Chapter 179 Margaret is in Danger

The girl in the seat looked up and said softly, "William?"

Turned out, it was Marjorie, not Margaret.

William's eyes showed his disappointment. "Marjorie, why you? What are you doing here so late?"

Angel stood up, smiling. "William, I just joined the Fisher Group and don't know much yet. Gotta work hard to learn. Don't want people talking or making you look bad."

"It's late, go home and get some rest," William said, glancing at Angel indifferently.

Angel lowered her eyes. "What about you? Why aren't you going back? You thought I was Ms. Scott just now. Still thinking about her?"

"No, it's just that this is Margaret's seat, so I thought it was her," William said calmly, his handsome face showing no emotion.

"I see." Angel took a sip from her cup. "I saw online that she is living with Lyle. William, you should stop thinking about her."

William's eyebrows furrowed. "Marjorie, I'll take you home."

Seeing William dodge the topic, Angel wisely kept quiet. She needed to keep tarnishing Margaret's image in front of William, making him dislike her. She thought, 'One day, William will fall for me. After all, I'm the one he's been looking for all along.'

William drove in silence. Angel sneaked a glance at him, seeing William gripping the steering wheel tightly, his facial lines tense, his eyebrows furrowed, his lips pressed together, and his handsome face showing a hint of aloofness. She wondered what he was thinking.

"William, it's just up ahead." Angel pointed to her place.

It was an old neighborhood, and the surroundings were pretty rundown.

"Marjorie, I'll have someone find you a new place tomorrow," William stopped the car and said with a frown.

Hearing this, Angel was instantly delighted. It seemed that William still cared about her, at least he was concerned.

Angel hid her emotions and obediently said, "No need, William, I'm fine living here."

William said nothing more, just opened the car door and got out.

The streetlight cast a glow on him, making him look noble, elegant, and incredibly attractive. Looking at the outstanding man in front of her, Angel's eyes showed a hint of infatuation.

"William, come up and sit for a while," Angel bit her lip and invited him.

"No, it's late. You should rest early," William said expressionlessly.

Rejected by William, Angel's fingers clenched tightly at her sides, but her face still wore a bright smile. "Okay, William, you should rest early too. Thanks for driving me home. Good night."

Watching Angel walk up the stairs, William returned to his car, turned it around, and left. He didn't go back to Water Moon Estate but headed to East Garden.

The photos in the entertainment magazines were taken at East Garden. And William knew that Lyle had once bought an apartment here, on the eighteenth floor.

He parked the car downstairs and looked up at the windows on the eighteenth floor. Lyle's apartment lights were on.

'Margaret should be inside right now, right?' he thought.

William sat in the car, feeling restless, and lit a cigarette. His handsome face looked particularly stern in the swirling smoke. Ten minutes later, he stubbed out the cigarette forcefully, opened the car door, and strode to the elevator, heading straight to the eighteenth floor.

He rang the doorbell, and it was Lyle who opened the door. The moment he saw Lyle, William's face darkened. 'So, Margaret is indeed living with Lyle?'

"William, what are you doing here?" Lyle frowned at the unexpected visitor.

William spoke seriously, "Is the online report true? Are you living with Margaret?"

"That's none of your business," Lyle snorted coldly.

William grabbed Lyle's shirt. "Where's Margaret? Let her come out and see me!"

He wanted her to tell him the answer herself!

The atmosphere grew tense.

Lyle met William's angry gaze and coldly said, "William, what right do you have to see her? You already have Marjorie, so why are you still bothering Margaret? Don't forget, your engagement with Margaret has been canceled. Even if everything online is true, what does it matter? It's none of your business."

In response, William punched him directly. Lyle staggered, and William took the opportunity to push past him and enter the apartment.

"Margaret, come out!" William searched with a stern face but didn't see Margaret.

Lyle wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and looked at William coldly. "Mr. Fisher, breaking into a private residence, do you want me to call the cops?"

William's expression was very serious as he asked again, "Where's Margaret?"

"She's not here." Lyle unceremoniously ordered him to leave. "William, get out!"

Not finding Margaret, William left angrily. But when he calmed down, he tried to persuade himself that if Margaret wasn't there, did that mean they weren't actually living together?

Early the next morning, Juniper, worried about Margaret, got up before dawn.

"Juniper, so early." Stella yawned and walked towards the kitchen. "I'll make breakfast. You can sleep a bit more; it's still very early."

"I'm not sleeping anymore." Juniper shook her head, opened the door, and a flurry of snow blew in.

"It snowed heavily last night," Juniper looked towards the mountains, worriedly saying, "I wonder if Margaret found Pryce."

If everything went smoothly, Margaret should be back today, but with such heavy snow, Juniper was very worried.

Stella was about to speak when a few men hurried over, looking tense. "Something's wrong, there's been an avalanche in the mountains!"

"What?" Juniper immediately became nervous and instinctively asked, "An avalanche?"

"Yes! Stella, does anyone from your family go into the mountains?" one of the men asked as they were notifying each household.

"My friend went into the mountains yesterday afternoon!" Juniper's voice trembled with tension. "She was heading towards Crystal Peak."

"This is bad." The men looked at each other; the avalanche had occurred in that area.

Juniper's heart was tightly gripped with worry. Margaret was in danger!
