Chapter 483 Xavier Returns to the Country

At this moment, Xavier was on the plane, thinking about how Margaret had been doing lately and whether William had been taking good care of her.

Outside the airport, William parked the car and walked into the terminal with Margaret.

"The flight's gonna land in about ten minutes," William said, glancing at the airport's digital display. "You wanna sit down and chill for a bit? Grandpa won't be off the plane for a while."

William knew Margaret had been too excited to sleep last night, so he thoughtfully suggested she take a break.

Margaret, eager to see Xavier, couldn't wait another moment. Her eyes were fixed on the exit. "No way, I wanna see Grandpa as soon as he gets off the plane. It might even land early."

For the next ten minutes, Margaret kept her eyes glued to the exit, waiting for Xavier to appear.

"The flight from Seaside City to Sovereign City has landed. Passengers, please disembark in an orderly manner," the airport's PA system announced in a mechanical female voice. Margaret's eyes lit up, and she took a couple of hurried steps forward.

As soon as Xavier emerged, he saw Margaret waving at him. "My dear granddaughter."

Margaret quickly stepped forward and took his suitcase. "Grandpa, was the flight tiring? How was your trip around the world?"

"It was fantastic. The scenery abroad is unique and beautiful," Xavier said with a warm smile. "When you two get married, you should travel for your honeymoon."

"Grandpa," Margaret said, blushing slightly at the mention of marriage.

William greeted Xavier politely, "Grandpa," and took the suitcase from Margaret's hands. "Let me carry that for you."

Seeing how well William treated Margaret, Xavier's smile grew even wider.

"I'm more and more pleased with William. As long as he treats our Margaret well, that's all that matters," Xavier said earnestly. At his age, he believed the greatest happiness was for Margaret to find someone who truly cared for her.

"Of course, I'll make Margaret the happiest woman in the world," William said, his eyes deep and his tone sincere.

"Good, good!" Xavier nodded repeatedly, his eyes full of approval for William.

Xavier continued to praise William, making Margaret a little jealous. She clung to Xavier's arm and pouted, "Grandpa, who do you love more, me or him?"

No matter how old Margaret got or how capable she was outside, at home, she was always a little girl who loved to be pampered by her grandpa.

"Are you jealous?" Xavier teased, gently patting Margaret's hand.

Looking at Margaret's playful demeanor, Xavier turned to William and said, "William, my granddaughter may seem mature, but she still has a child's temperament. Please take good care of her and don't let her suffer."

Understanding Xavier's concern, William nodded seriously and said, "Don't worry, Grandpa. I'll take good care of Margaret and make sure she never feels wronged."

He wrapped his arm around Margaret's shoulders and smiled gently.

"By the way, Grandpa, my grandpa has prepared a family dinner at the Fisher Manor to welcome you. Let's head there now," William said, placing the suitcase in the trunk.

Bradley had been thrilled to hear that Xavier was coming to Ravenford for Margaret and William's engagement party and had been eagerly awaiting his arrival.

Xavier nodded and said, "Great, I haven't seen your grandpa in a long time. How's he doing?"

Since his world tour, Xavier hadn't had a chance to catch up with Bradley.

"He's doing well, still in good health, though he wishes he could travel like you," William chuckled. "He was pretty envious when he heard about your trip."

However, due to Bradley's heart condition, he couldn't travel by plane, so his trips had been postponed.

Margaret sat in the backseat with Xavier, feeling relieved to see William and Xavier getting along so well. The two most important men in her life were bonding.

As they approached the Fisher Manor, Xavier spotted Bradley waiting at the entrance from a distance.

"Grandpa's already waiting at the door," William said softly. "He must've been waiting for a while."

The two old friends, who hadn't seen each other in ages, were eagerly anticipating this reunion.

As soon as the car stopped, Bradley came forward with a smile. "Xavier, you're finally back. That world tour of yours took quite a while."

Bradley extended his hand and shook Xavier's firmly. "It's been too long."

"Indeed, it has. I brought some gifts from abroad for you," Xavier said, gesturing for Margaret to bring the gifts. "There are also some small presents for your family."

After exchanging pleasantries, the two elderly men walked into the living room side by side.

Bradley glanced back at Margaret and William, who were looking at each other sweetly, and smiled with satisfaction. "Look at these two, so happy together. We can finally be at ease."

"Yes, Margaret and William are getting engaged soon. We'll be one big family," Xavier agreed with a smile. "William is a great kid and treats Margaret very well."

Hearing the elders' teasing, Margaret felt a bit shy. She lowered her head and affectionately linked her arm with William's.

Seeing this, Bradley's smile grew even brighter. "It would be wonderful if, after the engagement, Margaret could quickly have a child. We'd love to experience the joy of four generations under one roof."

Both elders, now in their later years, longed to hold a grandchild and enjoy family life.

Xavier gently patted Margaret's shoulder. "Margaret, did you hear that? You have an important task ahead."

He smiled at Margaret and encouraged William to hurry up and give them a grandchild. "William, your grandpa, and I are waiting. Hurry up and have a baby so we can be grandpas."

Such straightforward talk about having children made Margaret blush and lower her head.

"Grandpas, Margaret is getting embarrassed. She's shy, so please don't tease her," William said, holding Margaret's hand tightly to defend her. "Grandpa, let's head to the dining room."

Seeing William protect Margaret so well, Xavier's face lit up with a pleased smile.

The family walked into the dining room, enjoying their time together, when suddenly there was a knock at the door.

"Who's here?" Margaret asked William curiously. "Did Grandpa invite someone else today?"
