Chapter 360 They Escaped
"You guys are kidnapping us, it's illegal! Let us go now! Otherwise, my grandpa will bring the cop and arrest all of you!" William unconsciously straightened his back and chest, trying hard not to look at the dog.
Unexpectedly, the men laughed even more arrogantly after hearing this. William was just a cowardly kid to them, so they took what he said as a joke.
"Do you know where you are? Who are you trying to scare? No one can help you here! You two better behave, or else!" Leon's smile suddenly disappeared, and he lowered his voice to threaten them viciously, the scar on his face twitching with his words.
The little girl hid behind William, showing half of her face, her hands tightly clutching William's clothes, looking very scared.
The big dog panted heavily and suddenly barked fiercely.
William's shoulders involuntarily twitched, but he still stiffened his neck, trying to appear unafraid.
He had been bitten by a dog when he was little, leaving a lasting fear.
The little girl hesitated for a moment, pursed her lips, and slowly let go of her hand. She knew the boy might be afraid of dogs.
However, Leon noticed all of this. He immediately grasped William's weakness and deliberately petted the big dog.
"My dog grew up eating raw meat. You two kids better behave, or if it gets hungry and wants to eat you, I won't be responsible." The big dog seemed to understand Leon's words and barked twice more, fiercely.
Leon showed a sinister smile and, as if on purpose, slowly loosened the leash on the big dog.
William nervously closed his eyes.
At the moment the big dog barked and charged at them, William instinctively shut his eyes tightly. The next second, he heard the little girl's voice. "Don't bite him!"
William opened his eyes and saw the little girl extending her arms to shield him, fearlessly confronting the big dog.
Angel, who had been worried the big dog would bite William, calmed down when she saw the little girl protecting him.
Leon snorted, waved the big dog back, and said, "Since you two are scared, remember my words and behave!"
After saying that, they turned and left the room. After Leon and the others left, Angel began to observe the small dark room again.
"Thank you just now." William breathed a sigh of relief and looked at the little girl with gratitude, softly thanking her.
"It's okay. You protected me just now too. Don't worry, I won't let the dog bite you in the future." The little girl looked at him, her childish voice sounding, and she gave William a sweet smile.
William looked at her seriously, suddenly making a firm decision, and said sincerely to the little girl, "You are so good to me. If we manage to get home, I will marry you when I grow up, I promise!"
After saying that, the two kids hooked their pinkies, looking very serious.
Outside the door, Angel saw this scene and clenched her fists in jealousy, glaring at the little girl opposite William, and she thought that handsome boy could only be hers in the future.
Since then, Angel would sneak to the cabin almost every day to secretly bring food to William and the little girl. Although she was often with her stepmother, that woman didn't care what she did.
Angel was always waiting for a chance to let William go.
As long as she could let that boy go, he would remember her.
Finally, one day, Leon and his men didn't come to the cabin. After lunch, Angel's dad lay on the bed in the main room and soon fell asleep, and her stepmother was nowhere to be found.
Angel heard her dad's snoring.
She sneaked into the main room and saw her dad lying on his side on the bed, with the key to the small dark room sticking out of his pocket.
Angel carefully approached her dad, took the key from his pocket, and seeing he didn't wake up, quickly ran to the small dark room. She turned the key in the lock and opened the door.
William heard the noise and turned his head sharply, looking at Angel with a guarded expression. "Who are you?"
"I'm here to save you. My dad is sleeping inside, and those men didn't come today. You need to leave quickly!" As she spoke, she tentatively picked up an empty wine bottle from the cabinet and smashed it on the ground with a loud crash.
The little girl was startled, looking at Angel in confusion and fear.
Angel just picked up a piece of broken glass, trying to cut the rope binding William's wrists.
The process was slow, and just as the rope was about to be cut, Angel's dad's furious voice came from the doorway.
"What are you doing!" Angel's dad had been sleeping soundly in the inner room when he was suddenly awakened by the sound of something breaking. He instinctively reached for the pocket with the key, finding it missed.
Angel was also startled. She turned her head and, seeing her dad, panicked, stuttering, "Dad, I, I was just..."
Before she could finish, her dad stormed over and slapped her hard. "I didn't raise you all these years to cause trouble!"
Angel fell to the ground, a red handprint appearing on her face. She landed near the broken glass.
Her wrist throbbed with pain, slowly oozing blood. Angel frowned in pain, feeling extremely wronged, and couldn't help but cry.
Under her wrist, a sharp piece of glass was stained with blood.
"Get out and cry somewhere else!" Angel's dad shouted in disgust, ignoring her injured hand.
Angel only remembered that after that day, she never saw William and the little girl again, and her dad and stepmother became more and more wary of her.
"Someone! Come quickly! Those two kids have escaped!" That night, Angel was sleeping soundly when she suddenly heard Leon's furious voice from the main room.
Then there was a commotion, and she heard her dad and stepmother cursing. "Find them! Hurry up! Damn it! A foolproof plan has gone wrong."
Angel ran to the main room and saw the adults rushing out to find the two kids, furious.
Angel's heart tightened
