Chapter 365 The Jealous Enemy

A day had passed, and there was still no news from Alden.

Margaret couldn't stand it any longer and persuaded Juniper to go home and rest.

As for Alden, she would think of another way.

That afternoon, the flight Pryce was on happened to arrive in Ravenford.

Margaret spotted Pryce in the crowd and waved vigorously. "Pryce!"

She quickly ran to Pryce's side and took the suitcase from his hand.

Pryce smiled. "What's the situation with Juniper's boyfriend now? Let's go straight to the hospital."

Hearing Pryce mention Alden, Margaret was silent for a moment and shook her head. "He broke up with Juniper and ran out of the hospital yesterday. Juniper and I still don't know where he went, and we can't find him. Pryce, maybe you should rest at the hotel for a few days first."

Pryce frowned. "Alright then."

Margaret suddenly thought of Betty and tentatively asked, "By the way, Pryce, I have a question for you."

The moment Pryce looked over, Margaret carefully said, "I want to know who Betty is. Why do people say I look like her, and are you two friends?"

When Pryce heard Betty's name, his eyes dimmed. He was silent for a long time before asking, "How did you know? Why are you asking about Betty?"

Margaret told Pryce everything about chatting with the old lady in the mountains.

Pryce slightly raised his head, deliberately avoiding Margaret's gaze. "Just an old friend from the past, nothing much to say."

Sensing Pryce's insistence on not talking, Margaret's curiosity grew even stronger. 'Who exactly is this Betty? Why won't Pryce tell me?'

But since it was Pryce's private matter, if he didn't want to talk about it, she couldn't ask more.

Several days passed in a flash, and there was still no news from Alden.

At the bar, Juniper sat alone at the bar, with half a bottle of whiskey beside her. The glass she picked up still had a bit left, and she took a big gulp without noticing, feeling extremely bitter inside.

At this moment, her phone kept ringing. Juniper took out her phone and casually pressed the answer button.

"Juniper, where are you? Why haven't you answered any of my calls?" Margaret asked worriedly.

Juniper, drunk and slurring, said, "I'm at the bar we always go to, drinking. Don't worry about me."

"I'll come get you," Margaret sighed, worried about Juniper.

Half an hour later, Margaret's car stopped at the bar's entrance.

Inside was a scene of debauchery, with various men and women drinking and flirting.

Margaret pushed through the crowd, her eyes searching for Juniper. Then, she caught a glimpse of a familiar figure.

Annie, wearing a sequined strap dress, was snuggled up to a blonde, blue-eyed man, holding a glass and smiling as she fed him a drink.

"Mr. Finley, we have a deal. After I finish this drink with you, the supporting role in your new movie must be mine!" Annie said.

"Sure," Jhon Finley, a well-known investor in Fleurancia who had funded many movies, slapped Annie's smooth, white thigh, his eyes gleaming. "As long as you keep me company, it's all yours."

Annie forced a smile, suppressing her disgust. She inadvertently turned her gaze and locked eyes with Margaret.

Annie's expression turned cold and serious.

'Margaret? How does she still have the nerve to show up here? If it weren't for her, would I have fallen to being a nobody in the acting world? Now, I have to drink and sleep with men for a lousy role? It's so unfair!' Thinking of this, Annie gritted her teeth in hatred.

"What are you looking at?" Jhon noticed Annie's odd gaze and asked.

He followed her gaze.

The moment he saw Margaret, Jhon's eyes lit up. He had never seen such a beautiful woman in Ravenford.

"He clicked his tongue, his thumb unconsciously brushing his lower lip, eyes gleaming with excitement. It was the look of a predator spotting its prey. "She's gorgeous, a real stunner."

Annie, always observant of Jhon's every move, knew he was a lecher with many perverse habits in sex. She had endured a lot to get a few minor roles from him.

But seeing Jhon like this, he must be interested in Margaret.

Annie knew him too well, and her jealousy towards Margaret grew with her fingers tightly gripping her dress hem as she glared venomously at Margaret.

Margaret didn't look at Annie again, thinking avoiding trouble was best; her priority was finding Juniper.

Seeing Margaret about to leave, Jhon couldn't sit still. He quickly pushed through the crowd and approached Margaret, putting on what he thought was a gentlemanly smile.

"Hello, beautiful lady. Are you alone? Interested in joining me for a drink over there?" Jhon pointed to his booth, his eyes shamelessly roaming over Margaret.

Margaret took a cautious step back, her voice cold. "Sorry, my friend is here. I need to find her."

She tried to walk past Jhon, but he grabbed her wrist, pulling her close.

Feigning politeness, Jhon said, "No rush, beautiful lady. If you have a drink with me, I'll be very happy. Then we can look for your friend together."

Margaret looked at Jhon with disgust, keeping her distance and yanking her hand back. "Please watch your behave!"

Jhon's expression turned serious, clearly provoked by Margaret's look. He no longer intended to hide his true self.

He forcefully pulled Margaret into his arms, trying to kiss her, even somewhat angrily.

But Margaret wasn't having it. Seeing she couldn't break free, she viciously stomped on Jhon's foot. As he let go in pain, she slapped him hard across the face. "Sorry, I'm really not interested in someone like you. If you don't want a second slap, step aside!"

Margaret coldly threw down these words and quickly left.

Jhon glared hatefully at her retreating figure, thinking, 'I have never been so humiliated! Damn it! I have to find a way to get this woman!'
