Chapter 367 Lucy's Scheme

Jhon's face froze instantly.

'How could this happen? Annie clearly said she put the necklace in Margaret's bag, so how does it end up in Annie's bag? Could it be that Annie wants to steal my necklace?' Thinking of this, Jhon looked at Annie angrily. "What's going on?"

Annie's face turned pale and then flushed, looking flustered. "It wasn't me!"

Margaret was about to speak when a clear male voice suddenly came from not far away. "Attempting to steal someone else's property and framing them is a crime that can land you in jail. And this necklace is worth two million dollars; Annie, you might end up spending a long time behind bars."

The voice was so familiar.

Margaret's heart skipped a beat.

She instinctively turned her head and saw the tall, handsome William walking towards them.

She couldn't help but thought, 'Isn't he supposed to be in Maplewood? Why does he suddenly come back?'

Facing Margaret's puzzled gaze, William smiled and coldly instructed the security guards beside him, "Take Annie to the police station, and Mr. Finley here might as well go along to give a statement."

As soon as he finished speaking, two security guards forcibly took Annie out of the bar. Jhon, intimidated by William's imposing presence, couldn't say a word and slunk away.

After the commotion ended, Margaret finally breathed a sigh of relief. She looked at William. "Why did you suddenly come back? You didn't even tell me."

"Missed you, so I came back." William ruffled Margaret's hair, his lips close to her ear. "But that trick you just pulled was pretty impressive."

His warm breath tickled Margaret's ear, making her blush. "So you saw everything."

Earlier, when Annie was conspiring with Jhon to frame her, Margaret had already noticed.

As for the two-million-dollar necklace, it was indeed placed in her bag by Annie at first. But when Margaret pretended to help Juniper and took advantage of Annie turning to deal with other men hitting on her, she discreetly opened Annie's purse on the bar and successfully transferred the necklace.

It was a simple move, and Margaret did it very discreetly, but she didn't expect William to see it.

"Yes, I saw it." William raised an eyebrow with a half-smile. "I called you earlier to find out where you were, and I ended up witnessing such a dramatic scene."

He stepped closer to Margaret, his hands encircling her waist, their eyes meeting at a close distance.

The atmosphere was very intimate.

"But, this is the you that I like." William's fingers brushed a strand of hair from Margaret's cheek, tucking it gently behind her ear.

During the days they were apart, he thought about her constantly.

"Did you miss me?" William's deep voice sounded in her ear, making Margaret blush. Indeed, She also missed him.

She paused for a few seconds, then stood on tiptoe and planted a kiss on William's forehead. "I missed you too."

William was taken aback. Margaret rarely expressed her feelings so directly, and it was a pleasant surprise for him. He smiled and hugged her tighter, resting his chin on her shoulder. "Really? Don't move, let me just hold you like this."

Margaret smiled and pushed William away. "Alright, let's get Juniper home first. This isn't the place to talk."

William had no choice but to let her go. Margaret helped the still-drunk Juniper, and the three of them left the bar together.

At the Police Station, Annie was extremely nervous. If she was convicted of theft, her life would be ruined.

She cursed in her head, 'It must have been Margaret who set me up! That shameless bitch!'

Just then, a police officer came over with a man in a black suit and glasses. "Annie, you can go now."

"Really?" Annie looked up in surprise.

"This gentleman has vouched for you and paid your fine. You can leave now." The officer knocked on the door, repeating mechanically, then walked away, leaving the man in the black suit standing at the door.

The man adjusted his glasses. "Miss , I'm here to help you. Someone asked me to pay your fine and get you out. They want to meet you."

"Meet me?" Annie pointed to herself in confusion, then saw the man's expression and became wary. "Who wants to meet me?"

"You'll find out soon enough." The man in glasses took Annie to Room 3103 in a hotel, nodded at her, and left.

Annie was puzzled about who had saved her.

She took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

"Come in!" A young woman's voice called out, sounding somewhat familiar.

Annie pushed the door open and was momentarily stunned when she saw the woman sitting inside.

The woman sitting on the couch was Lucy.

"Annie." Lucy looked up. "Come in."

Annie suddenly realized that it was Lucy who had saved her, but she didin't knoe why lucky was suddenly so kind to her.

Annie hesitated and asked, "Ms. Clark, was it you who got me out?"

"Yes." Lucy nodded straightforwardly. "I know someone must have framed you, right? Is it Margaret?"

Her words hit the nail on the head, and Annie's eyes instantly reddened, nodding heavily as if she had a lot of grievances.

A flash of triumph crossed Lucy's eyes. She patted Annie's hand and comforted her, "I know you've been wronged. Don't be afraid; I'll help you from now on."

"You'll help me?" Annie's eyes lit up with surprise but also wariness. "What's the catch?"

Lucy added, "Help me get rid of Margaret. We both have our own goals. Once you help me get rid of her, I can make you an international star."

Annie hated Margaret to the core, and with Lucy's offer, she must be tempted.

"Deal!" Annie said firmly.

Lucy smiled slightly, a sinister glint in her eyes. 'Margaret, just you wait!

Thinking with only Annie wasn't enough, she needed someone more influential.

Lucy pondered, and a plan began to form in her mind.

The next morning, Lucy went to Starlight Entertainment.

Lyle was organizing some documents in his office when he looked up and saw Lucy standing at the door.

"Lyle, can we talk?" Lucy stepped inside.

Lyle's eyes were indifferent. "Ms. Clark, what can I do for you?"

"Let's not beat around the bush." Lucy sat on the couch and looked Lyle. "I know you like Margaret. How about we work together? If you help me get William, Margaret will naturally be yours."
