Chapter 255 You Are Leo

At the Clark Mansion, Lucy was sprawled out on the couch, lazily scrolling through her phone. When she saw the trash talk about Margaret online, she lit up like a Christmas tree.

"Lucy, you're a genius. We didn't even have to lift a finger to make Margaret look bad. Now she's a total joke," Grace said, standing in front of Lucy, giggling and buttering her up.

"She had it coming! This is way too easy on her!" Lucy put down her phone, glaring up at Grace.

Lucy heard Margaret's allergy wasn't a big deal anymore. She was really getting off easy. In her head, she cursed, 'That shameless bitch Margaret, it'd be better if her face was completely wrecked!'

Thinking about how William carried Margaret away yesterday, looking all worried about her, made Lucy insanely jealous.

'Margaret looked like a train wreck yesterday, just seeing her makes me wanna puke. Why was William so concerned about her?' She couldn't wrap her head around what made Margaret so special to William.

"Lucy, check this out, the cops just issued a statement saying yesterday's incident was an accident." Grace suddenly pointed at her phone screen and showed it to Lucy.

"Really?" Lucy glanced down and skimmed through it.

The statement basically said that at the opening ceremony of Starlight Entertainment's new drama, their CEO Margaret had an accidental allergic reaction caused by allergens in the bouquet from fans. After investigating, they confirmed it was purely accidental.

Lucy smirked and let out a cold snort. 'How could it be an accident? It is clearly Mia's doing. Margaret's so dumb, getting played by Mia like that.'

"Looks like Mia's not a total idiot, way smarter than Ella was." Lucy grinned, unable to hide her glee.

"Yeah, if Mia can make Margaret look bad in public without leaving any evidence, next time she could totally take Margaret out, " Grace said with a sinister tone. She'd been fed up with Margaret for ages.

Grace had a thing for Lyle for two years, but he only cared about Margaret. She wondered when he would finally notice her. She couldn't wait to get rid of Margaret, feeling just as eager as Lucy.

"Grace, you have a cousin working at Starlight Entertainment, right?" Lucy looked up at Grace.

"Yeah, I know what to do," Grace immediately got the hint.

Lucy nodded and reminded her, "Make sure Mia takes action, and don't let it trace back to us."

"Got it." Grace quickly agreed.

Margaret rested at home for two days, and her allergy completely cleared up.

That evening, Margaret was lying in bed, bored, scrolling through her phone when she suddenly got a call from Juniper.

"Juniper, what's up?" Margaret answered the call.

Juniper's concerned voice came from the other end. "Are you okay? I saw you had an allergic reaction at the opening ceremony."

"I'm fine." Margaret smiled at Juniper's concern, feeling moved.

"Was it really just an accident?" Juniper asked, still worried.

Margaret pursed her lips and came clean, "Of course not. Someone messed with the bouquet to get at me."

"Who?" Juniper's tone got all serious.

Margaret frowned. "No clue yet, but it's probably one of those haters."

"That person must have a death wish." Juniper couldn't help but feel sorry for whoever underestimated Margaret. Anyone who crossed her never had a good ending.

"By the way, the annual fashion design competition is next month. You in, Margaret?" Juniper suddenly remembered and asked.

"Next month?" Margaret was caught off guard.

It was already time for the annual fashion design competition again. In previous years, Margaret always participated as Leo, stunning everyone and snagging the championship.

But now, it was almost the end of the month, and she had to stay in Ravenford to keep an eye on Bradley's condition. She probably didn't have time to join this year's competition.

Thinking of this, Margaret said, "Let the newbies have a shot this year. Angela and Evelyn are pretty good."

"That won't fly. Susan's already thrown down the gauntlet to our studio. If you don't step in, our designers might not be able to handle it. If we lose, our rep built over the years will be toast." Juniper's tone had a hint of worry.

Susan was the chief fashion designer of Sunsan Studio and had always been top dog before Leo showed up. But two years ago, Leo came out of nowhere, beat Susan in the design competition, and Leo Studio had been killing it ever since.

Susan had been holding a grudge, itching for a comeback.

"I see." Margaret rubbed her forehead, feeling a headache coming on. "I'll see if I can make time."

"Margaret, don't just think about working for William's company," Juniper teased, "Leo Studio can't do without you, our top designer!"

"Alright, I got it. Chill, it's just Susan. We won't lose," Margaret said confidently, with a calm and composed smile.

Juniper finally breathed a sigh of relief and smiled. "That's good. I'll be waiting for your good news."

After hanging up, Margaret was about to keep browsing the news when a male voice came from the doorway. "Who were you talking to?"

Margaret looked up to see William leaning against the door frame. He was wearing a white robe, hands in his pockets, looking more relaxed and approachable than his usual aloof self.

Margaret was momentarily stunned. 'When did he come over? How much of my convo with Juniper did he hear?'

"Were you eavesdropping on my call?" Margaret frowned.

William took a step forward, standing in front of Margaret andlooking down at her, then said with a teasing tone, "I wasn't eavesdropping, I was openly listening."

"You, scoundrel!" Margaret rolled her eyes at William. "What did you hear?"

"What do you want me to hear?" William raised an eyebrow and chuckled.

Margaret snorted and ignored William.

William sat down beside Margaret with a meaningful smile, his deep gaze fixed on her face, and asked in a clear voice, "Actually, you are Leo, right?"
