Chapter 60 Secretly Photographed
If she remembered right, Margaret was William's fiancée!
And Lucy? She'd been head over heels for William forever.
At Victor's birthday bash, Lucy set up this whole scheme to make Margaret look bad. She tried to pin the blame on Margaret for swiping her diamond ring, hoping William would dump her, but Margaret handled it like a pro.
Lucy hated Margaret's guts and was always telling her crew they needed to get rid of her.
If she spilled the beans to Lucy that Margaret was sneaking around with Lyle behind William's back, Lucy would lose her mind with joy.
But what was Margaret doing with Lyle?
And Lyle was holding Margaret's hand, looking all cozy.
Was there something going on between Margaret and Lyle?
How could a movie star like Lyle be into Margaret?
It had to be that Margaret, using her looks, shamelessly seduced Lyle!
Seeing her idol look at Margaret so fondly, Grace's jealousy flared up. She snapped a pic with her phone and sent it to Lucy.
Lucy was out shopping with some friends when she saw the photo Grace sent.
The figures in the pic were super blurry, and she couldn't tell who they were. Lucy just felt confused and ignored Grace.
Grace waited a bit, and when Lucy didn't respond, she texted: [Lucy, did you see the pic I sent? Margaret is with Lyle.]
Lucy got the text and took a closer look at the photo. Even though it was blurry, the woman really did look like Margaret.
So, Margaret was seeing another guy behind William's back?
Lucy got all excited and quickly called Grace, "You said Margaret is with Lyle. Is that for real?"
"Totally, I saw it with my own eyes." Grace pursed her lips, her eyes burning with jealousy as she stared at Lyle.
She couldn't get why Margaret was so special. Why did Lyle look at her with such deep affection?
What was really going on between Margaret and Lyle?
"Where are they now?" Lucy decided she had to see this for herself.
If Grace was right and William found out his fiancée was cheating, it would be epic.
Someone as proud and high-class as William would never let his fiancée betray him, which meant Margaret would be out on her ear, maybe even worse.
Just thinking about William kicking Margaret out made Lucy giddy.
She quickly told Grace, "The pic you sent was too blurry. Get more shots. Keep an eye on them. I'm heading over now."
"Got it!" Grace nodded and agreed right away.
Grace pulled out her phone and took a few more pics, but Margaret and Lyle were sitting in a corner of the café, too far away, and from her angle, she could only get side shots.
So, Grace tried to walk into the café, but the waiter stopped her.
"Sorry, miss, this area is booked today. We can't let anyone else in."
"Let me in, and this cash is yours." Grace pulled out a stack of bills and tried to slip it to the waiter.
"I'm really sorry." The waiter smiled politely and refused.
Inside the café, Margaret pulled her hand back and said seriously, "Lyle, I've told you a million times, we're just not right for each other. You need to focus on your career."
"Why aren't we right?" Lyle pressed. "Is it because of William?"
Margaret bit her lip, trying to figure out how to explain, when Lyle leaned in and said softly, "Margaret, there's something you don't know."
Margaret's curiosity got the best of her. "What is it?"
Lyle smirked. "William's got a girl he's always been in love with."
Margaret's mind raced. 'A girl he loves?'
"Is it Marjorie?" Margaret took a deep breath.
"You know about her?" Lyle looked shocked.
Margaret nodded, eyes downcast.
"Since you know about Marjorie, you should realize William's heart belongs to her. He doesn't love you. You won't be happy with him."
Remembering how William had drunkenly called out Marjorie's name that night, Margaret felt a sharp pain in her chest.
She was about to say something when she heard a commotion outside.
Margaret glanced at the door. "What's going on?"
"I'll check it out." Lyle got up and headed for the door.
He'd noticed a flash, probably from a paparazzi's camera.
Grace was still trying to talk her way past the waiter when she saw a tall figure approaching—Lyle.
Her heart started racing.
"What's happening?" Lyle asked in a low voice.
"Sorry sir, this lady insists on coming in," the waiter quickly explained.
Lyle's cold eyes locked onto Grace. "What do you want?"
Grace felt a jolt run through her.
Standing in front of her, Lyle was even more stunning than on TV, with a cool, handsome face tinged with melancholy.
After a few seconds of staring, Grace finally snapped out of it and said, "Lyle, I'm a huge fan. You're so handsome, can I get your autograph?"
It was her first time this close to her idol, and she was so nervous she stuttered.
So she was a fan, Lyle realized.
Lyle's gaze shifted to Grace's phone. "Were you taking pictures of me just now?"
"I..." Grace's hand holding the phone shook slightly.
"Give me the phone," Lyle demanded, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Grace clutched her phone tightly, unsure what to do.
Lyle stepped closer, snatching the phone from her hand.
"Password," he said coldly, frowning.
His intense presence overwhelmed Grace, and she nervously entered the password.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to take your picture." Grace bit her lip, feeling anxious.
Was Lyle mad? Was it because she took his picture without asking?
Lyle opened the photos she had just taken and deleted all the pictures of him and Margaret, making sure there wasn't a single one left before handing the phone back to Grace.
