Chapter 99 Amazed by Margaret

"Of course not!" Margaret shoved William away, her voice firm. "William, I told you last time back at your home. I'm not Marjorie, and I'm definitely not her stand-in!"

William's deep eyes flickered with a hint of defeat, almost too quick to catch. He nodded, face blank. "Go back."

Bruce had a few buddies over for drinks in a private room at Enigma Bar. Annie had trailed Bruce all the way to the bar.

"Bruce." Annie pushed open the door to the private room and walked in.

Bruce frowned slightly. "What are you doing here?"

"Why have you been dodging me these past few days?" Annie plopped down next to Bruce, looking all hurt. "You don't answer my calls, and when I go to the hotel to find you, you're never there."

"We're done," Bruce said coldly.

"No! Are you really so heartless that you want to break up with me?" Annie leaned towards Bruce, not ready to give up. "Have you forgotten the good times we had? Bruce, you said you'd love me forever. You can't be this heartless."

Bruce impatiently pushed Annie away. "Annie, I'll say it one last time: we are done!"

"Why! Bruce, why are you being so cold to me!" Annie's eyes welled up as she looked at the tall, handsome man in front of her. She couldn't accept it. Just a few days ago, they were fine, and now Bruce wanted to break up with her, treating her so coldly.

It was all Margaret's fault! If it weren't for Margaret, how could Bruce want to break up with her?

"Annie, I don't want to see you again," Bruce stood up, spoke coldly, and then walked out of the private room without looking back.

Annie chased after him, grabbing Bruce's arm. "Bruce, don't do this. Give me another chance, please. We can be as loving as we used to be."

"Enough! Stop following me!" Bruce impatiently pulled his arm away and left directly.

Annie, unable to stand steadily, fell heavily to the ground, looking extremely embarrassed.

In the distance, Lucy and Grace walked into the bar.

"Isn't that Annie?" Lucy's eyes fell on Annie.

Grace nodded. "Yeah, why does she look so miserable?"

A glint flashed in Lucy's eyes. "The more miserable, the better."

Grace seemed to understand. "Lucy, you mean..."

Lucy raised the corners of her lips. "Let's go take a look."

Annie was trying to get up awkwardly when suddenly a woman's voice sounded in front of her. "Annie, are you okay?"

Annie looked up to see Lucy standing in front of her, reaching out her hand. "Thanks, I'm fine." Annie took Lucy's hand and stood up.

Grace stepped forward, pretending to be concerned. "Annie, what happened? Why do you look so miserable?"

Thinking of Bruce's cold and heartless attitude, Annie's nose tingled, and her eyes filled with tears. "Bruce wants to break up with me."

"Why?" Lucy asked, pretending not to know.

"It's all because of Margaret Scott!" Annie said through gritted teeth. "If it weren't for her, how could Bruce want to break up with me?"

"So it's because of her again," Grace said as if she suddenly understood. "She's just a slut. Annie, this is actually easy to handle. Just let Bruce see Margaret's true colors, and he'll come back to you."

"Exactly!" Annie's eyes flashed with jealousy and malice. "Margaret, I won't let you off!"

Lucy’s lips curled into a sly grin, and she casually said, "In two days, the Fisher Group’s throwing a press conference for the 'Ice and Fire' jewelry line, and word is, Margaret’s hosting it."

Annie clenched her fists, teeth grinding. "Margaret, just wait! I’ll make Bruce see who you really are!"

Those two days flew by, and soon it was the day of the press conference. That morning, Margaret got up early. After getting ready, she headed downstairs to the living room and saw William chilling on the sofa. He was all suited up, hair perfectly styled, looking annoyingly handsome.

When William saw Margaret coming down, he looked up. "Morning."

After breakfast, Margaret hopped into William’s car but noticed they weren’t heading towards the Fisher Group. Margaret glanced out the window. "Aren’t you going to the office?"

William replied, "No."

"So, where are we going?" Margaret was curious. The press conference was in the afternoon, so where was William taking her now?

William glanced at her. "You’ll see when we get there."

Ten minutes later, William parked in front of a fancy boutique. "We’re here."

Margaret got out and looked at the golden sign: ANA. If she remembered right, ANA was a high-end styling and clothing store, a favorite among celebs and socialites.

As soon as William stepped out, the store manager rushed over, all respectful. "Mr. Fisher, please come inside."

"Let’s go," William said coolly, leading Margaret through the door.

"Miss Scott, this way, please. We’ve got everything ready." The store manager smiled, guiding Margaret.

Margaret realized William had brought her here for a makeover. Looked like he was taking today’s press conference seriously.

Margaret nodded and followed the store manager into the makeup room. When Margaret emerged, everyone was stunned. William stared at her, unable to look away.

Margaret was rocking a red cap-sleeve short dress. Her full breasts were just visible, her tanned skin incredibly alluring, and her long hair flowed over her shoulders, looking both elegant and dazzling.

"What, don’t I look good?" Margaret teased when she saw William staring.

William snapped out of it, a slight smile on his lips. "You look stunning."

At 2 PM, the "Ice and Fire" press conference kicked off right on time. The event was held in the swanky conference room on the 18th floor of the Fisher Group building. Margaret did a final check, making sure everything was set. She glanced at the clock, ten minutes to two. In ten minutes, the press conference would start.

Today’s attendees were all big shots, including the new star spokesperson Seraphina, movie star Lyle, and many heavyweights in the jewelry industry. Even the president of the Fisher Group, William, was there in person. It showed just how much the Fisher Group valued this press conference.

Reporters were in the press area, jostling for the best spots, all excitedly waiting for the event to start, not wanting to miss any scoop.

The press conference officially began at exactly 2 p.m. Under the expectant eyes of the crowd, Margaret walked onto the stage at the front of the conference hall.
