Chapter 478 Unable to Forget You

Zane had dressed up especially to meet Margaret today. As he approached the CEO's office, he wore a broad smile and pushed the door open without hesitation. Margaret looked up at him, her expression unchanged.

Zane, on the other hand, greeted her enthusiastically, "Hey Margaret, remember me?"

He had found out Margaret's name, her address in Ravenford, and her company location from Michelle, and decided to come over directly.

Margaret gave a polite smile. She had no particular feelings for Zane and was unsure why he was here today.

A foreign royal wouldn't have any business dealings in Solstice, after all.

Margaret replied, "Of course I remember. What brings you here? Is there something you need?"

Zane's smile grew wider, his eyes bright with excitement, his face showing a hint of pride, almost like a child waiting for praise.

Zane asked, "Do you like the necklace I gave you?"

Margaret's eyes widened in surprise, instantly recalling the expensive handmade necklace she received yesterday. She initially thought it was a surprise gift from William, but it turned out to be from Zane.

She hesitated for a moment, then shook her head. "Thank you, but I don't really need such an expensive gift. I'm sorry."

Margaret walked back to her desk, opened a drawer, and took out the jewelry box.

Margaret said, "You should take it back."

Zane's eyes filled with sincerity as he saw the jewelry box. He quickly asked, "Why? Don't you like the gift? I can get you something else. I thought this necklace looked beautiful and suited you well. Please keep it."

By this time, several colleagues had gathered outside the CEO's office, peeking through the glass to see what was happening. Some were whispering among themselves.

Wasn't Margaret supposed to be engaged to William? Who was this guy from Fleurancia? He seemed really into her.

Margaret shook her head and said, "No, what I mean is I really don't need it. I'm sorry, I need to take a call."

She heard the phone ringing and briefly spoke to Zane. Seeing it was William calling, she pursed her lips, deciding to answer in front of Zane to make him understand.

"William, what's up?" Margaret asked.

William's car had just arrived outside Starlight Entertainment. Sitting inside, he spoke with a smile, "I finished work early today. How about we go shopping together?"

"I have a guest here. Maybe later," Margaret replied.

Zane didn't know who William was, but he could tell Margaret's demeanor had changed. Being a young man full of vigor, he couldn't hold back his emotions and said directly, "Margaret, ever since I saw you at Michelle's party, I haven't been able to forget you. You're really beautiful, and your dancing was amazing. I really like you and hope we can be together. I'll always treat you well!"

Zane's words were loud enough for the employees outside to hear, and they exchanged surprised and gossiping glances.

Even William heard it clearly.

William's expression darkened visibly, his eyes showing a hint of anger. He tightened his grip on the phone, "Who's there with you? Zane? The guy from Fleurancia I met when I picked you up last time?"

Margaret was startled, her eyes showing clear irritation. She could tell William's tone was off, and she didn't feel like dealing with Zane anymore. William's jealousy was the most troublesome.

She glanced at William, still holding the phone, and quickly walked out, "I'll talk to you when I get downstairs. Are you outside?"

William gripped the steering wheel, taking a moment before responding.

Margaret hurried out of the office, briefly glancing at her colleagues before quickly leaving. The employees looked awkward, feeling caught in the act, and before they could say anything, they saw Zane running out of the office after her.

A few exchanged puzzled looks.

What's going on?

Margaret rushed out of the building and immediately spotted William's car. She ran over, opened the door, and sat in the passenger seat, speaking quickly, "I don't know how Zane found me here, and the necklace yesterday was from him... Let's go to your company first. He's chasing after me."

William didn't have time to ask questions. Hearing Margaret's hurried explanation, he didn't hesitate, hitting the gas and heading towards the Fisher Group.

A trip that usually took half an hour was done in twenty minutes. William got out of the car and quickly led Margaret into the building, straight to the elevator, ignoring the curious looks from others.

Once the office door closed, Margaret finally breathed a sigh of relief.

She looked at William helplessly and spoke before he could ask, "It was the guy who invited me to dance at Michelle's party. The necklace yesterday was from him. He said he wants to be with me. I don't know how he found Starlight Entertainment. When I came out to find you, he chased after me. I had no choice but to come here first. We can eat later."

William's lips tightened, his hands on his hips, his expression darkening. He didn't blame Margaret, but he felt a pang of jealousy.

He looked at Margaret, a thought forming in his mind, and spoke without hesitation, "Let's get our marriage license tomorrow. I don't want other men to covet you anymore."

Margaret swore this was the calmest William had ever been.

But she found his suggestion a bit impulsive and reminded him, "We're getting engaged in a few days. Isn't this a bit sudden, Mr. Fisher?"

William paused, then quickly changed his mind, "You're right. Let's get the marriage license right after the engagement ceremony. I really don't want other men to pursue you."

Margaret couldn't help but smile. Sometimes she found William's possessiveness annoying, but other times, it was endearingly childish.
