Chapter 271 Unveiling the Truth 2

As soon as Margaret finished talking, everyone's eyes zeroed in on Mia.

Mia's face twisted. "Ms. Scott, what are you getting at?"

"I think I made myself pretty clear." Margaret's gaze was cold. "You're the one behind all this, trying to set up Skylar!"

"Margaret, quit throwing dirt on my name!" Mia snarled, her teeth clenched. "Do you have any proof that it was me?"

"Oh, I've got proof alright." Margaret smirked, all calm and collected. "Mia, you've pulled so much shady stuff behind my back, did you really think no one would catch on?"

"You're lying, I didn't do it!" Mia took a step back, feeling the weight of Margaret's intense stare. She took a few deep breaths, trying to keep it together.

Mia had no idea why Margaret was suddenly pointing fingers at her. Everything was supposed to go smoothly, pinning it all on Skylar. But now, everything was going off the rails. Not only was Margaret fine, but she was also calling her out in front of everyone.Panic started to creep in. Mia kept telling herself to stay cool.

'Maybe this is just Margaret's guess, a trick to mess with me. She can't have any real proof. If she did, she'd have shown it by now.' With that thought, Mia felt a bit calmer.

She met Margaret's icy stare and scoffed, "Ms. Scott, don't talk crap if you don't have proof. I just joined the crew yesterday to guest star as a pianist, how could it be me?"

"Alright, let me break it down for you, piece by piece, so you can't deny it!" Margaret's eyes narrowed. "At the opening ceremony, you messed with the bouquet to trigger my allergy; you told the props crew to loosen the screws on the swing to try and kill me; you had Arlene drug the horses, and today, you had Arlene swap the prop knife with a real one to frame Skylar. All of this was you, Mia!"

The crowd went wild.

"Was it really Mia?"

"Ms. Scott wouldn't just make stuff up, right?"

"But why would Mia do that?"

"Why not? Mia already tried to smear Ms. Scott before and caused a scene at the awards show, only to get exposed by Ms. Scott. She must be holding a grudge."

"Skylar didn't even have beef with her, and she still tried to frame her. That's cold!"

All the harsh words hit Mia like a ton of bricks, and her face kept changing.

"Margaret, you're defaming me. I'll  sue you for this!" Mia's voice went up a notch, trying to sound tough.

"You know damn well if it's defamation or not." Margaret crossed her arms, her cold eyes locked on Mia. "Let's start with the first thing, the bouquet at the opening ceremony."

"You secretly messed with those flowers. You knew I was allergic to platinum, so you dumped a bunch of it in the bouquet to mess me up, right?" Margaret asked, cool as a cucumber.

"These are just your wild guesses. I didn't do it, stop accusing me!" Mia bit her lip, trying to keep her cool.

Margaret smirked and pulled out her phone. "Alright, check out these two videos before you start yapping."

She hit play on the video Anthony had sent her.

The video showed a coffee shop scene. By the window, two young girls were chatting—the same ones who had given flowers to Margaret and Lyle at the opening ceremony.

"We gotta hit up Lyle's new movie's opening tonight," the girl in the blue dress said, "My brother works at Starlight Entertainment, he can get us in."

"Totally!" The girl in the red dress nodded eagerly. "I wanna get Lyle's autograph and snap a pic with him, I'm such a fan!"

"How about we give him flowers? We'll definitely make it to the entertainment news," the girl in blue suggested.

The girl in red beamed. "For sure! I heard Ms. Scott will be there too. Honestly, Ms. Scott and Lyle are such a cute pair."

"Then let's buy two bouquets and give one to each of them."

As they excitedly planned, the camera panned to a stylishly dressed woman at the next table—it was Mia. When she overheard the girls' convo, her eyes narrowed, a scheming look on her face.

Margaret turned off the video and stared at Mia, her voice icy. "You overheard these two students, knew they'd be at the opening with flowers for me and Lyle, so you messed with the bouquet!"

"Ms. Scott, you're seriously losing it. I was just having coffee. How is this evidence? It's laughable." Mia relaxed a bit after watching the video, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

She thought Margaret had some solid proof, but it was just a random video, proving nothing.

"Hold up, there's more," Margaret said, playing the next video.

This one was shot on a street near Starlight Entertainment.

The same two girls were the stars, each holding a bouquet, ready to give them to Lyle and Margaret at the opening.

"I'm so nervous," the girl in blue said, her voice a mix of nerves and excitement. "Do you think Lyle will let us give him the flowers?"

The girl in red was just as excited. "He should! I heard Lyle's super nice to his fans. We'll just go for it."

As they chatted, a tall guy walked towards them, eyes glued to his phone. He bumped into them, making them drop the bouquets. The guy apologized, "I'm so sorry, I didn't see you."

As he spoke, he picked up the bouquets and handed them back. "Here, you dropped these. My bad."

Margaret slowed down the video, making it crystal clear that the guy quickly sprinkled a bunch of silver powder into the bouquets as he picked them up.
