Chapter 339 Did you miss me?
"Speaking of which, I've been single all these years thanks to you!" Daisy added, "And by the way, do you really think I don't know about the Fisher Family matters? Why did you adopt Ulysses? You know the reason."
Bradley trembled slightly as he held his phone, old memories suddenly resurfacing.
"What do you want?" he asked, his voice shaking.
"Dad, I don't want anything," Daisy replied, her tone growing more triumphant as she sensed Bradley's nervousness. "It's just that Abigail and I don't want to be locked up anymore. You should have William let us out. You know, when people are confined for too long, they tend to get irritable, and when they get irritable, they might say things they shouldn't. If I accidentally let something slip in front of William, that wouldn't be good."
"Are you threatening me?" Bradley frowned, his voice cold.
"Dad, there's no need to put it so harshly. William is my son; I don't want him to know about these things either." Daisy's lips curled into a smug smile. "Dad, think about it, but don't take too long. My patience is running thin."
"Fine, I agree. I'll have William let you out. I can also overlook the poisoning incident," Bradley said coldly after a moment of thought, "But if you say anything you shouldn't, or if you try any tricks, you know what I'm capable of!"
"Don't worry, as long as you have William let us out and overlook the past, I won't say anything more." With that, Daisy hung up.
"Daisy, how did it go? Did Grandpa agree?" Abigail asked eagerly from the side.
"Of course, your grandpa has agreed to have William let us out," Daisy said confidently.
"That's great!" Abigail's eyes sparkled with excitement. She could finally get out.
"By the way, Daisy, earlier you mentioned to Grandpa that there was something about William's dad's death that he didn't know about?" Abigail blinked and asked.
She had overheard Daisy's conversation with Bradley. Although she hadn't heard everything clearly, she could tell that Daisy had something on Bradley.
And it had something to do with William's father's death.
Daisy's expression turned cold. "It's all old news; you don't need to know."
Abigail was a bit disappointed but then nodded obediently. "Daisy, are we really going to be out soon?"
"Yes." Daisy confirmed.
Abigail's eyes narrowed slightly, thingking her currentsituation entirely because of Margaret.
Once she got out, she wouldn't let Margaret off.
The Fisher Group.
At the Fisher Group.Margaret was engrossed in her work when she suddenly received a call from Anthony.
Margaret stood up, walked to a secluded spot, and answered the phone. "Anthony, what's up?"
"Ada, I have some good news for you," Anthony said in a low voice.
"Did you find out something about Angel?" Margaret's expression tensed.
"No, it's not that," Anthony chuckled. "It's about BPL. I think you'll be interested."
"Alright, stop beating around the bush. What is it?" Margaret tugged at the corner of her mouth.
"Well, you know the North Bay project? BPL used some underhanded tactics to win the bid, right?" Anthony's tone was somewhat gloating. "The government's plan has been officially announced, and Jack is secretly selling off the North Bay land."
"That is good news," Margaret said with a smile, "Thanks!"
"No need to be so formal with me, Ada," Anthony replied with a laugh.
After hanging up, Margaret headed straight to the CEO's office.
The door to the CEO's office was ajar, and Peter was discussing something with William.
Margaret knocked on the door.
"Ms. Scott," Peter said respectfully when he saw Margaret.
"Come in," William said, his voice clear and cool.
Margaret walked in, and Peter, sensing the situation, said, "Mr. Fisher, I'll take my leave."
"Okay." William nodded slightly.
Peter quickly left the office, thoughtfully closing the door behind him.
He didn't want to be the third wheel and get on William's bad side.
Although William and Margaret seemed to be at odds in public, Peter knew they were just putting on a show.
As Margaret approached William's desk, he suddenly reached out and pulled her onto his lap.
"What are you doing?" Margaret blushed at their intimate position.
William leaned in and whispered in her ear, "Did you come to see me because you missed me?"
"I have business to discuss," Margaret said, glaring at William as she struggled to stand up.
William's face darkened slightly. "What is it?"
"I got word that Jack is secretly selling the North Bay land," Margaret said, clearing her throat. "We can acquire it and drive the price down."
William raised an eyebrow. "We think alike."
Margaret felt a faint joy. "You mean..."
William took her hand and brushed it against his lips. "Peter and I were just discussing this. I've already instructed him to handle it."
Since they were acquiring land, they couldn't do it under the Fisher Group's name because Jack wouldn't sell to them.
Therefore, he had Peter use a third-party company to make the purchase.
"Great minds think alike," Margaret said with a smile.
Her smile was so enchanting that William couldn't resist kissing her.
And he did just that, leaning in to capture her lips.
This time, Margaret didn't resist.
She let out a soft moan, wrapped her arms around his neck, and matched his movements.
Encouraged, William's actions became even gentler.
The atmosphere in the CEO's office grew increasingly intimate.
Just then, William's phone rang.
Margaret gently pushed him away. "Your phone is ringing. Answer it."
William cursed under his breath. 'Who is calling at this time?'
He checked his phone and saw it was a call from the Fisher Mansion.
William's heart skipped a beat. 'Why is Grandpa calling me now? Could something have happened?'
