Chapter 74 A Golden Opportunity

In the middle of everyone's shocked stares, Margaret grabbed the dress and snipped off all the buttons from the back with a pair of scissors.

People were looking at each other, totally baffled. What the heck was Margaret up to? Why'd she chop off all the buttons? Wasn't that gonna wreck the dress?

Margaret quickly stitched the buttons back on, leaving everyone floored by her mad skills.

William's intense gaze was locked on Margaret, a spark of curiosity in his eyes. His fiancée from the sticks had once again blown his mind. Knowing this dress was a Leo Studio design, if she wasn't sure of her skills, how could she just chop off the buttons and sew them back on like it was nothing?

In just five minutes, Margaret had the nine buttons back on, perfectly lined up, no sign of the original spots.

"Done." Margaret put away the needle and thread, tossing them into the toolbox beside her.

Out of nowhere, William walked up to her, his deep voice whispering in her ear, just loud enough for her to hear, "You even know this?"

Margaret packed up the toolbox and shot him a grin. "Did you forget I'm from the countryside? If I didn't pick up a few tricks, how would I survive?"

Ignoring William, Margaret grabbed the dress and handed it to Seraphina. "Go try it on."

Seraphina took the dress to the fitting room. When she came out, the dress looked even more stunning on her than it did on Annie.

Margaret was pleased, and William's admiration for her taste grew even more. Seraphina was definitely a better fit than Annie.

With everything set, Margaret turned to the photographer, "Alright, let's get this shoot started."

For her first big ad shoot, Seraphina seemed a bit jittery and couldn't fully relax. Margaret called for a break several times and personally showed Seraphina how it was done.

"Don't be nervous, just chill. Treat it like your usual practice." Margaret patiently coached Seraphina.

Standing off to the side, William watched Margaret working seriously and couldn't help but smile. His fiancée was seriously multi-talented. Bradley was spot on; he was discovering Margaret's strengths bit by bit. If it weren't for Marjorie, maybe he could really be with Margaret.

But thinking of Marjorie, William's gaze darkened a bit. He'd been searching for her for so many years with no luck. Where was his Marjorie now?

Seraphina earnestly took in Margaret's advice, and after a few tries, she finally got into the groove, meeting Margaret's standards.

"Not bad, keep it up." Margaret smiled, satisfied.

Two hours later, the shoot was wrapped up. Seraphina let out a long sigh of relief and looked at Margaret with gratitude. "Thanks for teaching me so much."

Margaret gave a faint smile. "It's my job."

"Remember to be here at 9:00 AM sharp tomorrow. We're shooting on location," Margaret told Lyle and Seraphina.

"Margaret, you free for dinner tonight? I got those materials I mentioned last time to give you." Lyle's calm and clear voice had a hint of hope.

He'd wrapped up his plan to steer Starlight Entertainment back to the domestic market and was all set to show it to Margaret.

Margaret was about to say something when William stepped in, standing right next to her, his big hand around her waist, and said in a deep voice, "She's not."

Margaret blushed, feeling a bit awkward with William's close move in front of Lyle.

Was he marking his territory or something? There was nothing between them, so why was he making decisions for her?

Lyle had a legit reason to have dinner with her, but William's move stung. He pursed his lips and turned away without a word.

"Lyle." Margaret wanted to run after him to explain, but William's big hand held her firmly in place. Margaret shot William a glare. "Let go of me."

"Can't wait to be with Lyle, huh?" William's face was dark and stormy.

"What does this have to do with you?" Margaret yanked herself free from William. "Stay out of my business from now on."

With William's icy stare burning into her back, Margaret turned and walked away.

Lucy had been in a foul mood these past few days. She'd planned to get Annie to deal with Margaret, but who knew Annie would be so useless, losing in just one round.

She couldn't figure out what kind of skills Margaret had that always let her come out on top.

Lucy was about to ask Grace to go shopping when the butler came in and said, "Miss, Ella is here to see you."

Ella? Lucy waved her hand impatiently. "I don't want to see her!"

"Yes, Miss." The butler turned and left.

Lucy called Grace, and they arranged a meeting.

Driving out of the Clark residence's gate, Lucy was blocked by a figure, who suddenly darted out in front of her. She slammed on the brakes, nearly smashing into the windshield.

"Where did this nutjob come from?" Lucy angrily got out of the car, only to see it was Ella blocking her way.

"It's you?" Lucy frowned at Ella. "Are you nuts? Why are you blocking my car?"

"Miss Clark, you have to help me." Ella looked a bit rough around the edges.

Since getting booted from the Fisher Group, she'd been blacklisted and couldn't find work. Now, she was at her wit's end. With no other options, Ella remembered how Lucy had once tried to recruit her.

"Help you? I haven't even settled the score with you yet!" Lucy snapped. "Who told you to stab William?"

"It was an accident! My target was Margaret." At the mention of Margaret, Ella gritted her teeth. "But who knew William would take the knife for Margaret! It's all that bitch Margaret's fault. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have been fired by William, and I wouldn't be jobless now!"

Lucy smirked. "You said it yourself, Margaret is the one who screwed you over. Why don't you take revenge on her?"

"I want to!" Ella clenched her fists. "But Margaret is either at the Fisher Group or at William's house. I have no chance to get close to her, let alone settle the score."

"I see." Lucy pondered. "I heard Margaret will be shooting an outdoor ad at Lover's Lake tomorrow. Lover's Lake has so many drownings every year. If something is to happen to Margaret tomorrow..."

"Yes, an accident!" Ella's eyes gleamed with malice.

Tomorrow would be her perfect chance!
