Chapter 300 Trade Yourself for Her
At the Fisher Group, William had been somewhat distracted at the office all day.
"Mr. Fisher, please sign here," Peter reminded William, holding a document.
William took the document and signed it.
Worried about Margaret, he called her, but no one answered.
He called back to Water Moon Estate, and Isolde answered the phone.
"Where's Margaret?" William asked in a deep voice.
"Ms. Scott went out," Isolde answered truthfully.
William hesitated for a moment. 'Margaret has just been discharged from the hospital yesterday and hasn't fully recovered. What is she doing out?'
"Where did she go?" William pressed.
Isolde thought for a moment and said, "She seemed to go to the hotel to find Ms. Hayes."
"Juniper didn't come today?" William frowned.
"Yes! Ms. Scott couldn't reach Ms. Hayes, so she went to find her," Isolde said, also a bit worried.
"I see," William hung up and said to Peter, "I'm going out for a bit."
"But, Mr. Fisher, you have an important meeting soon," Peter reminded him.
"Cancel it," William said coldly.
His mind was completely off work.
Peter nodded helplessly. "Yes!"
Seeing William like this, it was again related to Margaret.
Peter hesitated for a moment but still asked with concern, "Mr. Fisher, is something wrong with Ms. Scott?"
"I can't reach her," William said, standing up, putting on his suit jacket, and walking straight to the door.
Peter shook his head. It wasn't the first time William had left work because of Margaret.
William sped all the way to the hotel where Juniper was staying and went straight to the manager. "Where's Margaret?"
"Mr. Fisher, Ms. Scott did come today. She came to find Ms. Hayes, but Ms. Hayes went out and wasn't at the hotel. Later, Ms. Scott received a call from Ms. Hayes and left in a hurry," the manager answered respectfully.
"Where did she go?" William frowned.
'Margaret receives a call from Juniper? Since Juniper is fine, why doesn't she go to Water Moon Estate today? Why does Margaret rush to find Juniper?' William felt that things were not that simple.
"Ms. Scott didn't say," the manager said, not daring to breathe heavily seeing William's dark expression.
William called Margaret again, but this time her phone was off.
Margaret was missing again!
The uneasy feeling in William's heart surged up instantly, growing stronger and stronger.
This time, not only was Margaret missing, but Juniper was also missing!
It directly told him that something had happened to them.
William thought for a few seconds and immediately called Peter, saying coldly, "Check Margaret's car for me."
Peter was stunned. "What happened to Ms. Scott?"
"I can't reach her." William's handsome face was tense, his tone cold.
"Yes, Mr. Fisher, I'll check right away!" Peter's expression turned serious, finally understanding why William had been distracted today.
A few minutes later, William received a call from Peter. "Mr. Fisher, I found it. Ms. Scott's car is heading towards Glimmerpeak on the outskirts."
That place was far from the city, remote, and Glimmerpeak was even more deserted.
It was already dark now. What was Margaret doing there for no reason?
Something must have happened!
Worry flashed in William's eyes as he said in a deep voice, "Get me a hundred bodyguards, we're going to Glimmerpeak immediately!"
"Yes, Mr. Fisher!"
At Glimmerpeak, Margaret watched as Mia pointed a knife at Juniper, forcing her step by step to the edge of the cliff.
"Mia, put the knife down. Let's talk this out," Margaret took a few steps forward, trying to speak in a calm tone.
She glanced at the cliff, and an inexplicable feeling of fear suddenly rose in her heart.
The scene before her felt strangely familiar.
She had often dreamed of being chased, forced to the edge of a cliff, and falling into the abyss.
That feeling was terrifying.
But this time, it wasn't a dream.
Juniper was her best friend, especially after working together for so many years, their bond was deep and tacit. Margaret absolutely couldn't allow anything to happen to Juniper.
Especially since it was because of her that Juniper was involved!
"Talk?" Mia sneered, her eyes full of madness.
She pointed angrily at Margaret. "Margaret, the reason I'm in this situation today is all because of you! Anyone associated with you must die! If it weren't for you, Lyle wouldn't have left me. I would still be his fiancée! But you shamelessly seduced him, bewitched him, and made him break off the engagement with me! Not only that, you ruined my reputation."
Online, she was ridiculed, seen as a joke, this famous genius pianist was a complete joke.
Mia still thought that the shameless one was Margaret, she had done nothing wrong!
Thinking about how her current situation was all thanks to Margaret, Mia's eyes were filled with endless hatred.
"It wasn't me who ruined your reputation, it was you," Margaret said expressionlessly, her red lips moving.
She really admired Mia's logic. If it weren't for Mia's step-by-step malicious tactics against her, Mia wouldn't have ended up like this.
Margaret just found Mia's madness laughable. Clearly, she couldn't accept her own failure and blamed all her mistakes on others.
"Mia, you know very well that your situation is your own doing. You just don't want to accept your failure. The Davis treated Lyle that way back then, why do you think he should wait for you?"
"You're talking nonsense!" Mia's eyes were bloodshot, her face twisted. "Margaret, don't be arrogant in front of me. Your friend is in my hands. If you dare to make a move, you'll only meet in hell!"
"What do you want?" Margaret frowned, her clear, starry eyes now deep and profound.
No matter what, she had to ensure Juniper's safety.
Mia's eyes were filled with endless hatred. She pointed the knife at Juniper and suddenly burst into laughter.
The ghostly laughter echoed in the mountains, sending chills down one's spine.
Then, Mia's hateful gaze fell on Margaret, and she said through gritted teeth, "Margaret, you want to save your friend? It's simple, trade yourself for her!"
