Chapter 283 Daisy's Visit
Margaret was lazily leaning on the couch when William's handsome face suddenly came down close.
Facing his intense gaze, Margaret backed away. "What are you doing?"
Before she could finish her sentence, William's sexy thin lips sealed hers directly.
As their lips met, Margaret's breath paused for a few seconds, and she instinctively moaned.
William couldn't help but deepen the kiss.
His domineering yet gentle kiss was so intense that it left Margaret no room to breathe.
No one knew how long it lasted before William finally ended the passionate kiss, still savoring it.
He lowered his head, pressing his forehead against hers, his deep eyes staring at her intently. "Margaret, promise me, come back to me, okay?"
"I..." Margaret was still catching her breath from the kiss.
Just then, William's phone rang abruptly.
The pleasant ringtone shattered the intimate atmosphere.
Margaret came to her senses and pushed William away. "Your phone."
William picked up his phone and saw it was Peter calling.
'Shit!' William cursed inwardly.
William frowned and answered the call, his tone icy. "Peter, what is it?"
"Mr. Fisher, there's a high-level meeting at the company today. You need to come to the office," Peter said nervously on the other end.
Hearing William's displeased tone, Peter knew he had called at a bad time.
"Not going," William said flatly.
Margaret was still sick; he couldn't leave.
"But..." Peter wanted to say more, but William hung up.
"Is there something at the company?" Margaret asked.
"Nothing important." William turned his head, giving Margaret a sidelong glance. "You haven't answered my question yet."
Margaret averted her gaze, yawning to change the subject. "I'm tired. I need to rest. You should go to the meeting. As for your question, I haven't decided yet."
William's eyes dimmed a bit, and he suddenly pulled Margaret into his arms. "Are you sure you want me to leave?"
"Of course, don't disturb my rest." Margaret quickly pushed him away, escaping his embrace. She yawned deliberately and stood up, planning to go back to her room to rest.
Behind her, William's deep, hoarse voice came. "Margaret, don't make me wait too long."
Margaret paused for a moment, pretending not to hear, and quickly went upstairs.
Back in her room, lying on the comfortable bed, Margaret soon fell asleep.
She had a dream.
In the dream, she seemed to return to her childhood.
Her parents took her to the park, bought her ice cream, took her boating, and the family of three had a great time.
But she couldn't see her parents' faces clearly.
"Mom, don't move, let me see your face," Margaret pleaded, holding her mother's hand.
But her mother kept avoiding her gaze.
Suddenly, Margaret fell from the boat into the cold lake water.
It was so cold.
Margaret vaguely heard a voice and felt a bucket of ice water drench her, waking her up shivering.
Opening her eyes, Margaret saw Daisy and Abigail standing by her bed, their faces full of arrogant anger.
"Margaret, how can you be so shameless, doing such disgraceful things? Being with Lyle while still clinging to William, you shameless bitch, and now you're sleeping here so peacefully!" Abigail, holding a bucket, pointed at Margaret's nose and cursed.
"Margaret, pack your things and get out. You've already broken off the engagement with William, and you're still hanging around? The Fisher Family will never let a promiscuous woman like you marry in; it would damage the Fisher Family's reputation!" Daisy was also full of anger.
As she spoke, Abigail had already pulled out Margaret's clothes and stuffed them into her suitcase haphazardly.
'Are they trying to kick me out while William wasn't home?' Margaret's eyes turned cold as she looked indifferently at the two arrogant women, speaking calmly, "Did you pour the water on me?"
They thought she would either leave in shame or argue with them, but she just said such a nonchalant sentence.
Abigail and Daisy were stunned, exchanging glances.
"So what if I did? What can you do about it? I'm venting for William. Who told you to be so shameless, seducing two men at once!" Abigail said as she opened her phone and showed today's news headline, "Look at what you've done!"
Margaret glanced at it indifferently.
The photo showed her and Lyle in the lounge last night, standing very close, both soaking wet.
The caption was even more suggestive.
Margaret frowned slightly.
No wonder Daisy and Abigail came to scold her early in the morning.
Margaret's lips curled into a mocking smile. She got up from the bed, grabbed Abigail's wrist without a word, and forcefully dragged her towards the bathroom.
"What are you doing!" Abigail, unprepared, tried to break free but was firmly held by Margaret.
"Help!" Abigail shouted.
She didn't know what Margaret intended to do, and she couldn't break free. She didn't understand why Margaret was so strong.
Margaret had been sick for days, and Abigail had specifically instigated Daisy to come and cause trouble while Margaret was weak.
Margaret ignored Abigail's struggles and screams, pushed her into the shower, and turned on the cold water.
The icy water drenched Abigail from head to toe.
Abigail screamed, her face pale, trying to escape the shower, but Margaret blocked her way, trapping her.
"Help me! This woman is trying to kill me!" Abigail could only shout, asking Daisy for help.
"Margaret, let go of Abigail!" Daisy didn't dare to come closer, shouting from outside the bathroom.
Margaret sneered. "Abigail, you poured water on me earlier. Now I'm just returning the favor. Enjoy the cold shower!"
Watching the soaking wet, struggling Abigail, Margaret's lips curved into a smile.
