Chapter 141 Now I'll Tell You the Answer

"What? The plane's outta control? How the heck did this happen? How could it just lose control like that?" Margaret's heart was pounding like crazy, and she was freaking out big time.

William, looking all cool and collected, patted her shoulder and stood up. "I'll go check it out."

With that, he made his way to the cockpit.

"I'm coming with you," Margaret said, her face white as a sheet. The turbulent shaking of the plane only exacerbated her fear of heights, making her stomach churn with anxiety.

"Alright," William replied calmly, pulling her close. "It's gonna be okay, don't worry."

The plane kept shaking like mad, and every step Margaret took felt like walking through quicksand. The panic was getting worse. Luckily, William held her tight, making her feel a bit safer.

They got to the cockpit in no time.

"What’s going on?" William asked, frowning at the captain.

The captain was sweating bullets, his hands all over the controls, looking like he'd seen a ghost. "I can't control it anymore. We're gonna crash!"

Margaret's breath hitched. If the plane went down, everyone on board was toast.

She tried to stay calm, but the fear was eating her alive. She looked desperately at William. "What do we do?"

"Don't worry," William squeezed her hand. "We'll be fine."

He turned to the captain and said, "Stay calm, try to stabilize the plane. Start descending now, and once we hit a good altitude, we'll jump."

The captain nodded, his voice shaky. "I'll do my best."

William's plane was tricked out with parachutes for emergencies. In case of trouble, they could bail out safely.

William told the other crew members to get the parachutes ready for a quick jump.

"William, do we really have to jump?" Margaret leaned into him, looking scared out of her mind. She'd been scared of heights forever, and now she was petrified.

"Margaret, listen to me. The plane's out of control. Jumping is our only shot," William said seriously.

"But I'm scared. I'm terrified of heights," Margaret whispered.

"Don't be scared, I'll protect you," William said softly, his eyes full of determination.

"We're ready," William said after a while, checking the instruments. The plane's altitude and speed were good for jumping.

At this moment, the shaking got even worse. The plane wasn't gonna hold much longer; it was about to crash and blow up!

"Jump now!" The cabin door opened, and William, still calm and composed, directed the crew to put on their parachutes and jump one by one. Soon, it was just the captain, William, and Margaret left on the plane.

"Mr. Fisher, Ms. Scott, you gotta jump now!" The captain wiped the sweat off his forehead and set the plane's parameters.

William frowned and pulled the captain over. "You first. Go, now!"

The captain gave William a deep look, eyes full of gratitude. "Mr. Fisher, Ms. Scott, take care."

With that, the captain jumped, quickly disappearing from Margaret's sight.

"Margaret, get ready," William said, strapping the parachute to both of them and holding her tight.

"William, I'm freaking out." Looking down from that height, Margaret's mind went blank. The fear was paralyzing.

"Close your eyes. I'll count to three, and we'll jump together," William whispered in her ear.

Margaret took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and clung to William as they leaped into the vast sea of clouds.

The weightlessness hit hard, and they plummeted fast. Margaret screamed.

"Margaret, hang on a bit longer. We'll open the chute soon." With William's calming voice, the parachute opened.

The weightlessness finally eased, and Margaret let out a long breath.

"It's okay now." William's deep, hoarse voice sounded in her ear.

Margaret opened her eyes to see the vast sea of clouds around them. They were like a tiny boat in a cloud ocean, at risk of sinking any moment.

She whispered, "William, are we gonna die?"

"No." He held her tight, like she was the most precious thing in the world, so firm and protective.

"Really?" Margaret nestled in William's arms, her hands around his neck. His comfort gradually calmed her fear.

William looked down at her, his voice incredibly firm. "Trust me!"

"Okay." Margaret nodded hard.

"Still scared?" William's eyes were softer than ever.

Meeting his gaze, Margaret smiled faintly. "With you here, I'm not afraid."

They slowly descended from the sky.

Margaret leaned against William's chest, so close to him. She could hear his heartbeat clearly.

Memories flooded back, all the times William had protected her, risking his life to save her. He had always told her, "Margaret, don't be afraid. I'll protect you."

He had told her, "Margaret, I'm pursuing you. Right now, the woman I want to spend my life with is you."

She looked up at the man holding her tight.

His handsome face, fair skin, chiseled features, deep black eyes, straight nose, and sexy red lips, even in such a dangerous situation, remained calm and exuded an innate nobility, like a born king.

At this moment, an unprecedented, indescribable feeling spread through her entire body. Her heartbeat quickened.

Margaret closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, a different light shone in them.

She whispered, "William, I'm gonna tell you my answer now."
