Chapter 29: Lucy's Total Defeat

Margaret met William's deep gaze and smiled sweetly. "It was nothing, really."

"Margaret, come sit down and eat," Bradley said, feeling elated after reuniting with Dolly. "James, get some utensils for Margaret."

"Yes, sir." James immediately instructed.

As he spoke, Bradley moved his seat aside, signaling for Margaret to sit next to William.

"Sir, you're too kind," Margaret said with a gentle smile as she took the seat next to William.

"Margaret, we really owe you for finding Dolly," Bradley said, holding Dolly tightly and looking at Margaret with gratitude.

If it weren't for Margaret finding Dolly, he might never get to see Dolly again in his lifetime.

He had been so worried that when he met his late wife in the afterlife, he wouldn't be able to explain.

Fortunately, Dolly was back now.

"I was just lucky to run into Dolly by coincidence," Margaret said, petting Dolly.

Dolly's fur was soft and fluffy, and it felt great to touch. The vet had taken good care of her, and her previous injuries were completely healed. She looked very lively and cute.

Seeing Margaret petting her, Dolly wagged her tail, looking very affectionate.

Bradley stroked his beard and beamed. "I can tell that Dolly really likes you."

Lucy, seeing Bradley being so affectionate towards Margaret, felt a burning jealousy inside but couldn't show it.

First, her gift had been overshadowed, then Margaret had mocked her for wearing a knockoff, and now Margaret had even found Bradley's beloved dog, making him so happy.

In front of Bradley, Lucy was utterly defeated!

"Eat up, don't let yourself go hungry," Bradley said kindly to Margaret.

Margaret nodded and was about to eat when a peeled shrimp was placed in her bowl.

Surprised, Margaret looked up to see the man beside her elegantly holding a fork, his tone deep. "I don't like shrimp."

William had peeled the shrimp for her?

Margaret was stunned, finding it hard to believe.

A man as high and mighty as William, peeling shrimp for someone else?

Then she thought, maybe it was to thank her for helping Bradley find Dolly?

Margaret smiled faintly. "Thank you."

Lucy, on the side, nearly ground her teeth to dust.

William didn't like shrimp?

He clearly loved it just now!

She had humbled herself to peel shrimp for William, only to be rejected, and now William was peeling shrimp for Margaret!

Lucy was utterly defeated!

Lucy had never felt so humiliated before. Her fingers dug into her flesh as she seethed with anger.

Margaret, that bitch—Lucy vowed she would get her revenge!

After dinner, Bradley went for a nap, William went to the office, and Margaret went out shopping.

She had an appointment with Samuel in the evening, and her clothes had gotten dirty and wrinkled when she picked up Dolly from the vet, making them unsuitable to wear.

Margaret arrived at the most upscale RD luxury boutique in Ravenford. If she remembered correctly, RD had just signed a contract with Loe Studio, so this season's Sofia collection would be sold at the RD boutique.

As soon as she walked in, Margaret saw the Sofia dress she had designed, displayed in the most prominent position in the window.

Margaret suddenly wanted to try it on.

What would it be like to wear the clothes she had designed herself?

"Miss, could you please help me try on this dress?" Margaret asked a nearby sales associate.

The sales associate looked Margaret up and down, noticing her wrinkled clothes with a black stain, and a look of disdain flashed across her face.

RD's customers were all prominent socialites and wealthy ladies of Ravenford, and Margaret, having just arrived in Ravenford and being very low-key, was unfamiliar to the sales associate.

The sales associate assumed she must be some poor person from who knows where.

Clearing her throat, the sales associate said, "I'm sorry, this dress was designed by Loe and is our store's treasure. It's very expensive, and we have a strict policy—it's not available for trying on unless it's being purchased."

Margaret frowned.

So she was being looked down upon?

This sales associate thought she couldn't she afford it?

Not only could she buy the dress, but she could also buy the entire store with ease.

This sales associate was really too arrogant.

"Can't try it on without buying, huh?" Margaret pulled out a black card from her bag and slapped it on the counter, saying dominantly, "Then I'll buy it!"

Sales associates in luxury stores were accustomed to serving the wealthy and naturally recognized this globally limited edition VIP card, which allowed unlimited spending. It was said that only people of extremely high status had it.

With a suspicious look, the sales associate took a closer look at Margaret. Although her clothes were wrinkled and dirty, they were clearly well-made and of high-quality fabric.

Moreover, Margaret was beautiful, pure, and stunning.

Could she be a low-key rich girl or a wealthy man's mistress?

Either way, she was not someone to offend.

The sales associate's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly and carefully took the dress from the window, handing it to Margaret, "Miss, the fitting room is over there."

Margaret snorted coldly and took the dress, heading to the fitting room.

She had to admit, her studio's clothes were top-notch.

The design, craftsmanship, and fabric were all excellent.

It was clear that Juniper had put a lot of effort into it.

The dress fit Margaret perfectly, as if it were custom-made for her. Satisfied, Margaret walked out of the fitting room.

As soon as she stepped out, she heard a familiar female voice saying with a hint of arrogance, "Get me the Sofia dress from Loe Studio."

It was Lucy.

And the young woman beside Lucy was her sidekick, Grace.

At the last party, Grace and Lucy had tried to frame Margaret for stealing.

Lucy was a regular at RD and a VIP customer, so the sales associate immediately greeted her warmly, "Miss Clark, please come in!"

Lucy repeated, "Get me the Sofia dress from Loe Studio."

The sales associate looked troubled, "I'm sorry, Miss Clark, someone just bought that dress."

"Someone bought it?" Lucy was stunned, "Who?"

Earlier at the Fisher family estate, she had been mocked by that country bumpkin Margaret for wearing a knockoff, causing her to be embarrassed in front of Bradley and William.

So Lucy had rushed to the RD boutique, determined to get the Sofia dress!

But now, someone had bought it?

Lucy wanted to see who had the nerve to compete with her, the Clark family's eldest daughter, for a dress.

The sales associate looked towards the fitting room and saw Margaret walking out in the dress, then pointed at her, "That lady over there."
