Chapter 425 Public Confession

As soon as William spoke, the room exploded into chaos.

Reporters swarmed around Jack, bombarding him with questions:

"Mr. Phillips, what do you think about Mr. Fisher's recent statements?"

"Is Angel really a pawn you placed next to Mr. Fisher?"

"Did you secretly instruct Angel to steal Fisher Group's trade secrets? Now that Angel's identity has been exposed and BPL has taken a major hit, Mr. Phillips, how do you feel about all this?"

Feelings at this moment?

Jack's feelings were naturally at rock bottom.

"Get out of my way!" Jack's face was dark as he shouted at the reporters.

His fists clenched tightly, his knuckles turning white from the pressure.

He had been outsmarted!

William and Margaret had seen through his plan long ago. They had been acting all along, pretending to argue in front of Angel and the reporters, making everyone believe they had fallen out.

But secretly, they had been preparing everything. On one hand, William pretended to be engaged to Angel, deceiving both him and Angel, while on the other hand, they were gathering evidence.

All to deliver this fatal blow at today's engagement party.

This time, he had underestimated William. Not only had he lost Angel, but his company had also taken a severe hit.

Jack would remember this debt.

He would make sure to repay it tenfold in the future!

Jack pushed through the reporters and left.

"Take Angel to the police station and charge her with industrial espionage," William said coldly, glancing at Angel, who was collapsed on the ground.

"No, please!" Angel's face was ashen, her body trembling. "William, please let me go! I beg you! It was all Jack's doing, it has nothing to do with me!"

William didn't even spare her a glance.

Two security guards stepped forward and dragged the sobbing Angel away.

Watching Angel's tearful departure, Margaret's lips curled slightly.

All the effort and planning over the past few days had finally paid off.

Today's strike had not only exposed Angel's true nature in front of everyone but also made Jack reap what he had sown, delivering a heavy blow to BPL.

However, even though Angel wasn't Marjorie, where was the real Marjorie?

If one day the real Marjorie appeared, what would William do?

Margaret's thoughts momentarily drifted.

"What are you thinking about?" William noticed Margaret's distraction and stepped closer, his lips near her ear as he asked in a low voice.

Margaret snapped back to reality and shook her head. "Nothing."

"Are you really okay?" William looked at Margaret with concern.

Facing William's worry, Margaret's face held a faint smile. She could feel the deep love William had for her.

Even if the real Marjorie appeared in the future, Margaret was confident that William's heart would never be occupied by anyone else.

Today's engagement party had turned into a farce. Seeing Margaret and William's sweet interaction, the reporters crowded around them:

"Mr. Fisher, was today's engagement party planned from the start?"

"Ms. Scott, were your previous arguments with Mr. Fisher part of the plan?"

"Mr. Fisher, did you never love Angel and never intend to marry her?"

"That's right." William nodded slightly, his intense gaze fixed on Margaret's face. "From the beginning, I've only loved one woman, and that's Margaret. And my fiancée will only be Margaret."

William's words were a public declaration of love for Margaret.

His deep, magnetic voice reached Margaret's ears, causing her face to flush slightly.

What was William doing? There were so many people around.

"That's enough," Margaret whispered, giving William a light glare.

As soon as Margaret finished speaking, William suddenly leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.

The room erupted in thunderous applause. What was supposed to be William and Angel's engagement party had turned into William's declaration of love for Margaret.

Margaret's face burned with embarrassment as she quickly pushed William away.

The reporters' cameras flashed continuously, capturing this sweet and beautiful moment.

However, there were some who were not pleased.

Abigail, sitting in the audience, glared at Margaret on stage, unable to hide the jealousy in her eyes.

She had thought William was really going to marry Angel, but it turned out to be Margaret after all.

Margaret, that wretched woman, what did she do to deserve this?

Abigail was unwilling to accept it, extremely unwilling.

Her hands clenched tightly at her sides, her jealous gaze fixed on Margaret, wishing she could tear her apart.

William was hers; this outstanding man could only belong to her, Abigail!

"Look at that, William is completely captivated by that wretched Margaret," Abigail said, trying to stir up trouble as she glanced at Daisy sitting next to her.

"If William's fiancée were Angel, she would be easy to deal with, just a bar singer. But Margaret is different. She's cunning, ruthless, and the boss of Starlight Entertainment.

After what we did to Margaret before, if she really marries William, won't she seek revenge? What will we do then?"

Listening to Abigail, Daisy glared at Margaret. "Don't worry, Abigail. I won't let that wretched Margaret marry William."

"But even Grandpa is helping her," Abigail said worriedly.

Given today's events, Bradley must have known about William and Margaret's plan.

Otherwise, considering Bradley's fondness for Margaret, how could he have agreed to William and Angel's engagement party?

"Don't worry about that," Daisy said through gritted teeth. "I have my ways."

Abigail suddenly remembered that when she and Daisy were held captive by William, Daisy had made a call to Bradley, and Bradley had ordered William to release them.

So Daisy must have some leverage over Bradley.

And it must be something important. Abigail had overheard that it was related to William's father's death.

Abigail was curious. What had really happened to William's father all those years ago?

If she could help William uncover the truth, would he look at her differently, maybe even fall in love with her?
