Chapter 189 Nightmare

William's eyes flickered with surprise as he spotted the middle-aged dude behind Margaret. If he wasn't trippin', that low-key guy had to be Pryce.

William stepped up, trying to sound respectful. "Pryce, thanks."

Pryce just snorted. "If you're gonna thank someone, thank Margaret."

William, who was usually all high and mighty, had never been brushed off like this before. He gave an awkward smile.

People with mad medical skills always seemed a bit quirky. Otherwise, why would Pryce, with his insane skills, hide out in this frozen wasteland? Thinking this, William felt a bit better. He was worried about Bradley. "Margaret, no time to waste. Let's roll."

Margaret gave a slight nod. "Let's go!"

She was also eager to get back to Ravenford to treat Bradley.

William pulled out his phone, about to call Peter, when suddenly Angel came running over, out of breath. She dashed to William's side, grabbing his arm and speaking softly, "William."

Her hair was a mess, and she was in slippers, looking pretty disheveled.

"Marjorie? What's up?" William was taken aback, asking a bit confused.

Angel shot a wary glance at Margaret, tightening her grip on William's arm. "I woke up and couldn't find you. I looked everywhere, and here you are."

William had left while Angel was still asleep. Seeing her anxious now, he patted her shoulder. "Marjorie, Margaret found Pryce. We gotta head back to Ravenford ASAP. You're not fully recovered yet, so stay here for a few days. I'll have Peter come get you soon."

"No, William, I don't wanna stay here alone. I wanna go back with you." Angel shook her head frantically. 'No way I'm letting William and Margaret go off together! Not giving Margaret any chance to get close to William!'

"But your health..." William hesitated.

Angel looked at him with teary eyes, speaking pitifully, "I'm fine. I don't wanna be left alone. I'll be scared."

Seeing Angel's weak and clingy act in front of William, Margaret's face turned cold, and she impatiently urged, "William, are you coming or not?"

"Let's go." William's expression turned serious.

The crew boarded William's private jet, heading towards Ravenford.

"William, is this plane safe?" Juniper, sitting next to Margaret, looked around nervously. "It won't get messed with and crash again, right?"

The last near-death experience when Margaret fell into the sea had freaked Juniper out big time. Now, sitting on William's private jet, even Juniper was getting a fear of heights.

William, sitting in the seat in front of Margaret and Juniper, turned around, his intense eyes locking onto Margaret's face. Their eyes met, and Margaret quickly looked away.

William's handsome face darkened, and he spoke irritably, "What? Juniper, you think I'm the kind of guy who makes the same mistake twice?"

Peter chimed in from the side, "Juniper, chill. I've had the plane checked top to bottom. It's solid, no worries."

"Good to know." Juniper shrugged.

"William, you sure everything's cool?" Angel, naturally glued to William's side, clung to him the whole trip.

"Yeah, it's fine," William replied, sounding a bit distant.

Angel smiled at him, resting her head on his shoulder. "William, ever since I fell off that cliff, heights and flying freak me out."

William's heart skipped a beat. Fear of heights, fear of flying—Margaret got the same issues. Marjorie and Margaret really had a lot in common.

Not catching William's odd reaction, Angel kept going, "But with you here, I'm not scared of anything."

"Okay," William said absentmindedly, "We've got two hours till Ravenford. You should try to rest."

Shivering, Angel snuggled into William's arms. "William, I'm so cold."

Angel clung to him, making William feel a bit awkward. He gently pushed her away, took off his suit jacket, and draped it over her, speaking indifferently, "This should help."

Sensing William's distance, Angel's expression shifted slightly. She glanced at the stone-faced Margaret in the back seat and then smiled sweetly. "William, you're so good to me."

This scene was particularly annoying to Margaret. She just closed her eyes, out of sight, out of mind.

In her mind, she couldn't help but recall the crash when she and William returned from Fleurancia. It had only been half a month, but it felt like ages ago. Back then, William had spoken to her so earnestly. How much of it was real?

Frowning, Margaret took a few deep breaths, trying to shake off these weird feelings.

'Did William figure out who was behind the crash? Was it Ulysses? If so, why haven't I heard anything about Ulysses? If not, then who could it be?' Lost in thought, Margaret's eyelids grew heavier, and she finally drifted off.

She didn't sleep well. In her dream, she seemed to be locked in a dark, windowless room. People were threatening and beating her. She wanted to fight back but couldn't.

The scene suddenly changed, and she was stumbling through a forest. A bunch of scary-looking people were chasing her. Seeing them getting closer, Margaret ran desperately. But ahead was a cliff. She looked down, seeing only darkness, bottomless.

She had nowhere to go!

Just as Margaret was freaking out, a tall woman in high heels walked towards her with a cold smile. It was Angel!

Step by step, Angel approached Margaret, her face twisted, her red lips like a snake's tongue. "William is mine. No one can take him away! Not even you, Margaret!"

With that, Angel reached out and pushed Margaret off the cliff!

"No! Don't!" The terrifying feeling of falling spread through her body, and Margaret woke up with a start.
