Chapter 485 Crazy Pursuit

A lunch that was supposed to be pleasant for Margaret turned sour because of Daisy and Abigail.

"Grandpa, you can stay at the Fisher Manor. William and I are heading out," Margaret said, standing up after lunch, her enthusiasm clearly dampened.

Xavier was only back in the country for a few days to attend the engagement ceremony before continuing his world tour. Margaret had arranged for him to stay at the Fisher Manor, which was also Bradley's suggestion.

"Alright," Xavier replied with a warm smile.

Despite Daisy and Abigail's constant troublemaking, as long as William was there to protect Margaret, Xavier felt reassured. He also believed his beloved granddaughter could handle those two difficult women.

As they left the Fisher Manor, Margaret got into William's car. "Can you take me back to Water Moon Estate? I'm feeling a bit tired and want to rest."

"Are you okay?" William asked, concern evident in his eyes.

Margaret smiled faintly. "I'm fine, just a bit tired."

"Alright," William nodded, driving her back to Water Moon Estate before heading to work at the Fisher Group.

Margaret was about to take a nap when she received a call from Seraphina.

Could it be that Rex was bothering Seraphina again?

Margaret answered the call, puzzled. "Seraphina, what's up?"

"Margaret, you need to come to the office right now," Seraphina's voice was urgent.

Margaret's heart skipped a beat. "What happened?"

"Zane is making a huge scene," Seraphina explained. "He's covered the entrance with roses, put up banners, and even brought a ceremonial team to publicly declare his love for you. There are tons of reporters here, and Mr. Pennington is trying to reason with him."

Margaret rubbed her temples in frustration.

What was Zane thinking?

Hadn't she made it clear to him already?

"Alright, I got it. I'll be there to handle it," Margaret said coldly.

When Margaret arrived at the entrance of Starlight Entertainment, it was just as Seraphina had described—a grand spectacle.

The area was filled with vibrant blue roses arranged in beautiful patterns, with a large sign in the middle that read, "Margaret, I love you!"

Banners with love declarations for Margaret were draped over nearby buildings.

Prince Zane certainly knew how to make a statement.

But the bigger the spectacle, the more it gave Margaret a headache.

Reporters swarmed around Zane, eager to get their questions in:

"Prince Zane, when did you meet Ms. Scott? Was it love at first sight?" one reporter asked, shoving a microphone towards Zane.

"Yes," Zane nodded, openly expressing his admiration for Margaret. "I met Ms. Scott at a party in Fleurancia. It was love at first sight. Margaret is my goddess, and I love her!"

"How romantic! But Prince, are you aware that Ms. Scott is engaged to Mr. Fisher? Their engagement ceremony is next weekend. What are your thoughts on that?" another reporter pressed.

"I know," Zane shrugged, his smile unwavering. "It's just an engagement. As long as she's not married, she's single, and I have the right to pursue her."

Margaret arrived just in time to hear Zane's bold statement.

Was he out of his mind?

Hadn't she already told him clearly that she was William's fiancée and that they were in love? What was Zane trying to do?

"Ms. Scott is here!" an eagle-eyed reporter shouted, causing a rush of reporters to surround Margaret, cameras aimed at her.

"Ms. Scott, what's your relationship with Zane? He says it was love at first sight. What about you? What's your take on this?"

"Does Mr. Fisher know that Zane is pursuing you? Will this affect your engagement next week?"

"Ms. Scott, will you choose Zane over Mr. Fisher? Or are you playing both sides? There were rumors about you and Lyle before. Are you indecisive?" one particularly rude reporter asked.

Margaret frowned. "William and I will proceed with our engagement as planned. Please stop making malicious speculations. That's all."

With that, she pushed through the reporters, instructing security to hold them back.

"Margaret, you finally came to work!" Zane exclaimed, his blue eyes filled with joy and affection.

He had been waiting at Starlight Entertainment all day, hoping to see Margaret, and now she was finally here.

"This is a special surprise I prepared for you. Do you like it?" Zane asked, producing a bouquet of roses and kneeling on one knee to present them to her.

Margaret was exasperated.

A surprise?

More like a shock!

"Get up," Margaret said, seeing that Zane wouldn't rise unless she accepted the roses. She quickly reached out to help him up.

Zane stood, his gaze intense. "Margaret, if you don't like roses, tell me what you do like. I'll get it for you, no matter what it is. Even if you want the moon, I'll find a way to get it for you!"

Margaret was speechless.

She took a deep breath. "Come inside with me."

Margaret led Zane to the reception room at Starlight Entertainment and pointed to the sofa. "Sit down."

Zane sat, his eyes never leaving Margaret.

The elegant and captivating Solstice girl in front of him had completely captured his heart.

"Zane, we need to talk," Margaret said, sitting down beside him.

"Okay!" Zane nodded.

Margaret cleared her throat. "You know about my relationship with William, right? We're getting engaged next week."

"I know, but so what?" Zane's eyes dimmed slightly, sensing Margaret's rejection.

As a prince with striking looks, Zane was a national idol in Fleurancia, adored by young women everywhere. Yet, he had never felt anything special for any of them, even the few girlfriends he had had before.

Until he met Margaret at Michelle's birthday party.

This beautiful, confident, and radiant girl had struck him like Cupid's arrow.

He had traveled all the way to Solstice to tell Margaret that he loved her.

He wanted to pursue her and make her his princess!
