow's opening ceremony have turned into garbled code."
Anthony was surprised to hear this. "How could that happen? But with your skills, Ada, can't you easily crack the code? Or is there something you need me to do?"
"I can crack the code, but not right now." Margaret chuckled. "I need you to find out who is behind this. Let me know before midnight so I can prepare."
"Got it." Anthony agreed immediately.
