Chapter 115 Radioactive Elements

Following the security guard, Margaret strolled to the main entrance. She spotted a mob at the gate, with a bunch of reporters lugging cameras.

As soon as Margaret stepped out, a dude pointed at her and yelled, "That's her! I saw her on TV, the head honcho of the 'Ice and Fire' project, Margaret."

The crowd swarmed towards her.

"What's the deal?" Margaret asked, her brow furrowing.

Reporters jostled to get a word in.

"Miss Scott, what do you think about the claims that the Fisher Group's 'Ice and Fire' jewelry line is packed with radioactive stuff and causing people to get sick?"

"Is the Fisher Group skimping on costs by using radioactive materials?"

Questions flew at Margaret, and she took a deep breath.

No way that could be true. The Fisher Group's materials go through hardcore quality checks, and a screw-up like that would never fly. Unless someone was setting them up. But Margaret didn't have all the deets yet; they'd need a full-on investigation.

She calmly said, "Please calm down, everyone. All our products go through serious testing and are confirmed safe before hitting the shelves. There's no way they contain any radioactive material I think this is just a big misunderstanding."

"Misunderstanding?" A stylish middle-aged woman stepped up to Margaret. "My sister bought an 'Ice and Fire' necklace and got poisoned after wearing it. She's still in the hospital, and the doc said she would've been a goner if she came in a few days later! How's that a misunderstanding?"

"Ma'am, your sister's poisoning could be from a bunch of things, not necessarily our products," Margaret said, her tone icy.

"Of course, it's your stuff!" the middle-aged woman snapped. "The doc already checked my sister; it's radioactive poisoning. And the source is your 'Ice and Fire' necklace! I got the test results right here, proving your necklace is radioactive!"

The guy next to the woman held up a stack of papers. "Everyone, check this out. These are the test results, clear as day, saying the Fisher Group's necklace is radioactive, causing poisoning and maybe even death! We dropped big bucks on Fisher Group's jewelry, only to end up poisoned in the hospital! They're selling junk and making dirty money!"

"Yeah, we want answers today!" The middle-aged woman and the guy demanded.

Margaret glanced at the test results in the guy's hand, struggling to tell if they were legit. The top priority was figuring out what was really going down.

She cleared her throat and said seriously, "We'll definitely look into this. Until we have all the facts, I hope you can work with us. Why don't you head home for now? I'll send someone right away to check out the necklace you bought. If it's our fault, we'll make it right."

"Of course, there's a problem!" The middle-aged woman jabbed a finger at Margaret, her tone sharp. "Don't think you can stall us. If the Fisher Group doesn't give us answers today, we're not budging!"

Margaret was about to respond when a cold voice cut through the noise, "The Fisher Group will get to the bottom of this and give everyone an explanation!"

Margaret looked up to see William striding towards her, his steps steady and confident.

The reporters swarmed around William. "Sir, what's your take on this? Did the Fisher Group really use crappy materials for the 'Ice and Fire' jewelry series?"

William's handsome face was stern, his brows slightly furrowed. "We put our customers first, always delivering top-notch products and never using substandard materials. We'll dig deep into today's incident. If it's our fault, we'll own up and give our customers a satisfactory explanation."

He paused, his tone turning icy. "But if someone's trying to frame the Fisher Group, they'll pay for it."

The middle-aged woman, feeling the weight of William's presence, took a step back. "Fine, we'll wait for the Fisher Group's investigation results!"

The security guards kept the reporters at bay, and Margaret followed William to the CEO's office.

"What do you make of this?" William asked, drumming his fingers on the desk.

Margaret didn't hesitate. "Logically, every step in the production is tightly controlled. So, it's impossible for there to be any radioactive elements unless someone is sabotaging us."

"Tampering wouldn't be easy," William said calmly.

Indeed, the Fisher Group's factory operations were super strict, making it tough for outsiders to mess with.

Margaret nodded. "So, I still think someone's framing us."

"Who do you think it could be?" William's voice was clear and low.

Margaret smirked. "Whoever stands to gain the most from the crisis is the prime suspect."

William leaned back in his chair. "I agree. Royal Radiance is a likely candidate."

"That's a possibility. It shouldn't be hard to find out," Margaret said with a slight smile.

This wasn't rocket science. Just check where the woman's sister bought the necklace, see if it really had radioactive elements, and if it was tampered with. The truth would come out soon enough.

At this point, Royal Radiance was the most suspicious. After all, the previous plagiarism scandal had caused a huge stir, with the Fisher Group coming out on top while Royal Radiance took a hit.

Now, framing the Fisher Group seemed totally plausible.

William called Peter. "Look into the news today and find out what's going on."

"Yes," Peter replied respectfully.

But before Peter could dig up any solid leads, several more cases suddenly popped up.
