Chapter 443 To Take Margaret's Life

Susan narrowed her eyes, repeating Mia's words softly. "You know him well and can help me," she murmured, sensing something off.

"But I don't know you. What do you want?"

Mia studied Susan's face; her response was expected; she had some brains, after all. "I know you don't know me, and that's not really important," Mia replied. "Let me introduce myself properly. I'm Mia, the heiress of the Davis family from Ravenford. If you follow art news, you might've seen my name before."

"And about Leo, the one you're jealous of, it's simple. She's now the face of Ravenford's Vogue Vision. You must know Margaret."

Susan's face darkened at Mia's words. Everyone knew she was jealous of Leo, but hearing it said to her face was different. However, when she heard the name Margaret, Susan's expression turned to one of surprise, even a bit of shock.

Of course, she knew the name Margaret. She was a regular in the news, the CEO of Starlight Entertainment, and the fiancée of the Fisher Group's heir. She had made quite a splash recently. But to hear that Margaret was Leo? That was unbelievable.

"Are you saying Margaret is Leo?" Susan asked, her voice hesitant and slow, as if to confirm her last suspicion. She had always thought Margaret was just a pampered princess, not someone with such talent.

Mia's eyes glinted with a hint of a smile as she nodded. "Yep, Ms. Scott and I go way back. She stole my boyfriend and humiliated me, making me a laughingstock."

Mia's gaze grew distant, lost in memories. She touched her cheek, her anger simmering. "If it weren't for her, my face wouldn't be like this."

"Your face?" Susan asked, puzzled, her eyes naturally lingering on Mia's face. "What's wrong with your face?"

"You don't know?" Mia gave a self-deprecating smile. This was part of her plan. Susan was just a naive designer. If she didn't know Margaret, Mia would enlighten her. "I told you Margaret stole my boyfriend. Here's what happened..." Mia leaned in, recounting the past grievances between her and Margaret in detail, though how much was embellished, no one could say.

"That's the story," Mia concluded, looking sorrowfully at Susan. "Because of her, I fell off a cliff and had to get reconstructive surgery in Valeria."

Susan was overwhelmed by the flood of information.

Susan's fingers tightened on the chair's armrest as she murmured in shock, "How could this be? I thought she was just a spoiled woman who couldn't do anything. I never expected..."

Mia watched Susan's reaction, satisfied. She quickly masked her smile. "Exactly. So when I saw her winning awards, I felt it was unfair to you and came to find you. I know you used to be number one, and having her steal your spotlight must be infuriating."

Mia feigned understanding, looking at Susan sympathetically. She had seen enough of the world's harshness to recognize the ambition and pride in Susan's eyes.

However, Susan was cautious. She believed Mia's story but wasn't naive enough to trust her completely. "But this is our first meeting. How can I trust you, Miss Davis?" Susan raised her head slightly, showing she was also someone who could negotiate. "And you said you'd help me. How?"

Mia had anticipated this. She didn't know much about design but had watched the competition where Margaret had outshone Susan. Susan's designs lacked that extra spark compared to Margaret's. "Would you like Margaret's design drafts? If you knew what she was planning, you could adjust your designs to outshine hers. I can get you her drafts."

Mia's offer was undeniably tempting. Susan had studied Leo's designs privately. Their styles were similar, but Leo paid more attention to detail. Susan had been trying to emulate Leo's style, especially for her current project. But she had hit a creative block. No one knew about this.

Almost instinctively, Susan glanced at her design drafts on the table, her eyes flickering. Mia watched her intently, confident that Susan would be tempted. For a proud person like Susan, the greatest desire was to defeat the one who had caused her downfall.

"So, are you interested?" Mia nudged, seeing Susan's prolonged silence.

Susan's fingers twitched. She couldn't deny she was tempted. To be the top designer before Margaret, Susan had to be decisive and perceptive. She turned to Mia. "Your offer is indeed tempting."

She wasn't a saint, nor was she morally upright. "So, what do you want me to do?" Susan didn't thank Mia directly. She knew there would be conditions, possibly difficult ones.

"It's simple." Mia stepped closer, almost touching Susan, her right hand on the desk. "I just want Margaret dead."

"Dead?" Susan gasped, her eyes widening in shock. She hadn't expected Mia to be so extreme.
