Chapter 202 Kneel Down and Apologize to Me

"Move it!" Margaret snapped, shoving Grace aside and storming out the door.

She hadn't gotten far when Lucy and Grace caught up. "Margaret, hold up!"

"What now?" Margaret groaned, clearly ticked off.

Grace marched up, jabbing a finger at her shoulder. "You just wrecked my dress!"

Margaret's eyes flicked to the torn fabric, a smirk playing on her lips. Sure enough, there was a nasty rip. Seriously? She barely nudged Grace. Were they trying to set her up again? So lame.

Lucy shot Grace a look, and Grace stepped up, sneering. "Margaret, this dress is custom from Lurigang, five million bucks. How you gonna pay for that?"

Margaret scoffed. "Oh, please. When did I ruin your dress?"

"Don't play dumb! You were mad 'cause Lucy bought everything you wanted, so you shoved me and tore my dress. Lucy saw it too!" Grace shouted, making sure everyone heard.

"Margaret, apologize to Grace now!" Lucy demanded, ice in her voice.

They were out to humiliate her, make her a laughingstock. Passersby started whispering.

"Isn't that Margaret Scott?" one asked.

"Yeah, the one William Fisher dumped," another replied. "Heard she won't leave him alone."

"Really? I saw online she's with Lyle now. Living together, even!"

"She's just stringing along multiple guys."

"So shameless!" the crowd jeered.

Margaret's frown deepened. Who was spreading these wild rumors? Probably Lucy.

Reporters, tipped off by Lucy, swarmed in, cameras flashing. "Ms. Scott, why'd you push Ms. Thomas and ruin her dress? Did you have a grudge?"

Margaret's patience snapped. "I didn't push her or ruin her dress. End of story."

She turned to leave, but Grace and Lucy blocked her.

"Think you can just walk away after wrecking my dress? No way!" Grace hissed, eyes blazing with jealousy and spite.

"You know damn well if I ruined your dress or not," Margaret said, eyes narrowing. "What do you want?"

"Pay up, of course!" Grace's voice got louder. "Five million bucks, not a penny less!"

"Oh, right, almost forgot. William dumped you, and you're not his fiancée anymore. Bet you can't even scrape together five million now." Grace's lips curled into a smug grin. "How about this? Kneel and apologize, and maybe I won't ask for the money."

Margaret's face grew colder. She didn't want to waste time on these two, but they just wouldn't quit. Fine, if they wanted a fight, she'd give them one.

Margaret's eyes turned icy. "Grace, if you're so sure I ruined your dress, show me the proof, or I'll sue you for slander."

"Proof?" Grace's eyes flickered. "Easy. Your fingerprints must be on the dress. Call the cops, and we'll see. Plus, Lucy saw it all."

Grace sounded confident. Margaret did push her, so her prints should be there. Even if the cops got involved, she wasn't worried.

"No need for all that," Margaret said with a sly smile. "The boutique has cameras. Let's check the footage."

"Sure," Grace agreed quickly.

Margaret was surprised at how fast Grace agreed. The cameras should show she barely touched Grace. The dress was probably torn by Grace or Lucy to frame her. Why wasn't Grace scared of being exposed? Something felt off.

Seeing Margaret hesitate, Grace taunted, "Don't forget to kneel and apologize when the truth comes out!"

Grace's cousin worked at the boutique, handling security. Deleting footage was a breeze for him. Grace had already messaged her cousin, so she wasn't worried about the cameras.
