Chapter 206 Margaret is So Violent
"No way, it's not like that!" Grace's eyes were all over the place as she argued, "I don't even know when my dress got ripped. Since you were the only one I had beef with, I just figured it was you. I wasn't trying to set you up or anything."
"Oh really?" Margaret smirked, got up, and strolled over to Grace.
"Yeah, really. Got any proof I did it myself?" Grace shot back, getting a bit worked up.
Margaret pointed at Grace's dress and said coolly, "It's pretty clear the tear was from someone yanking it hard. From the time I left to when you and Lucy caught up, it was just a few minutes. Who else but you could've done it?"
Grace froze. "That's just your wild guess. Don't pin this on me!"
"Margaret's not making stuff up; you did tear it yourself," William, who'd been quiet with a cold look, suddenly chimed in.
"Mr. Fisher?" Grace shivered under William's icy stare. She didn't dare question William's sudden statement, just bit her lip and said, "I didn't."
"William, what are you saying? Why are you still backing Margaret? Do you still have a thing for her?" Lucy snapped.
She and Grace had planned to humiliate Margaret, but Margaret had flipped the script, which was already embarrassing enough. Everyone knew Grace was Lucy's sidekick. If Grace really had to beg Margaret for forgiveness, it would be a huge hit to Lucy's rep! And now William was sticking up for Margaret. Was he still hung up on her?
Lucy glared at Margaret, looking like she wanted to tear her apart.
William smirked. "I'm not taking sides, just stating the facts."
With that, William pulled out his phone, took a step forward, and walked towards Margaret.
"William." Angel grabbed William's arm tightly, jealousy flashing in her eyes.
Everyone knew William had broken off his engagement with Margaret and was now into Angel! But now, in front of everyone, William was standing up for Margaret without hesitation, making Angel feel super embarrassed!
William frowned, gently pulled his arm away, and walked straight to Margaret, opened his phone, and did something on the computer. A bunch of photos popped up on the screen.
"See for yourselves." William stood up, his voice cold.
Margaret looked at the screen, surprised. The photos clearly showed Grace in a corner near the boutique entrance, yanking at her dress while Lucy covered for her.
How did William get these photos? Margaret felt a little flutter in her heart and glanced at him.
William raised an eyebrow, his deep eyes meeting hers with a faint smile, and Margaret quickly looked away. She had no clue why William suddenly decided to back her up. But then she caught the hostile glare in Angel's eyes. Margaret's heart sank a bit.
Meanwhile, Grace blurted out, "How could this be?"
Her eyes were wide with disbelief. Who the heck took these photos? And how did they end up with William, being shown to everyone?
"Grace, got anything else to say?" Margaret's sharp gaze locked onto Grace. "Kneel down and apologize!"
Grace gritted her teeth, her face twisted, eyes bloodshot. "Margaret, you want me to kneel and apologize? In your dreams!"
Even if she was totally busted now, she would never kneel to Margaret or apologize!
"What, you don't keep your word?" Margaret sneered, stepping closer to Grace.
Margaret's intense presence made Grace back up, panicking. "Margaret, what are you doing?"
"Making you keep your promise!" With that, Margaret's eyes turned cold, and she kicked Grace's knee. Caught off guard, Grace's knee buckled, and she hit the ground.
Margaret grabbed her hair and shouted, "Still not apologizing?"
Grace felt a sharp pain in her scalp. Everyone around was pointing at her, full of disdain.
"Are you gonna apologize or not?" Margaret tightened her grip.
Grace, in pain, couldn't hold back her tears. She looked at Lucy for help, only to see Lucy glaring at her with disgust. Grace's mental defenses completely crumbled, and she cried out, "I'm sorry!"
"See, wasn't that hard, was it?" Margaret sneered, letting go of Grace, her voice icy. "I warn you, if you try to frame me again, it won't be as simple!"
Today, she wanted Grace and Lucy to know that messing with her would not end well!
Grace collapsed on the ground, trembling, unable to get up for a long time, crawling towards Lucy for help. "Lucy, Lucy, help me."
Lucy kicked her. "Useless!"
Margaret crossed her arms, watching coldly.
In fact, she felt a bit sorry for Grace. She had tried so hard to please Lucy, only to be used as a tool. Now, in this state, Grace would probably soon be on the news, becoming a laughingstock.
Angel looked at the extremely disheveled Grace, helped her up, then pretended to be scared and hid behind William. "Margaret is so violent."
Margaret looked at Angel expressionlessly. 'Is this hypocritical woman starting her act again? Pretending to be weak in front of William while smearing me?'
As Margaret was thinking, she saw Mia walking towards the door out of the corner of her eye.
"Stop! Mia Davis!" Margaret raised her voice and walked quickly to Mia.
Mia stopped. "What?"
Margaret smiled slightly. "If I remember right, you were the one who insisted I tore Grace's dress. Now that it's proven you were lying, don't you owe me an apology?"
