Chapter 32 The Angry William

When Margaret finished her song, thunderous applause filled the bar. Some people in the crowd even started chanting. "Encore! Encore!"

Margaret smiled politely, turned around, and stepped off the stage, returning to the private room.

"Your singing was amazing, truly heavenly! Way better than the bar's regular performers!" Samuel praised Margaret enthusiastically.

Margaret gave a faint smile. "You're just flattering me. I'm going to the restroom."

Maybe it was the wine she drank too quickly, but Margaret felt a bit uncomfortable in her stomach.

Just as she reached the restroom door, a middle-aged man in a suit blocked her path. "Are you the new singer here?"

Margaret looked up at him. He was a man with a beer belly, wearing a brand-name suit that didn't fit him at all. His overall appearance screamed of an uncultured upstart.

Margaret shook her head expressionlessly. "No."

The man grabbed Margaret's hand and stuffed a wad of cash into it, his gaze lecherous. "You're a pretty little thing, aren't you? Spend one night with me, and this money is yours."

When Margaret was singing on stage earlier, this man had already developed lustful thoughts.

He couldn't believe his luck running into Margaret at the restroom door. He swallowed hard, staring straight at her chest, his mind filled with filthy thoughts.

Margaret frowned, took a few steps back, and threw the wad of cash at the man, saying sternly, "Get out of my way!"

"What an arrogant woman!" The man's face changed when Margaret refused. "You're just a bar singer, flaunting yourself to seduce men. You should feel lucky that I even noticed you!"

Fuck!

What a disgusting man and so full of himself!

Margaret took a few steps back and sternly warned. "If you don't leave, I won't let you go easily!"

But the man had no intention of backing down. With a lecherous grin, he grabbed her shoulders and tried to pull her into his arms. "Don't be shy. Let me kiss you. If you behave and please me, I'll give you lots of money."

Margaret felt a wave of nausea and was about to throw the man over her shoulder when a familiar, cold voice cut through the air. "Let her go!"

The next second, the man holding her screamed in pain as he was forcefully thrown to the ground.

At the same time, William's tall and imposing figure appeared in front of Margaret. He stepped on the thug, his handsome face as cold as ice.

Margaret was stunned.

William? What was he doing here?

"Who are you?" The middle-aged man, his lust interrupted and now furious, shouted, "Do you have any idea who you're messing with? How dare you ruin my fun! Do you really think I won't make you regret this?"

Before he could say anymore, the man's face drained of color as he suddenly recognized William. His bravado crumbled, and he quickly switched to begging for mercy. "Mr. Fisher, I didn't know it was you. Please forgive me. Are you interested in her, too? I'll let you have her!"

William's icy gaze swept over, and the temperature around seemed to drop instantly.

He said coldly, "Get lost!"

"Okay, okay, I'm leaving!" The thug scrambled away.

Margaret looked at the cold-faced William in front of her, slightly stunned, and said, "Thank you."

No matter what, William had just saved her, even though she didn't need his help.

William's face remained icy, like a storm was about to break.

The overwhelming pressure made Margaret take a step back. "William, my friend is waiting for me. I need to go."

She turned to leave, but suddenly a strong force grabbed her waist. William's large hand pulled her into the men's restroom.

"William, what are you doing!" Margaret was caught off guard as William pulled her in. Luckily, no one else was inside.

William locked the door behind him, pressing Margaret against it, his arms caging her in.

"Margaret, do you know your place?" William's eyes narrowed, his cold gaze like a sharp blade piercing through Margaret.

"What's wrong with you? Let me go! My friend is waiting!" Margaret struggled but couldn't break free, finding the man in front of her inexplicable.

"Samuel?" William's face grew even colder, his handsome features burning with anger. "Margaret, listen carefully. You are my fiancée!"

William had been furious when he saw Margaret singing to Samuel on stage. Seeing her being harassed by that thug at the restroom door only fueled his anger.

"So what?" Margaret felt William's anger but didn't understand why he was so mad.

She didn't think she had done anything to offend him.

"My fiancée should behave herself, not..." William paused, his hands gripping Margaret's shoulders, his angry gaze fixed on her beautiful face. "Not flirt with other men!"

What?

When did she flirt with other men?

Margaret's body stiffened, and she retorted, "What makes you think that? Did you see me flirting with other men?"

"I saw it with my own eyes!" William's brows furrowed, and his grip on her shoulders tightened.

During the scuffle, he noticed a Loe logo on Margaret's dress.

A Loe dress was very expensive, it must have been a gift from Samuel.

If there was nothing between Samuel and Margaret, why would he give her such an expensive dress?

"William, that's enough!" Margaret said coldly.

Being inexplicably called a slut made Margaret furious.

William was simply unreasonable!

Being looked at with such eyes, Margaret's temper flared. She raised her voice. "Don't forget, we're just in a contractual relationship. In three months, we'll have nothing to do with each other. So even if I flirt with other men, why should it matter to you?"

"Margaret, are you that cheap?" William was completely enraged. His cold eyes fixed on Margaret's lips, and almost without thinking, he kissed her.

The heat from his lips made Margaret's body tremble. Her mind went blank for a few seconds before she realized what was happening.

William, this bastard!

How dare he take advantage of her and kiss her?

This was her first kiss!!
